I'm still here too!
I've managed to cut out all tea at work and just have water while I'm there now. I've still been having about 3-4 cups of tea at home, but I've swapped my last one of the evening for camomile instead to try to help me calm down a bit and sleep better.::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

Sounds as though you are doing well d3mon4ngel :T
I have to admit I am generally sleeping better than I have done for years.... I had been a bad sleeper for so long, it had never actually occurred to me that it might be the caffeine
Ideally I would like to cut dowon on the diet coke more, but cutting out the caffeine is a start I supposeSave £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -
I have just found this thread. I gave up diet coke from Ist January, and managed to do it a previous year but started again
The problem I have is when I have a night out - I'm trying to lose weight, don't really want to drink diet drinks at all due to Aspartame, but not really sure what to have
Had a couple of lemon and lime's last night - but sure the calories must be a lot. What do other people drink when out?Not Rachmaninov
But Nyman

It always seems to take me hours to fall asleep, but since this weekend when I've been drinking the camomile before bed, I seem to be dropping off a lot quicker. I guess you don't realise how much it can affect you until you start to cut it out::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

If I'm out and not drinking alcohol, I will normally have blackcurrant cordial. Though probably still loaded with sugar, but cheap enough. I just buy a pint and that lasts me for most of the night::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

Good luck
I've been completely caffeine-free for at least two months now lol. Started as giving it up for a month for my day zero list, but have not started drinking it again since.
I used to have whiskey and coke when I went out, but now I either have a few glasses of wine (which gets me in trouble lol) or I drink pints of water or blackcurrant.::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

HOW have you managed to stay caffeine free?! :eek:I couldn't cope! I still drink coffee, tea etc. My giving up Diet Coke is more of a moneysaving expedition than quitting caffeine. I miss the cold fizzy bubbles, especially on hot days!!Factors: £100/£981.61; Credit Card 1. £36.66/£600; Credit Card 2. £0/£6520

To be honest, it's just me. I think it's something that's stuck with me since I quit smoking. I don't like the idea that any substance is in control of me. I could feel myself *needing*, not just wanting, a cup of tea when I got in, and I didn't like it. I gave it up just to prove to myself that I could and that I was still in control. I'm a weirdo right? :P::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

Just found this thread. It is SO what I need to do. I drink anywhere from 1 to 2 2-litre bottles of Diet Coke per day. Presently, it's almost the only thing I drink. I've known for years I needed to give it up, but somehow haven't considered just cutting down.
I spend probably $28-$35 per week on the stuff, especially if I order one when eating out. So cutting down could really save me some money.
My goal, starting today: 1 bottle per day. I think the bottles are 24 oz, but I'll have to check. Or 1 2-litre must last me 3 days. Oh, but can I do it?
I've been drinking the things for 40 years at least. And then it was Tab. Before then -- regular Pepsi, which I detest now.
Thanks to the original poster on this one -- I thought I was alone in the Diet Coke world.Nov Goal: Make $20. per day extra/ $90.10 today
Cut down on $3.00 per day Diet Coke habit
List items on eBay/Sales $20.
