The dog plans sounds good Cinny! Much more exciting than a bed hehe.
Sounds like your OH did a good job shopping.I pretty much live in leggings too, especially good now!
Hope you enjoyed your chippy dinner, yum.
Birdie - how cute is that dog!0 -
They were scrummy thank you Wendz!
Having a lazy day today, slept in a little and I've only cleaned the bedroom, kitchen, living room and put the clothes out to dryBut, I did want a super lazy day and nothing else really needs doing!
Done the meal plan for next week (well, fri-fri) and written up the shopping list for Saturday. All ready! Think we'll be spending the full £50 grocery budget this week. Mainly because we said we'd buy OH's Stepdad a birthday cake and £7 of the £15 yesterday was on kitchen and toilet rolls but should last 3 months.
My Sister is over for tea tonight, but we can easily make it stretch. So it's no big deal really!
Last night I put our house down for the BG insulation freebie. Hopefully they'll get in touch soon! Though we're doing fine only having the heating on a couple hours each day now, even more so now we've got the fire. Still, will help next winter.
Still feeling very sleepy from the past couple weeks. Is it bad I want a nap?0 -
Went shopping today, the first time totally on my own and it was weird. But everything is nicely restocked again. Although I did go a little lah-lah and spent £27. Would have been £18 ish but I got some fajitas kits while they were cheap, some rollback meat and some new bits for OH to take to work as snacks (just smartprice nut mixes and some weird american crackers!) so bought a little sealed tub for him to take them in. We've got £5 left, so I'm going to nip to the local bargain wine shop and get us some cheapie wine for Valentines. I don't really go to any lengths to make out I'm at all classier than I am do I?
Went into town too, to see my Sister's lovely Ex (not the evil ex I'll no doubt mention in the next couple weeks!) about the tattoos I want, they designed one and said it would be about £50, so I'll see what I get money wise for my Birthday and see how I feel about it then. And OH is a Sun reading so I stole the Barry M coupon and got my freebies! Then felt bad for the Big Issue man as everyone was walking past him with their heads down, so stopped for a chat and bought the latest. I quite like the magazine actually, so no harm done!
OH has been a jammy git again with gambling. He took the £5 I gave him back for the leggings and put it on a bunch of horses and made himself £45He's given me my £5 too, so I've got plenty for tea and petrol (oh, yum!) come Thursday. I'm excited!!
No fancy plans for tea tonight. Doing a chicken korma, with samosas. Little bit tiddled I cheated and got the pre made ones though as I looked up the recipe online when I got home thinking 'Hey, we could get the stuff in and make them one day!' and it turns out we have got the stuff in, and I could have made them this day. Hmpgh. Oh wellI best go and get a crack on, I hate eating late but at least I still get a meal with the Mister!

£27 is still pretty cheap, you do so well!
Your OH seems very lucky! Hope his luck keeps on coming.
Hope you enjoyed the korma and had a lovely weekend.0 -
Happy Valentines Day everyone! :blushing:
No idea what we're doing tonight. OH is keeping it all very hushed, said he'll be sorting tea and has taken his winnings somewhere to pick something up. Kind of excited, though we never make a big deal of Valentines so it might just be a take out with a movie! We exchanged cards this morning though. And seeing how I'm pretty broke my gift to him was 4 freshly ironed work shirts :rotfl: Which, yano, is pretty thoughtful because normally he irons whatever one he's wearing in the morning before putting it on. So if anything, I'm giving him the gift of time. Which is pretty bloody amazing if you think about it.
The korma was lush thanks Wendz! Totally stuffed at 10pm isn't a great idea, but I couldn't regret a mouthfulMy Parents and Zus were over last night and came with stuff to cook so we had fish fingers and wedges finished with cherry pie and cream for pudding. Yumm! They left half a bag of spuds too, so I'm kind of glad I didn't pick any up on Saturday. They're mainly massive tators though so will make some really fluffy jacket spuds.
