Spent £40.60 on food today. About £15 of that was on food we only buy about once a month, so it was a bit of a stock up I suppose. breaks down into:

    £3.74 - Meat (enough for 4-5 meals)
£9.54 - Bits for lunches (£3 on dry bits that'll last a month)
    £5.50 - OHs Coffee Addiction
    £3.00 - Fruit
£6.89 - Bits to make up meals
    £2.15 - Juice
£1.38 - 2 bags of sugar (2 months supply really)
£3.07 - Biscuits and sweeites! (Stanley Snails :D)
£3.08 - My Ketchup problem and some HP
    £2.25 - Toiletries

So we have some pennies left over to put into our jar.

Last night was amazing though, loved every little second. Spent £18.20 on tea, parking and drinks in the arena. So not bad at all. Gave the left over £10 in my purse to OH as he's working in my old town before he gets paid and needs something silly like £3.10 a day for parking.

The amazing news is OH is due a bonus in March's wage packet. He's getting the best one possible for his wage too because he's always met his targets and gets good marks from mystery shoppers. It will help so much. I'm beyond proud of him!

Not done much else today bar the shopping. Went to my Grandparents for dinner, and to see OH at work this morning. Where I got him a breakfast bap though I couldn't really afford it, put the change onto a silly named horse and won it all back to the penny. That's good karma working! :j Cleaned our bedroom and landing window again to keep the condensation off, and the kitchen windows on the outside. Mopped and dusted. OH is home for an hour at 5 for tea, then I'm wanting to get some surveys and STP done. Oh, living the life!

Well done to your OH on his bonus. Sounds like he has been working hard.

I have been doing a few surveys too, actually seem to have done OK on them today.

Hope you have a nice weekend x

Thanks Wendz, he has been working hard! He's got an early night today though, finishes at 6 instead of 9:30. Will be nice to have him home without us staying up till 12pm catching up with each other!

Crossed out step 3 today. Looking at my banking and my car account is at £125 now after moving some change into there this morning so there's that weight off. Also OH has been figuring his wages out and thinks he'll be able to get his car insurance saved for on his own come his end of March wages. Which means the £180 I'll have saved by next week can be put towards a new, semi crazy - semi 'OH works hard and he doesn't want his bonus going towards bills' idea.

Since we moved in we've been badgering about a new telly. But it would be a completely indulgent purchase as although the one we've got is a little fuzzy and patchy in places it works. Why bother? But OH has decided that seeing how he can save for his insurance solo from his wages, he wants to use the bonus and extra wages come march to treat us to something big. So enter a new TV! We've managed to find new homes for old ones. My parents paid £75 for the little old one we weren't using, and OH's Brother is buying our main one off us for £300. So £555 all in :j The deal we've got our eye on is £779 (with 5% cashback through OHs work) so all is good. The only thing is, OHs Brother is wanting the telly at the start of March. So we'd need to get it earlier than we can afford. OHs old credit card offered him a 0% interest offer a while back, so he's going to see if that still stands and we can go through that route. I don't much mind as it'll get paid off, and this way we'll get £300 for a telly that we'd only get £200 for else where.

Super long post to justify our treat. I can't blame OH ford wanting to spend his bonus on something fun though. He works his bum off for that place. Plus he had a little smile on his face this morning thinking he was working for something fun, not just bills.

Had a lovely day today though. Went to the big shopping centre near where OH used to live with my Mum. My Sister works there so we met her for some dinner. Mum spoilt my a little, bought me a much needed new foundation and paid for lunch. Only spent £2 as I popped into £1land for some new notepads (I get through them at a stupid pace with my lists, budgets and planning!) and a pack of pens as this house seems to eat them.

Went to see my Grandparents after my Mum went home (giddy as a button after getting herself an iPad!) it's my Grandma's Birthday so just popped her present around and had some cake and tea with them. Would have stayed longer but wanted to come home and get the house warm for when OH gets back.

And in one last bit of news, I found a bottle of appletizer we got for me to drink with Christmas dinner as I was driving to my parents later on so couldn't get jolly. Obviously forgot and didn't have it, so I've put that in the fridge to have with tea :D Not a clue what's on the menu tonight though.

We bought a new TV for ourselves for Christmas (pressie to each other) and I love it. Glad we got it for when I am on maternity leave and will probably spend most my day feeding. Anyway if that is what your OH wants to get with bonus then why now. I think we all need a treat every now and then and sounds like you are being very good in other areas.

Glad you had a nice day with your Mum.

Telly is an amazing thing :D I'm quite impressed with the sound of this one, it's meant to be all 'eco' and cheapish to run for a telly.

In a bit of a pickle. My family have decided to put Percy up for adoption. I'm finding it hard because I can't see where they're coming from. They're claiming he's hard to train, and they don't have the time for it. Fair enough with the time, it wasn't their choice to get him. But, he isn't hard to train at all! I can teach him a new trick in about 15 minutes. He rolls over for chirsts sake! He's only just 1, he's still a puppy and very excited about things. It's very unfair on him, and I feel like they're making excuses. I'm going to speak with OH tonight about maybe us having him. I know OH isn't keen on small dogs though, so I have a feeling he'll say no straight off. You don't give up on your pets ever, kind of can't believe they'll actually just give him up.

