    Morning!!

Some bitter sweet money news, on one hand we're getting £450 :j but on the other, we had to cancel our 'meant to be going in December but now going in March' holiday. Reason being, they closed everything on site that made it more of a luxury place so we'd be paying way over the odds for the cottage as it stands. They only offered us a £30 refund if we still went or a full refund if we didn't. So OH decided to cancel it. Hey-ho. We've still got Disneyland in a couple weeks and a week holiday in the Summer. This just means the £200 we've got in our holiday spending account will = more euros for snowglobes and candyfloss! And a little Pascal plushie :D

We're splitting it £150 for me and £300 for OH. Which he has promised not to touch and use as a starting block for his insurance savings. So I'll put £100 to one side for my MOT and the £50 to re-pay one of the savers I 'stole' from to buy OHs birthday present  and the change to one side for his Birthday day out!

His pressie btw, is a bit of a bargain. It's a fragrance he's wanted it ever since it came out, so I've been searching for a good price around every 'holiday' but it's always been a little too much. Buuuut, I managed to find the 100ml bottle for £38.50. Went through Quidco for cashback and used a 5% discount code so only cost £34.75. And considering I was going to spend that on 50ml, the fear set in and I couldn't pass it up. His birthday isn't until March mind..

Going to my parents again tonight for tea as OH is working late. Popping by the Supermarket as we've used up all our veggies and fruit so need to restock. Plus some cheese for tomorrows tuna bake. Hopefully it won't cost too much, infact it can't cost too much seeing how we've only got £20 in the bank for it.

Completely forgot to check our gas meter now we've changed the hours on it. But my guess will be £1.50 a day. Text OH to ask him to check it and text me before he goes to work so I'll know soon enough if he remembers..

Just taking a little coffee (well, water I suppose..) break at work before I crack on with the rest of the to-do list. Spent all morning changing the Office around and it looks so much better, it seriously needed a re-jig!

Aww, I'm sorry you had to cancel your holiday. It is a lot of money to just stay in a regular non-luxury cottage though so I think you've made a good decision! And like you said, you'll have more spendies for Disneyland which I'm sure you'll be thankful for!

Well done on the bargain present for your OH, just don't do the kind of thing that I do which is get bored of hiding it and produce it as a nice 'treat' one day... then realise that you've got to get something else special when his birthday actually does arrive!

Hey Birdie! I was a little glum over the holiday, I was really looking forward to it! But OH reeled off this massive list of how we're better off for not going so I'm quite thankful now. We've still got our 'free' holiday in June too. It's right on a fishing lake so we're planning plenty of relaxing days, OH fishing and me drinking too much wine and reading plenty of good books. That's if we get a nice Summer again!

Saw the pictures on facebook of your hen weekend btw, it looked amazing! So very you :D Not long until the big day now, hows all the planning for the home party going? I really need to catch up on your thread!

The kind of thing you do is the thing I always do, I'm surprised I managed to keep all my Christmas presents unwraps for as long as I did last year. My plan is to just hide it away and try to forget about it. Try very hard!

Reminds me actually, I got me, my Brother and Sister tickets to see Russell Howard next month. Forgot all about that! :o The tickets are long paid for, just need to find money for petrol and tea. Ohh, and my Brother is coming over on the 30th to watch the Royal Rumble with OH, he said he'll pay for half of the Box Office costs though so that's no too bad. Plus I get to drool over John Cena, John Morrison and Randy Orton :blushing:

Hehe my Hen weekend was brilliant, everyone looked like complete nutters, it was hilarious! The dress is in ruins though, I kept standing on it and ended up with little pink threads attached to everything! We got a lot of comments though, it seems like Barbie isn't a very common dress-up theme! And you certainly don't find many girls wearing massive pink dresses, normally they wear as little as possible! :D

I've had a minor panic over the home party as we've got next to nothing sorted for it. Dad's offered to do the food but we still need a DJ, a wedding cake and decorations. My friend had offered to do the cake (after a bottle of wine...) but she's on holiday until the day of the party so she can't do it unless she gets someone in her cafe to make it. I had wanted all doughnuts but OH isn't mad on the idea so we're trying to get a cake/doughnut mix! I've asked a guy from work to man the photo booth (that's only half sorted!) buy he's being a bit of an arty farty diva about it, keeps showing me his 'work' and asking me to show OH... I'm like, 'Listen mate, I just want a bloke with a camera and a tripod to take some silly pictures for 2 hours, just tell me how much you'll charge' but he keeps saying we'll have to sit down and discuss my requirements... Artists, eh?! I've also e-mailed a few steel bands to see if they'll be at all affordable so I'm waiting to see what happens, they'll probably be way out of our price range!

