Hope the cottage money comes in soon.
Payday for me tomorrow too yay. Is nice you are enjoying buying house things/food etc. I need OH or someone to come shopping with me or I can't lean in the trolly to pick things up, bump gets in the way!0 -
Still no cottage money but we've been busybusybusy today. Changed our holiday money to euros, got everything on our shopping list plus some treats for lunches. Spent £30 after our vouchers then did something pretty naughty and had dinner out with what was left of our grocery budget. But it was yummy, and we don't eat out very often anymore.
Insurance fund stands at £70/500 as of this morning. Getting there!
Seeing how we're not getting the cottage refund before my MOT, I'm going to have to borrow the money off my Dad. But knowing we'll be able to pay him back soonish makes it less painful. He also offered to put some juice in my car. Which is always welcome and very kind of him!
He even gave me £50 today, a little bonus I suppose. I'm putting it to one side for petrol as and when I need it. Have like, £4 to my name in my bank account so I'm having a look at mascaras while Superdrug have free P&P on. Was meant to look today while we were oot and aboot but it completely slipped my mind.0 -
Plenty going about today! We got out holiday refund; £110 into my car account, £300 into OHs. Put back into our holiday account what I 'stole' for OHs birthday account. So everything's looking rather healthy, and I hopefully won't have to borrow for my MOT.
Also been looking at our budget for Feb. It's looking so healthy that I'm worried I've forgotten something, but I'm sure I haven't. Anyways, by the looks of it we'll have £320 saved towards OHs insurance by the end of Feb. How fab is that? He thinks with the £300 from the refund, that will be enough for his insurance but I'm not too sure. Going to get him to search for quotes tonight, seeing how he didn't last week. Just so we know where we stand.
Gave the whole house a massive clean too. And it looks bloody lovely for itI must get it from my Mother, but I seriously love just putting the radio on (todays choice was Thursdays Ramsey Show) and getting stuck in.
Just watching Glee, then I need to get tea on the razzle. Another night of wedges because I luuurve themQuite chuffed at the moment, spent £1.94 on a packet of spuds and we've had 4 meals with them so far. And hopefully enough for next weeks too.

Glad you got your money back, is always nice for the bank balances to look a bit healthier.
Insurance is quite expensive for young men so i would definately get him to check around.0 -
Hello lovely!
Didn't know you had a new diary! I've been thinking I need to start mine/do a new one as I need to organise my thoughts somewhere, and a blog doesn't seem right for that. You don't seem to be blogging as much as usual?
You and Rich seem to be doing great at living together and managing everything. I can't wait to be doing it too!
Got any plans for your birthday? I know it's thinking way ahead but ah well!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21
House Deposit Savings : £8,600/£25,0000 -
Wendz, it is a silly amount! Glad we checked last night as we're actually looking around the £900 mark, not £800. So that's £600 to save over £500. We'll find it though I'm sure. OH has picked up plenty of overtime running up to his Birthday week (45-50hrs per week) so there should be the money. Hows the bump though Wendz? Read on Dinahs thread you were having a lot of midwife appointments last week?
Zig, I know! In all honesty, I just don't know what to blog anymore. I've got a couple posts in my head though, plus one that will basically just be photos from Disney. It's just getting them laid out neatly that I can't seem to do! But yeesss, start/bring up your thread. I like having lots to read on hereEven if you are busy with Uni ect!
No plans for my Birthday as far as I know, but last year I had a surprise party so you never know! It's only my 20th though, not a major landmark one so I'm not expecting a fuss. And how boring does that sound! :rotfl: We're Saturday Birthday Girls this year though, so who knows! Have you got anything planned?
Not much happening today, a little cleaning and baking. RR tonight so want to have a nap at some point. No chance of me staying up that late/long without a little help. I'm such a lightweight!0 -
It is so pricy for insurance isn't it! That's good your OH has overtime though, that will help a lot.
Bump is all good thanksAll measuring OK etc! I had slightly high blood pressure but nothing too much to worry about. Starting to try get more organised as is all coming round very quick.
Ohh you will no longer be a teenager! Saturday is the best day to have a birthday.0 -
It's kind of scary, I'm not at all fussed about being a teenager. I've always thought age is just a number and it's how you behave that matters. I'll never be the type to call myself twenteen but it does all seem very official!
So glad everything's well with the babyIt really doesn't seem like 2 weeks since you posted the good news! Have you thought of any names yet or are you waiting until the birth? My Mum said they wanted to call me Sophie, but I was a big heffa of a baby and thought Sophie was too dainty
Obviously Kate is a fat name!
OH's payday today! So the car insurance fund is now at £170/600 :T So we've kind of saved the extra £100 already. Which is a nicer way to look at it!
He's also sent me £210 for this months bills, and is going to go top up the gas and elec cards while he's at work. Quite impressed with him, I'll admit! I wrote the budget for next month up and put it on the side, and instead of him badgering me for what he needed to transfer me and how much we were putting on what. He actually used these things on his face, I think they call them eyes, and worked it out himself :j
The Royal Rumble was a little bit fantastic last night. Worth staying up until 4 for, and I'm working worryingly well (ooh, alliteration!) on 3 hours sleep. Will no doubt have burnt out and be snoozing my 7 tonight though. My Brother gave us £5 towards the fee, seeing how he didn't bring the crazy one I didn't feel it was all fair he should pay half. Plus he got us some cookies!
Greg has been taken to the garage! Was asking my Dad when they'd be sending the invoice, and he said not to worry as they'd be paying for it*spoilt* I offered to give them 50% of the bill, but Dad said to keep what I've got for my car tax. So I'll do just that. I do have lovely parents!

Ooh was your brother allowed out on his own?! That's good! Glad you enjoyed the Royal Rumble!
LOL at the name change! I agree that Sophie is a dainty name that doesn't suit a big baby, it's a bit like calling a weedy little baby Bruce! My parents couldn't even be bothered to think of a boys name and a girls name so just went with a unisex one... I'm actually named after my dad's old (male!) boss. Even my middle name is the feminine version of my Mum's uncle!
You do have lovely parents for paying for Ol' Greg's MOT, it's good that they're helping you out with the big stuff for the time being, it'll all be a ploy to keep you solvent so you don't come back home! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Afternoon!
Very impressive of your OH using his eyes hehe, I have to write a bill out for my OH and then nag him. He never checks the bill though so I could be making it all up haha.
That is lovely of your parents. Mine did that while I was at uni but sadly have to pay ourselves now and it is being a right pain at the moment.
We have pretty much chose a name but like your Mum did we want to see what she looks like first! I am sure Kate is not a fat name lol. I think there will be quite a few babies named Kate around the time I am due , because of the royal wedding.0
