Was quite naughty last week as we were on holiday but while we were away I did a test and subesquently found out that I am in what they used to call a "delicate situation" so since I wasn't able to have wine or spirits, I was *forced* to drink diet coke! Now we are home and my husband has become "Diet Coke Police" and is forcng me to cut down. Help!!!!
Well done Marie brilliant news, I'm pleased for you. Mind you the thought of your hubby in his diet coke police uniform might not be good for your blood pressure :rotfl::rotfl:
How about squash and fizzy water (plain variety) that might help It's one of my summer drinks
I'm so sorry I've not been around for most of the week. I'm sooooooooooo tired. The last 2 weeks I've been out or busy 4 work nights out of 5 and I'm flaming shattered. Been falling into bed at 10pm but where I've been on the computer for most of the day AND I'm tired I just can't fire up the laptop and make sense of what's on the screen. Roll on half term
I've drunk 5lt of diet coke, caffeine free this week. Mind you I've been eating too much as well, tiredness always makes me eat too much. Not sure how to deal with that. sigh
Any more updates anyone?0 -
All this week I've managed to only have 1 cup of tea in the morning and that's it
Last night I had two of whiskey and cokes, so I suppose I didn't really cut down on the caffeine that much lol::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

Hi everyone,
Not sure if I would say that I am making any progress or not! I have changed from diet coke to the caffeine free, and have got used to it now. I am sleeping really well, and the only night that I didn't sleep well was last sunday, when I was out all day and drank 2 'normal' diet cokes whilst I was out. Can't be completely sure that is why I didn't sleep- it was a hectic day and my mind was reeling as I went to bed- but I would prefer to remain caffeine free and sleep well!!
I am still drinking 2 or 3 cans a day. Would like to cut down and definitely am not getting the cravings I had before I went caffeine free, but I don't really have anything I like to replace it with.:cool:Save £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -
ive also switched to caffeine free diet coke and finished my last one today! eeeeeek! im going to see how long i can resist buying any.... gulp
i havent drank tea since april last year when a serious kidney infection and a hospital stay strangely killed my love of tea! the caffeine withdrawal was awful, lasted for over a week with horrid headaches!
my aim is to be completely caffeine free - just about there!:T
but what do i drink now ha ha water is all i have tho its not as boring as it used to be. i dont like squash and im trying to stay away from the artificial sweetners! they do say water is good for you ....... sigh...... :rotfl:Sealed Pot Member 1269VSP... TO UPDATE!

You are in the same situation as me then really.... except that I have 16 cans of caffeine free arriving in the Tescos shopping tomorrow!! Apart from fruit juice with breakfast, and water, I don't drink anything else. I know squash would probably be better for me, but I really don't like it. I do like water, but it is a bit boring. I really can't see how I am ever going to cut out the diet coke....
I am glad though that I have now cut out the caffeine- and unlike you, I didn't seem to have any withdrawal symptoms, much to my surprise!:pSave £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -
HiYa..thought I'd just pop in for a look around & cheer you all on from the side-lines (It won't involve skimpy uniforms tho--I don't do skimp in any shape or form )
I like those fruit & herbal teas sometimes, & like the value versions of sparkling 'mineral' water. I heard somewhere that the bubbly versions are better at helping the brain retain information but couldn't possibly say if that's true, but I thoroughly enjoyed a ten-week, 6hrs-a-time training course where we had free access to the stuff.

Hi, is it ok if I join in?
I switched down from regular coke when I lost masses of weight a couple of years ago; now I drink well over a litre a day, probably closer to two and I'm well and truly addicted to itPut all the weight back on too so I've not even got that as a consolation!
I'd like to cut down to one can a day, and a 2l bottle for over the weekend. Fingers crossed I can do it!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
Hi everyone,
Haven't been on this thread for a while, for various reasons.
I haven't drunk any diet coke for a week!!!! Unfortunately it's nothing to do with me 'being good', more a case of being ill, and everything I eat or drink tastes disgusting
I am starting to feel better and now have a decision to make.... I have proven to myself that I can drink nothing but water for a week, so do I try to have no diet coke from now on?? Trouble is, I love it, and water all the time is boring. I don't like tea, coffee, squash, and only drink fruit juice with breakfast (although that tastes foul at the moment as well). Now I am on the mend my taste will hopefully start to get back to normal.
I think I will try a can a day if I feel like it and see how I get onSave £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -
How is everyone doing?? Thought I would bump this thread up a bit to remind everyone that we are still here!!:D
I am still on the caffeine free diet coke, but can't say I have really cut it down by much. It is a pain that I can't buy caffeine free at my local supermarket, so I have to stock up when I go elsewhere.Save £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810