I never had you pegged as a wrestling lover! :rotfl:

What's not to love about stupidly fit, oiled up men throwing each other about wearing next to nothing..? :happyhear OH says when we're rich we should go over to America for on of the bigger shows, he's loved it since he was a kid :D

Oh gee, I can understand why you're stressed. And the photo man does sound like a bit of a diva. Most likely just wants to get it right, bless him! Hope you manage to find a steel band in your price range, they would kind of be the cherry on top of the cake if you did!

I used to watch it with my brother when I was younger, my girlfriends thought I was so weird for knowing about wrestling! OH's best friend is totally obsessed, whenever he comes round he'll get us up to date with the story lines and show us his favourite clips on youtube since we don't have Sky! They film at Universal Studios in Florida regularly apparently so OH hopes that we can catch a show which would be awesome, but I know he'll get overexcited and try out the moves on me and I'll end up n tears... it's happened before! ;)

I've found out the the arty farty diva photographer has been passing tips onto another guy in the office who's just getting into photography so I might just walk over to both of them and say, '£50, 2 hours, photos on a memory stick. Who'll do it?!'

Sounds like a good plan with the photo-men Birdie! I know a girl who charges £600-800 for a party. Mind, she takes amazing photos and spends hours afterwards photoshopping each frame perfectly.

Plan of going to my parents fell through. Turns out both of them would be working most of the night so I'd be sat on my lonely quite a bit. So I came straight home from work and was faffing around for a bit, then my Brother popped by which was lovely! He hardly ever comes to ours and when I go to my parents he's barely there as his girlfriend is a little.. controlling at best. I'm actually surprised he's being allowed out solo for the rumble.

Anyways, the new plan is to go into town tomorrow, meet my Mum and brave the market for the fruit and veg. It's cheaper, and supports local businesses. Always a bonus!

So tonight for tea we're having, chinese style pork steaks with egg fried rice. I was going to get it ready for when OH gets home but he's decided he wants to cook. Lord knows why but I won't stop the chap.

Hey Dizzy :D And that's really sweet, thank you! I like to think I've got a cheerful outlook but OH says it's an annoying outlook. But now it's us 2 against his 1, so we must be right!

Checked my bank this morning and no, no millionaires have decided to anonymously send me some money. Oh well! Payday tomorrow, so whatever I spend shopping today can be stolen from next weeks grocery budget and we'll have some to put in a saver.

Was thinking last night, as I was cringing at The Joy of Teenage Sex. I'm only a teenager for another 66 days! In all fairness, I always forget I'm a teenager. I know I don't really act like one, or even dress or speak like one so I'm actually looking forward to it! Although, it does seem a little final. Like yep, that's it. You're officially grown up!

Had a little sleep in this morning. Got up at 8:15, I know. Crazy! Setting off to my old town to meet my Mum for market day. All ready to get me some veg! We had to use some of those steam bags last night with the rice, and though most of the veg in them turns out quite nice. Frozen carrots are always stupidly soggy and kind of rubbery. Bleh!

Hope everyone has a nice day :D It's looking kind of sunny out there!

Shopping turned out well! Spent £17 and filled the cupboards with fruit and veg. Restocked the fridge with milk, eggs and some sandwich filler OH loves too. Will need to go shopping next week, but will just be for meat and lunch bits.

My Mum was as lovely as always and sent me home with a bag of goodies. 3 pairs of jeans that are too small for her now, a little travel pot of face cream for the trip to Disneyland, and some 'just add water' bread flour that she never got around to using. Plus a big bag of crisps, and some headlight bulbs for OHs car. So feeling very spoilt!

Tonight we're fiiinally having the tuna bake I've been wanting for ages, got a recipe online and it sounds delish! Going to use one of the bread bagthings that my Mum gave me to make us some bread rolls to go with!

Looking forward to getting paid tomorrow. Make some money magic happen!