Aww poor Percy! Hope your OH says you can have him, can understand if not but seems such a shame.

I hope he does too. I'd love to have him, we were all ready to take him when we moved in here but my Sister started playing the 'I paid for him' card, and making out we'd just be looking after him while she moves to London. Which is why we decided to leave him with my parents.

Not been very busy since I got home from work. Cleaned the windows down again using the washing up liquid. Was cheeky and stole a spray bottle from work that I diluted some of the Washing up liquid in. So I'm experimenting by spraying that on the windows, rubbing it in and leaving it to dry a little before just buffing over it with a window cloth. Left the windows looking clear, just see how the condensation is in the morning. It's holding off for now!

Got sent and email from a company I signed up to last week on the off chance mine and OHs little stats would be needed. All they want is for us to fill in a food diary over two weeks, post it back and they'll send us a £15 CB voucher. Not bad for something that's only meant to take a couple minutes a day once you get into it. Glad I bought us those pens at the weekend now, if I didn't we'd end up doing it in bright pink biro! :o They say we'll get the diary through in a couple weeks, kind of excited!

Which actually reminds me, when we signed up to Sky we did it with the £50 M&S voucher offer which we need to chase up as we should have got them last month. Hopefully I'll remember tomorrow and give them a call!

We've got a chap from BG coming tomorrow about the free insulation offer they were doing for their dual fuel customers. That's us! :D OH is dealing with it, but I told him to push for cavity as we can get loft insulation bought and fitted for pennies through my company.

Woke up to lovely clean windows! Even in the bedroom and bathroom where they still misted up regardless last week, so I think my little spray bottle is the way forward! Will pick up a cheap bottle of own brand washing up liquid when I do the shopping this week, feel a bit guilty using the schmancy fairy liquid!

Just been shifting change around on our banking. Nothing's changed, nothing new! Was working through the statement on my current account (what all the bills come out of) and worked out I've got £20 to my little name. Which is lovely, I thought personal money wise I was totally broke.

Remembered the sky vouchers and sent them an email. Was going to call but I'm pretty sure it's a charged number, and will no doubt be on hold for an age. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon.

The BG man said we already have cavity insulation. Could have fooled me! Asked OH if that means we're having the loft insulated instead and he says the chap didn't even mention that *bashes head*

Had invited my Brother around for tea tonight, but he took it upon himself to invite his Girlfriend (though I have no doubt she had a jealous fit and invited herself like normal) I was finally honest and told him I didn't want her coming. But now I feel so guilty, I could always brush how she is with me off to spare my Brothers feelings but I refuse to put up with how she treats OH. I could understand if we'd ever been mean to her, but we haven't! Just sick of it now, she's quite a sour person. Now my Brother isn't coming at all, and isn't really talking to me. Hence the guilt!

Also remembered last night I put £50 of my own pennies into paying the council tax early that we 'owe' me. OH gets paid on Monday so I'll be able to pay myself it back from the money we put to one side for the next bill. Decided to put it towards the telly, which'll mean we'll only need to take £150 from OHs wages to cover it at the end of March :j It is pretty amazing how we can pull money together like this for things of top importance like a telly :rotfl:

And last thing for today! ST are offering free 'water saving' packs to their customers, so I've ordered us one of those. Could take a month to get here, but I'm sure it'll help when it does!

You're so on top of everything and organised! It's amazing!

Has anything been sorted re Percy? It doesn't seem very fair of your brother to get annoyed with you. You shouldn't have to see his girlfriend, especially if you haven't invited her and she's rude!

When do you get the new TV? I definitely think you both have worked hard and deserve it. It's just a bonus that you are managing to pay off most of it already! :D

    Hey Zig! :hello:

OH sent off for the replacement credit card, so as soon as we get that we'll be ordering it. Keep checking around for the best deal and Tescos are doing the telly for £700 with 2 pairs of adult glasses (plus 1398 points) saving us £80, and kind of gaining us £55 in rewards. Plus whatever extra points or discount vouchers I can find.

Spoke to OH about Percy but he isn't keen on us having him, I understand why. But it is heartbreaking. A little part of me is hoping they change their mind, but who knows! Anyways Miss, you were meant to be starting/restarting your thread! I be waiting :D

Forgot with my £20, £10 of that was still owed for my Grandmas Birthday present so I'm down to £10. I still, it's better than the £0 I thought I had!

Had a lovely night with OH yesterday, it was his day off so when I got home for work he had tea all laid out ready. Bless him :D We just had a night snuggled on the sofa watching WWE, I had a little bubble bath and then we watched Role Models and had a couple of the jellied fruits my Grandparents gave us at Christmas. I know it isn't everyones cup of tea (my Zus for one, would rather drag her future Mr out for dancing and dinner!) but I love nights in like that more than when have a little money and decide to go out for dinner.

Speaking of my Zus, it's her court day today. Feeling stressed for her. It's nothing bad on my Sisters side, just a stupid ex trying to get one over on her with money she lent him. Thankfully it's a morning thing, and they're stopping at the office on the way home for dinner and so I can give her a hug!

Not much else to report today! OH isn't home until late tonight, so when I get home I'm planning on doing some STP, admittedly haven't done any since I last mentioned it :o But it's kind of boring, I can't blame myself! But it's extra money, and I don't have any other plans.
