    Good luck for today.

Although it may make you cross, I strongly feel you need to post your SOA here, but that is your choice. Yes, you managed to keep your insurance at the level you'd been paying by threateneing to go elsewhere, but that is standard. Have you followed Martin's step-by-step procedure to really batter it down? I'll be doing this for my car insurance - reminder came yesterday.

Have you actually looked for the template letters and advice in the relevant headings at the top of this page:
Step-by-step Guides: Problem Debts | Budget Planner | MoneySaving Makeover | Boost Your Income | The Demotivator | IVA Guide | Credit Ratings | Interest Rates |Danger Minimum Repayments

There are lots of stalwarts out there - tixy, fermi, GeorgeUK and loads of others, who have put excellent advice on here.

This is the SOA link, which is sensible for you to have for CCCS
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan
    - or anyone who is helping you. You'll also see your debt reducing and other figures changing for the better.

I suspect you feel I'm being a little harsh with you, but it is caringly done, for while you FEEL your debt management plan is workable/adequate/under your control, and that you are canny with shopping/renewals/quotes/contracts{which I don't doubt], you are still feeling sick, uncertain about letter responses and not able to see what other msers here may offer through their hard-won knowledge and experience.

It was for someone else that Martin kindly responded to a pm I wrote last year and I am pleased to quote that in my siggy.

I hope you will re-consider and put up your SOA.

    Once again, good luck today.

Thanks for your message, it is appreciated.

I was feeling sick because I was worried I wouldn't be able to open another bank account. I have today been able to do just that so feel tremendous relief.

Thanks for your concern. I do appreciate there is a lot of of knowledge etc on here and I'm grateful for that and the amazing support I've received from so many. I'm satisfied with the DMP I have with CCCS and the support they are giving me. If I ever feel the need to post a SOA at a later date I will do so, but I don't at the moment. Please let me do what I feel is right for me. I really appreciate your concern , though would be grateful if you can respect how I feel on this subject for now. Thanks though for taking the time to post :)
  • Hi all,

I'm so relieved that there was no problem with opening an account today with Barclays. I was honest about the DMP and the lady was really lovely about everything. So now I have a bank account with a bank where I definietely have no debts!! The sense of relief is amazing.

I have heard today that one of my creditors (MBNA) has refused to accept the reduced payment offer made by CCCS. They are going to send the payment anyway and I know that MBNA can't refuse to accept it. CCCS say it's likely that MBNA will hand the debt over to a collection agency. MBNA haven't actually written to me yet.

In spite of this I feel a lot better than I have a while (esp now I've sorted the bank problem!) and feel I'm in good hands with CCCS.

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

Hi B17c, glad that your creditoras are accepting reduced payments:) MBNA has refused to accept mine - it's funny how different people have different experiences with creditors isn't it? Fingers crossed for the rest of your creditors! x

Thanks Pink Angel...good news about bank account, yay!
I wonder if there is any rhyme or reason to it at all... maybe they have a quota of accepts and rejects? or if its all randomly computor generated... it seems odd that some people have no calls or bother and some get 30 calls a day! its not fair, as everyone is sailing the good ship DMP and therefore unable to pay!:(
yet to hear from the other two...
has your DMP started now? x

It's very strange. I've just posted on a thread of someone else who has had their payment offer rejected, and somebody said that with MBNA is seems pretty random, sometimes they accept, sometimes they don't. All very odd.....

My DMP has started now, first payment is going to my creditors on 25th!! I do feel so much better now. The creditor situation isn't pleasant, but there is a lot of helpful info in the DMP pack on online about it all, and I feel I'm doing something positive about my debts. It's just a step at a time, but I feel it's in the right direction now!:) It's good to see my bank account in credit. (I realise I'm well and truly in the red, but as my debts have been increasing each month, this feels like a big step forward!!)

Hope you are doing ok x