Not much change on the money front. Still plodding, not spending anything personally so every spare penny is being put towards OHs car insurance. We'll get there, just 2 more paydays until I get my extra wages paid in so that'll be a boost.0 -
It's slow at work today so I've been quite bad. Looking at the type of houses we'll be buying. There's one that's perfect. It's just around the corner from where we rent. The house itself isn't any bigger than what we have now, but there's a lot more land and even a garage (how novel!:D) But that's a long way off yet. I'd say a good year to clear OHs car loan when we get to it, and then another good 3 or so saving so we can afford to buy. But we're very good at muddling on, I'm just glad neither of us are brats and can happily go without to get there. Just makes me that teeny bit more focused. I want us to have an amazing life, full of love and family and adventure. We can't do that with ties to loans with silly payments, or the thought of our next bill looming over us. It's weird how just seeing a snippet of your maybe future gives you so much oomph!
So tomorrow night, I plan on getting back on board with all my old money making ways. Toluna, OnePoll, DooYoo. And for nights when OH is at work there isn't much of an excuse to not destroy my soul with STP.0 -
Had a lovely valentines night. Nothing majorly special. Just a take out and movie like I'd guessed
Chinese, Da Vinci Code, good wine and cuddles. Perfect
The wine was scrummy though. It's only been over the past couple months my taste buds have actually been enjoying wine and not wanting to half it with diet coke. We've got half the bottle left so might polish that off tonight with tea. I *think* we're having turkey with veggies and potato Dolph Zigglers. Or dauphinoise to people who aren't lahlah. I'm pretty blessed I've got a chap who loves cooking neat stuff!
Downloaded the OnePoll app onto my iPhone last night. It's quite smooth and runs quickly so surveys super easy to get done. Earnt 70p so far  Had £20 on my account already from when I did it years ago so fingers crossed it won't take me too long to reach payout level. Also log into Toluna to see where I'm at point wise with them. 17,000 points, so quite a lot to work on. Shame there isn't an app for them!0 -
Actually, thinking aboot it, this past 2 months are the first out of my 238 on this earth that I haven't had a dog.
Ok, I'm feeling very old now, worked out my number and it's a colossal 447 :eek:. I only feel about 20 though, honest
Glad enjoyed Disney, sounds like a great trip - one I'm too old for though0 -
You're never too old for Disney!! No excuses
I've been reading about Disney Cruises! That would be amazing to do one day.
Was speaking to OH last night and we've changed the steps again. We've taken out Step 6. As depending how long it takes us to get everything else done, the loan amount might be too small to make it worth paying the extra for it to be paid off early. So, we might just move straight onto saving for a deposit. We'll see once we've got Mal and £500 for emergencies!
Tea plans changed last night. My Brother came around for a bit to watch RAW (The Rock is back and he was as giddy as a button!) couldn't not feed him so ended up having roast veggies with sausages. So we're having the turkey and dolph zigglers tonight instead.
Looking at OH's work hours and it might be another week of shopping solo. It's just so boring!Going to go too the big supermarket in the city I think, at least it's something different. And the meat reductions are a lot better.
Got back on track with Toluna yesterday, and keeping ontop of onepoll (she says, after a day!) Every bit helps! Started up on another site that I won't mention, as they seem pretty ban happy!0 -
Sat watching really rubbish telly waiting for OH to get home so we can have tea! He was meant to pop home at 5 for an hour so we could eat then, but they've had a problem customer today who was getting aggressive and he didn't want to leave the girl he was working with alone to cope just to be safe if he came back. Very sweet of him, but I'm very hungry! It's all a no brainer meal really, just need to go take the foil off the turkey in a bit.
Back on the STP pony! It isn't that bad now really, you get paid something whatever star rating you're on. Which is good when I tend to hang around the 2 star mark. It's all in dollar and cents now though, which is making me feel richer than I am. Still, see how I get on
Been getting so annoyed with the condensation we get on the windows, all the time. We have single glazing, so it's going to happen but some of the windows just pour. We got a couple of those 'moisture traps' before Christmas, and they help a little but not enough. We can't have trickle vents, and don't have the money for dehumidifiers so we're going old style. First trick we're trying is washing up liquid. I used extra soapy water, then added a little bit of 'neat' washing up liquid to the cloth after wringing it out then attacked the windows with that, drying them using newspaper. Keep on going and checking the windows, then stepping back and feeling rather chuffed with myself. I really don't have anything better to do, do I?0
