Hey Dizzy :D And that's really sweet, thank you! I like to think I've got a cheerful outlook but OH says it's an annoying outlook. But now it's us 2 against his 1, so we must be right!

So between the 2 of us we'll call it a sunny outlook, best way to be :T

I'm a realist too though; the grass may look greener on the other side but it'll still need mowing! That said, no reason not to find the good in things and see the best side of a situation...

    Enjoy your tuna bake :)

Exactly. I can see the clouds too but there isn't much use in focusing on them. Either way, you've got to keep going. And I'd much rather keep going with happier thoughts!

Gone into all our accounts this morning to figure out payment dates. And it looks like they're all going to hit next Tuesday, so at least I just need to do one chunk of money-movement instead of lots of little ones everyday.

The tuna bake was lovely thanks Dizzy! :D And the bread buns went quite well too, but because it was all pasta and bread I filled up really quickly. Will make less bake next time! It was a recipe for 4 though, and I halved it, but it still could have easily fed 3. Odd!

Forgot to say yesterday that the woman I split shifts in the office with wants me to work the next 2 Thursdays for her. So, of course I snatched them up. Will be an extra £60ish in 4 weeks time which is always welcome. I do love my job though so I'm oddly looking forward to the extra days there.

Plenty to do at home today, cleaning up first then I've got a little painting to do. Mainly gloss, as well as the downstairs toilet because OH forget he needed to paint the high bits in there on Monday. Hopefully I can reach on a ladder! Want to get this done in the morning so I can have a lazy afternoon :D

But during my lazy afternoon I'm going to get all our bits back on Amazon. We made about £150 last year just selling odd books and dvds on there so hopefully we can make a little more this year to go towards OHs car insurance. As I know he has that £300 from the holiday refund, but I have no idea how he's going to make up the rest.

I like your sunny outlook too; only miserable people would think it's annoying! :)

Good news about the extra hours, £60 makes a difference when things are a bit tight! I really need to get all of our old CDs on Amazon, I sold a load of DVDs last year and made a fair bit, although it was a pain having to go to the Post Office every other day, and I always got the same woman. Think she started looking out for me. I went in last week for the first time in ages and she greeted me like an old friend!

Your Mum sounds lovely, mine always sends me home with presents and care packages too! I'm a bit worried about something that was said last night when I saw her and my SIL, they were talking about my 2nd Hen Party when we're away and they said I didn't need to worry about having a special dress because they had one sorted, then started giggling wickedly! Worried! _pale_

Oh dear, everytime I come on here, I get hungry! All this talk of tasty food.

Sorry to hear about your holiday being cancelled Cinny but having others to look forward to will more than make up for it. We're not going away til November and thought about trying to sneak a week in before then, everything is so expensive though.

Whoops, sorry Swinstie! :D Hope you're feeling better! I love Winter holidays, are you staying in the UK or tootling off abroad?

Well today is the day. 2 months in and OHs family are finally coming to see the house! I'm a little worried about seating though, we have a 2.5 seater sofa and a chair. Can easily seat 4, but we've got OHs Mum and Stepdad, Grandma and his youngest Brother and Sister coming. Plus us. OH dear, I suggested to OH we just let them into the living room in groups but he didn't seem keen :rotfl:

Not much at all to report moneywise today. Nothing in, nothing out! Still waiting on that refund money, OH is getting itchy about it but it could be up to 7 days till we get it. So Tuesday?

Decided we fancied hash browns last night, which turned out really scrummy but were a total faff. Had a bit of a twitter saga with it as OH was going loopy. Don't think we'll be making them again for a while anyways with all the frying!

But I better get a move on, wanting the house to sparkle a little more than normal today :D Though I just turned to OH and said something and it came out in a very thick Yorkshire accent. I think I need to move back to Nottingham for a bit to get my accent back.

Hey Cinny, don't be worrying too much about the accent, I moved from South Yorkshire when I was a small child as my parents divorced, although I still have family in that area and I visit from time to time. Despite living 'down south' for more years than I care to count (20 something, god I'm getting old :D) every now and then I still get very broad Yorkshire slip back in!!! More so after a glass or three of Pinot!

