    I'm still here too! :)

I've managed to cut out all tea at work and just have water while I'm there now. I've still been having about 3-4 cups of tea at home, but I've swapped my last one of the evening for camomile instead to try to help me calm down a bit and sleep better.

Sounds as though you are doing well d3mon4ngel :T
I have to admit I am generally sleeping better than I have done for years.... I had been a bad sleeper for so long, it had never actually occurred to me that it might be the caffeine :p
Ideally I would like to cut dowon on the diet coke more, but cutting out the caffeine is a start I suppose :D

I have just found this thread. I gave up diet coke from Ist January, and managed to do it a previous year but started again

The problem I have is when I have a night out - I'm trying to lose weight, don't really want to drink diet drinks at all due to Aspartame, but not really sure what to have

Had a couple of lemon and lime's last night - but sure the calories must be a lot. What do other people drink when out?

It always seems to take me hours to fall asleep, but since this weekend when I've been drinking the camomile before bed, I seem to be dropping off a lot quicker. I guess you don't realise how much it can affect you until you start to cut it out :)

If I'm out and not drinking alcohol, I will normally have blackcurrant cordial. Though probably still loaded with sugar, but cheap enough. I just buy a pint and that lasts me for most of the night :)

    Good luck :)

I've been completely caffeine-free for at least two months now lol. Started as giving it up for a month for my day zero list, but have not started drinking it again since.

I used to have whiskey and coke when I went out, but now I either have a few glasses of wine (which gets me in trouble lol) or I drink pints of water or blackcurrant.

  • HOW have you managed to stay caffeine free?! :eek:I couldn't cope! I still drink coffee, tea etc. My giving up Diet Coke is more of a moneysaving expedition than quitting caffeine. I miss the cold fizzy bubbles, especially on hot days!!

To be honest, it's just me. I think it's something that's stuck with me since I quit smoking. I don't like the idea that any substance is in control of me. I could feel myself *needing*, not just wanting, a cup of tea when I got in, and I didn't like it. I gave it up just to prove to myself that I could and that I was still in control. I'm a weirdo right? :P

  • Just found this thread. It is SO what I need to do. I drink anywhere from 1 to 2 2-litre bottles of Diet Coke per day. Presently, it's almost the only thing I drink. I've known for years I needed to give it up, but somehow haven't considered just cutting down.

I spend probably $28-$35 per week on the stuff, especially if I order one when eating out. So cutting down could really save me some money.
My goal, starting today: 1 bottle per day. I think the bottles are 24 oz, but I'll have to check. Or 1 2-litre must last me 3 days. Oh, but can I do it?

I've been drinking the things for 40 years at least. And then it was Tab. Before then -- regular Pepsi, which I detest now.

Thanks to the original poster on this one -- I thought I was alone in the Diet Coke world.
