    Update:

They've been ignoring all my emails and I was getting annoyed at their lack of contact. Until this evening when I finally got an email from them. It was my Amazon gift certificate!

    It's for the wrong amount!

They promised the full £95 and only sent a voucher worth £85. I'm not happy.

Needless to say they got a prompt, strongly worded reply.

I will of course keep the thread updated, but I sincerely doubt I'll ever be using them again and they'll never get my recommendation.
  • They told me they'd reduce the price of my old N8 if it was showing any wear and tear. So I pointed out that its a 2 year old phone its bound to have wear and tear..

They also refused to match the price I found else where. Even though their website says 100% prise promise..

02, see what you can do..

Erm yeah - go fk yourself.
  • iPhone4 sent Friday 9th Nov. with proof of posting.

Nothing heard since, called yesterday... 'we still havent received your phone unfortunately, I suspect its been lost in the post. Contact Royal Mail to discuss further and i'll mark it down as lost in transit on your account'

My response 'Well, according to FindmyIphone the tracking app I had installed on the phone, it shows as last whereabouts Falkirk, funnily enough at your depot.'

Their response 'Ah, ok bear with us, we'll call you back'

Half hour later 'We've found your device, unfortunately there was a backlog in the receiving department. We'll process it now for you...'

    Hmmm.........
Its easier to make decisions in life, than it is to live with them.

  • 1/ thay took 2 weeks to acknowledge receipt of the phone - blamed the post. 2/ they knocked £10 off my offer for "damage" - the phone was in a cover and covered with invisible shield since day 1?? 3/ took a further 2 weeks to recewive my cheque.
I have never had such bad or slow service from any of the many "smaller" companies that I have used to recycle my phones. NEVER AGAIN O2 - AVOID like the plague.

I sent my mint condition Samsung Galaxy S2 and my daughter's battered Blackberry. They reduced the offer for hers from £86 to £77.40, which was fair as it was a bit ropey. They also reduced the offer on mine from 152 to £136.80 due to visible cosmetic damage. My phone has been in a case with a screen protector since I took it out of the box, and was wrapped in three layers of bubble wrap then into a padded envelope, so I fail to see how it was damaged.
I have asked them to send it back. What a waste of time!

    Update:
They emailed me to ring them, then said that they had got my phone and had another look. They apologised, they should never have reduced the price, and don't know why it was reduced. Now are going to pay me the full quote for my phone.
It seems you have to reject their offer if you know truthfully that your phone was in excellent condition, whether they automatically knock 10% off for wear and tear, I don't know.

Sent phone on the Thursday, got money on the Friday (the day they received it)

Full value as described on their website.

They also offered the most of anyone

    So 5/5 from me :)
  • I have 2 mobiles to recycle and after reading some reviews have opted for 02, when i put details in on the site it gives a cash price but also if your phone is damaged, scratched or faulty in any way has an option to reevaluate it, i did this as mine has some damage, it gave me a lower but fair price which i have accepted, however i still have to send them off so i will update when i know for sure i am getting this price
  • Be very careful using O2, I sent an iPhone 4 32gb to them after using the revised evaluation system on the website for a more accurate quote. It was a very well taken care of phone but unfortunately did have a minor scratch through the screen from the one and only time it was dropped.

The website quoted a 10% reduction for scratches which came out with a quote of £130. When they received the phone they sent me an email with a revised quote of around £90 after a 35% reduction for a cracked screen. I sent a strong reply refuting this claim which they completely ignored.

I'm now in the process of formally complaining.
