Can't believe the mess I'm in!

  • What a difference a day can make! Since I've been able to open my new bank account things have felt so much better. I've had a letter from MBNA today, which was actually ok. They haven't accepted the payment offer because it's not the minimum amount I should be paying and therefore my account will default. But they have frozen the interest (yay!!) and providing the payment offered by CCCS continues to be made then I get the feeling there won't be too many problems with them. I've had a letter from another creditor, they have made no reference to my DMP but want to phone with my SOA. As I know CCCS have been in contact with them about everything, I may just send a polite letter referring to this fact. So far, it all feels ok. I've had no phone calls as of yet.

I'm looking for an extra job that can offer me a few hours. Every little helps!!

I feel as if a great weight has been lifted off me and better than I have in a long, long time!!!!:)

Hope everyone is ok, have a good weekend x
  • Glad you feel so positive. I bet the bank thing has made you feel so much better. I had two calls on my mobile from co op bank but I don't answer numbers I dont recognise. I let them go to voicemail. I'll not call back, I've wrote to them with paypal details.

It's nice to longer have a griping tummy when the post arrives! :rotfl:

Good that you were able to screen the calls! :) I've read on here to keep communication to written only. There are so many knowledgable and supportive people on this site, it makes such a difference.

Hope you're feeling ok today too :)

  • Hello All

Hope you all are well and staying positive!

I have given Payplan the go ahead to start my DMP (finally) so am awaiting to hear from my case handler in the next few days.

Should I write to the creditors with the DMP information at this stage or would you just send them a letter explaining the difficulties at present with a token payment?

I'm getting so many calls everyday (I don't answer them) so would like a little advise as which way is best to play it.

Do I tell them about the DMP before it's properly set up or just ask them to keep all contact in writing now until I have further details?

Any advice would help right now!

    Thanks! x

    Hi missindependant,

your case officer will go through all of this when she calls you. You can tell all of your creidtors about the DMP and tell them to contact us, but do not tell your bank if you have debts with them until you have a new safe bank account.
With regards to your creditors, you will receive a pack in the next couple of days hopefully that will have some template letters in for you to copy and send to your creditors.

As I said your case officer will explain it all when they call so just sit tight.

  • Thanks Lizzy, do you have a template asking creditors to keep all contact via letter please?

    Thanks

I don't have any of the letters but once you receive the call from your case officer they will give you log in details for Justabank and their are lots of templates on their.

    Hi Miss I

Template letter for all communication in writing is here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=11571485&postcount=4
You could combine that with a letter explaining you are seeking financial advice and offering a token payment - see here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=21937969&postcount=50
