So why Empire transaction form accepts that code (for stuff not from the A&W catalogue) if the code does not work for sale items, huh? It seems clear that they want that way to wheedle us to unwanted purchases, and seeing response from some people here it seems that that con works great for the store.0 -

I would think that since there are very few xmas book and autumn winter items that are less than £5 that the majority of people have ordered items from the sale and that is why it's not workingRoll on spring, I hate the cold weather:(

What are we actually complaining about here? The fact that people 'took' a code of a website, used it, it didn't work? Oh yeah now I see. Next time try a code the postie brings! Chances are it WILL work and if it doesn't then phone them and they will sort it out.You may walk and you may run

Do you want to say that you never ever buy any unwanted products?
For example when you go to a supermarket you always have a list of goods to buy, and it never ever happens that you buy something which is not on that list? E.g. because there was a massive reduction in price or an advertisement with samples to try or because the item you bought was clearly displayed when you were passing by and it rivet your atention or for any other reason?
Dozens of thousands of people from marketing departments rack their brains about how to sell to people goods which they do not really want. Usually they do it by massive "sales", but Empire store is more original - they wilfully allow the discount code to be accepted by their internet forms in cases where it should not be accepted, then they display 0.00 on the invoice on the screen, causing people to advertise those "freebies" over internet, and then Empire store ignores those invoices and print new onces, without applying the discount code. Most of the people will return the goods, but some will not, although they would not buy them if not that trick with the code luring them to make an order.
That is how the Empire store induce people to buy products which they do not really want (which they would not buy if not the con with the code).0 -

Why do their internet forms accept the code in cases when it should not be accepted?
Why do not they abide their own invoices, which appeared when making an order?0 -
Emipre Stores DO NOT put these codes on the internet because they are for CERTAIN customers. CUSTOMERS put the codes on. It's a flaw with the internet on alot of websites that allow codes to be used in this way. EMPIRE STORES are not asking YOU to use the codes just CERTAIN folk. Not talking about you in paticular but what happens is everyone sees these codes, try to use them and get greedy by using say 2/3/4 different email addys! No wonder stores refuse people it goes beyond a joke! You may walk and you may run
