(fingers crossed it stays that way).
dark and raining here all day too but nothing
compared to poor Australia, the weather has gone weird
everywhere or so it seems!!
feel so sorry for those poor parents who lost their
3 year old daughter to swine fluvery brave of them to
to try and save other parents from having to bear such
heartbreak
seem to have spent the day cleaning the floors in the
kitchen and living room, then next minute they're covered in
wet paw prints again!! we've got a doggy door flap and he's in

always catch him in time!!

Me too - DH has just trotted off, very excited to be watching his team (Liverpool) only 10 mins walk from home in that famous Lancashire seaside resort!jackieglasgow wrote: »:rotfl: talking incessantly you mean. DH says I am like the girl in the First Direct advert, I never shut up!
Oh I LOVE that advert! Hope going back to work goes OK - are you doing a phased-return? Your professional advice is much appreciated
Am trying to be OS, but with OH working from home during all the cold snowy weather, the heating was on 24-7  so am glad we have a shiny efficient new boiler & that the bills have his name on :rotfl:
We also have DS2 living with us, so 3 to feed instead of 2 has been a bit of an adjustment to come to terms with, but it seems to be working out OK.
Washing currently drying on airer, leftover peas & bacon made into a sort of rice'n'peas / risotto thing - it was very nice!
Right, am off to find recipes to make inroads into the suet & strawberry jam (from 2008 ) mountains I uncovered in the pantry at the weekend.... steamed suet sponge or jam roly poly anyone? Bring your own custard...:D0 -
Evening all!
Really wet day here....have had to be out and about too!
Nice OS tea tonight-Quorn curry-hoovered up by OH and DS. I use the chicken style chunks with a spoonful or so of Pataks korma paste, coriander and cumin(dried) onions, pepppers and mushrooms.
Dolly cat was cross that it was raining this afternoon and didn't want to go out. She can't understand that I can't make it stop!
OH at train club so I'm slobbing in the armchair with the lappie as I hoovered the kitchen diner and washed the kitchen floor before I went to work this morning.
Think I've got Atonement on DVD so might watch it later and I think there's some Baileys left hmmm.....
Have a good evening.

Low Fat Moussaka
Serves 6
258 cals/10g fat per serving
1 lge onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
450g lean lamb mince
1 tbsp chopped thyme
A 400g can of chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 large Aubergine
½ pint (300ml) low fat natural yoghurt
I beaten egg
1 tsp mustard powder
salt and pepper
Preheat Oven 180c/Gas 4
Dry fry the onion in a non stick frying pan until soft. Add the garlic and the lamb mince. Cook quickly until the meat is well sealed.
Add the thyme, tomatoes and tomato puree season with salt and pepper and simmer gently.
Meanwhile cut the aubergine into thin slices and place on a non stick baking tray, season with plenty of salt and pepper and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden.
Place alternate layers of the lamb mixture and aubergines in an oven proof dish.
Combine the yoghurt, beaten egg and mustard, season well and pour over the lamb.
Bake in the oven for 30 - 35 minutes or until golden brown.

That doesn't sound too bad, I think I'll have a look for someone, rather than a big business - all the local ones seem to be big franchises.