The wonderful thing is it's the kindest, friendliest, most welcoming accent there ever could be and even though I am after all these years, an offical 'southern softy', South Yorkshire & the accent will always make me feel like I've arrived home

LOL about the hash browns and hope all was well with OH' family visit. Hope it didn't matter too much about the chairs. There's always levitating!!

Hahah, I love that levitating smilie! :D Thankfully we didn't have to call on our zen powers. They bought 2 of their Newfoundlands with them so stayed in the Kitchen to keep an eye on them. So everyone was just leaning on sides or sat at the table. Bar OHs little brother who found the sofa and TV remote so zoned out from everyone.

Was lovely seeing them though, I wish we could get to theirs more often or it wasn't so difficult for them to get here. But such is life I guess!

I'm not too bothered about getting a Yorkshire accent. Like you said, it is a really friendly accent. But I quite liked my old one, I just sound weird coming out all Yorkshire-style but I can't seem to stop it :o

Had a treat last night, OH won some money on a silly bet so that = Chinese, Wine and some money on the gas card for extra heat. Finished the night stuffed, slightly dazed and overly snug watching Law Abiding Citizen until 1 in the morning. Which, by the way, has the worst ending ever! Jamie Lee Fox should've got it. Not impressed! And I know I'm like a, year behind on that movie or something. But still!

Anyways, not much going on today. My Parents are coming over later on, I'd love to say it's to see me but they record stuff on our Sky box and come over to watch it. Cheeky gits! :D But still, I get to see them and they're bringing stuff to cook for tea so that's one meal we don't need to fuss about. So I'm just cleaning and lazing about today, might get some stuff on the list done though.

Little update on the Royal Rumble night. My Brothers lovely Girlfriend has decided she's coming. Which is pretty remarkable considering she wasn't even invited. She always does this, invites herself and spends the whole night complaining about how she wants to go. Beh! We're steadily looking less forward to it now. But, honestly, what can we say?

But in happier news, just under 2 weeks until Disneyland! :T

ETA: Change of plans, the new Dave Ramsey podcast has pinged into my iTunes so I think I'm going to listen to that and make some muffins for next week instead. Much nicer than being lazy!

Change of plans after my change of plan. I've spent most of the day on the sofa feeling rotten. I only drank 2 glasses last night but it felt like my head was going to fall off. My own fault I know, good job I didn't really have much to do today!

Got an email from Amazon today, I've sold the game I put on a couple days ago. £23 after postage, which is nice and welcome. Means I can put some petrol in my car when we get it.

Was lovely as always having my parents over, tea was scrummy and my Dad and OH continued their bonding (though I'm sure after near 6 years they're already pretty bonded) while me and my Mum faffed about the place. Managed to force feed them some left over mince pies so we don't have so many of them in the cupboard anymore.

Downloaded the Dave Ramsey podcast to my phone, will give me something to listen too on the way to work, and my little wander to the Post Office after work.

I'm overly sleepy now, it's kind of silly. Trying to keep myself entertained while OH watches Top Gear. All the other shows he likes I can deal with, but not this one!

Hi Wendz :D Yep, I'm feeling way better this morning, was my own fault for drinking though. Hope you're well!

Still no money from the Cottage people. OH is starting to get tiddly over it, though I've told him to wait until Wednesday before he calls them up. I think he just wants the security of the £300 in his bank ready to start building on for his car insurance.

He's going to do a couple comparison searches today just to get an idea of how much we'll need to save. Not even going to guess at how much we'll need to find. But I know it'll be a matter of every spare penny being put to one side for it for the next couple months. Then a month of saving for the June holiday, followed by a month of saving for my car tax and then hopefully we can start making some dents in the car loan. This is like, July time though! Blemmin' cars :D

Was walking to work listening to the Dave Ramsey podcast, which kind of puts it all back in my mind why we're doing this. 'Debt is Dumb, Cash is King' Only got about 5 minutes in before my Dad pulled up along side me and gave me a lift. But I've got the walk to the Post Office and home again after work to listen to a nice chunk.

I know we're having a lot of bill set backs atm, but I'm still as motivated as ever to get this patch over with and start on the car loan. Right now though, I need to switch the motivation onto saving for the car insurance. If we can do it, and not have to take the insurance on a payment plan this year, that'll be £100 a month instantly freed up come May. But I'll scratch my last statement, it's not a matter of can. Because we will, no two ways about it!
