Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 12th Jan. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning everyone! DS2 came in with a wet bed to wake me, and then OH started snoring, so i've been up the best part of an hour. Least I've got somethings done though!

WM and dryer on (its so wet up here, and I have builders and their dust everywhere so dryer it is!), must think about emptying DW. Packed lunches made last night (oooh get me!!). Have used this bit of unexpected time to write some letters that needed doing and print off some things for work. Hopefully going to be working full time as of next week - which will be nice. Don't know WHAT state the house will be in though - any tips for keeping the house clean and tidy - and cutting back on childrens clutter MOST appreciated.

Dived to the bottom of the freezer on Monday night so now know what I have (and what I don't). Yesterday was a write off as I was ill - Migraine, but I think its got to a point where I can ignore it now. Got some Tonic from MR T yesterday as fed up with feeling under the weather, but not able to say whats wrong. Breakfast meeting this morning (so no breakfast for me at home!) but I need to try to find something smart that I can fit into after the christmas excess!

Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice, as I found I have a few in the freezer and its nice and easy. Hugs to those who'd like one and smiles to everyone.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Hubby's been dropped at the station, I've mastered the art of driving without brakes which is great!
Packups made, egg sarnies for me & thinly sliced peppered steak for hubby, fish fed & DW loaded.
I've just about finished a green lapgan & at the weekend I'll make a start on a pink & cream cot blanket for a staff member who is expecting in May, which reminds me I must see if I have enough to make a cream & blue one as a friends DD is expecting in March, my own DD is expecting in 2 weeks, but has a MIL who knits & crochets for her & is drowning in 'stuff'
Bitsy, love the word !!!!!!, but I'm far too young innocent & naive to work out what it means, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Too dark to see what the weather is doing but I dont think its raining, supposed to be off to work today, but will make a decision in the next 1/2 hour, yesterday throughout the day I felt worse and worse sore throat and aches all over, will see how I feel, dont fancy sitting at my desk all day if I'm feeling rough.

OH is just putting the rubbish and recycling out, we missed the recycling just after xmas, so we have loads, cant wait for it to be emptied.

Dinner tonight in the cottage pie I made on Monday, veg is done too, so nice and easy, just need to get dd a veggie one out of the freezer.

OK better get on, have good days all xx

    Morning Everyone!

A busy day for me, ive got to take my cat back to the vets for a check up after her burst abscess and then take the car to be serviced.

Tonight I was going to cook lasagne but i think its going to end up as spag bol :)

The start of 'the great declutter of 2011' begins tomorrow, Im going to start on my wardrobe and decide what needs to go to charity, what goes to the tip and if there is anything good, i will put together an ebay pile :)

    Welcome B girl!!
Yikes Hester - watch yourself with no brakes.
BargainB - maybe your DD is low on iron? I'm just saying this as it is common in teenage girls. You get sachets from the chemist and supermarkets called Spatone, which is liquid iron and gentle on tum compared to iron tablets. You add them to orange juice and can't taste it. This isn't medical advice, just something I used to take and think they are good. i still take them for a boost sometimes.

It's lovely to have 1.5 degrees here. Positively hot! I hope we don't see more snow for a long time.

Have to go to the bank and also vet this morning. Quick hoover round this afternoon and a bit of a blitz on the kitchen as it's getting cluttered.

Have booked myself a facial at the local college for early evening. Just fancied a bit of a treat and this is a good way of doing it with lower cost. Hope it's good.

Ok, off to get my we4tabix!
    Have a good day all
