Can't believe the mess I'm in!

Hi Pink Angel and everyone, hope you're all ok?
I had a bit of a shock today... had recieved a letter from CCCS saying first payment would be coming out of my account on 1st March (prev had been 1st Feb but was a bit late sending all the paperwork back...ooopps!)
Imagine my surprise when i checked my account today and found i had less money than i thought.... CCCS took it out today!!! now i'm short because i'd factored that money into my budget!
When i got in i checked my paperwork and the DD form for the new account says 10th feb... but then why send me a letter after that saying 1st March... poo!
xx
Sorry that's happened to you B17c!! Not good that it's left you short:( Hope you'll be ok x0 -
Thanks to all those who have posted, and for sharing your experiences. Debt certainly isn't much fun, what our age or situations. But at least we are all facing up to our problems and trying to do something positive about it. Yes, it will take time to get out of the mess, but then it took time to get into the mess in the first place!! And we have each other ... to support to each other and to be supported when we are having a bad day. That's something I'm really grateful for

I don't know what I'd do without the support of you all. It's certainly giving me strength to deal with all this. Thanks to all of you. xSecond and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0

So MBNA agreed to stop interest on my credit card debt..... I thought that would really help with being able to put all the money being paid to them towards the debt. However, although they are not charging me interest, they are obviously to be slapping on £12 default chages each month for not making their minimum payment. At least it isn't full interest, but still annoying all the same!!! There's also a nice little threat at the bottom is bold capitals saying YOU HAVE FAILED TO MAKE A MINIMUM PAYMENT. FAILING TO MAKE YOUR MINIMUM PAYMENT CAN MEAN YOU HAVE BROKEN THE TERMS OF THIS CREDIT AGREEMENT AND COULD RESULT IN US TAKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST YOU. Nice!!:( On the plus side, having seen how much their minimum payment is now, I'm so glad I set up a DMP because I just couldn't have met the payment.
Anyway, my first DMP payment has been collected from my account, so it's now officially up and running. First payments to my creditors will be made on 25th.
Still waiting to hear about two credit card debts and whether payments will be accepted or not.
Otherwise things are ok :A0 -
Just found out that Ebay have a free listings weekends where it's free to list auction items of any value so going to get cracking with putting a lot of things on there to hopefully make some extra cash. I'm putting some clothes I've never worrn/rarely wear on there too. It's hard parting with some of them, BUT I have far too many clothes and I haven't worn some items in ages, so need to be ruthless!!:)
I'm off to the college later to get my hair cut:eek: I'm a bit nervous about it, but my hairdresser is a graduate so will (hopefully) know what they are doing. And it's MUCH cheaper than my usual salon.
Hope everyone is doing ok :A0 -
Hey Pink Angel, glad to hear that the DMP is now up and running, thats great news. Re the college hair cut, i did this last month and it was really very good, the tutors have to go over the cut at various stages, takes a bit longer but I think I actually got a better cut than my usual salon, and at £40.00 cheaper, i will definately go again. They also do cut price beauty treatments so will treat myself to one of those at some point, and at £5.00 for an elemis facial you can't go wrong!
Good luck with ebay this weekend, I have made £330.00 since January selling the mountains of clothes and shoes that I don't wear anymore. It is difficult to part with some things, but I tell myself if i haven't worn it in the last year then it has to go. I have space in my wardrobes for the first time in about 10 years!!
Good luck to you, and hope you have a fantastic weekend.
Keep on truckin Dolly x

Thanks for your post Dolly. I'm very impressed with your total from Ebay so far - well done!! Yes it's hard parting with some things but as you say, if you haven't worn them in a year then it's time to be ruthless!
I'm very impressed with my hair cut, and with how much money I saved on it!! I quite fancy a neck and shoulder massage (it's £2.50!!!) so may treat myself, plus it will help with all the tension my neck
I'm waiting for all my direct debits to come out of my account so I can get them transferred to my new bank account. It will be good when that is done.
It's Valentine's Day today and I don't have a OH to spend it with
But on the plus side I haven't had to spend any money on it!!:) 0 -
I occasionally treat myself to college beauty treatments. My local college charges £10 for 3. I usually get bikini and leg wax plus eye last tint. It's amazing value and although you don't get the ambience of a spa like salon, it's so worth it!
Im working nights all this weekend as overtime to boost my rainy day fund. I'm looking forward to climbing into bed at 8 am!Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
I must say I've had a pedicure at the local college and although as you say they aren't as ambient as a spa they are very good value for me...hadn't thought about haircuts..shall investigate this week.0
