Can't believe the mess I'm in!

Dont feel down B17, thousands of people are in the same boat and many not through frivolous spending. I think it's a sign of the times having easy credit (our parents has to go face a bank manager and beg for a loan). I also think the skill of household budgeting has been lost in the last couple of generations.
I too am single and feel my attention must be focused on getting my debt paid off, not on meals out and updating my lingerie collection
I've sent off my token payments this weekend and have switched from shame to feeling empowered!
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
Morning Pink Angel
I hope that your a bit better this morning It's a nightmare when your unable to sleep, been doing a lot of that later have got CAB tomorrow so we can get things moving. having some time out from dating is proberbly the best right night it will give you time to get your head straight. hoping you have a reasonable day today.

Thanks Honeybear. No, really not looking for a new man at the moment! Good luck with CAB appointment tomorrow. You're right, not sleeping isn't much fun.
Hope things are ok with you and you've had a good day:)0 -

Hi Honeybear, I'm so sorry to hear that! Not what you need. Let us know how you get on at the bank. At least you're going to CAB soon and hopefully they'll have some good advice for you.
I'm ok thanks. I'm relieved that my my cancelled direct debit for my loan payment worked. So far the bank has taken it anyway, as that would have sent me over my overdraft limit. I'm pretty stressed - not sleeping well and I've had a headache the last couple of days.
Still, onwards and upwards ....
Take care x0 -
Hi Angel...Just read the whole of this Thread and I so admire what you are doing!!! You are amazing to have gotten this under control...whereas I am still in the weeds having had a LBM about 2 years ago and still in so much mess after ignoring it for far too long!!
I'm determined that I'm going to get my Debts sorted out this month...even if it means sending off several Letters to my Debtors and living on Baked beans for a week or two!!
Anyway...Just wanted to say how much I admire you and I'm just about to subscribe to your Thread....I'll try to post on here when I can...Things can be difficult for me right now....but I'm getting there.0 -

Hi Hun
went to natwest and got the usaual spill (can't do anything hear) so rang them up and was told that they would refund as a good will gesture the charges due at the end of this month so didn't really get anywhere as it was their charges that took me over the limit this month and then have the nerve to charge again so rather than £40 down only £20 instead:mad: they then wnet on to inform that they are changing their charging system and that unarranged borrowing will be charged at a DAILY rate instead, so watch out all those who are NATWEST customers.:money:0 -

Sorry to hear that Honeybear! Banks are a joke aren't they?!:(
Hope you're ok x0 -
Found out today that I was given wrong advice from CCCS. I checked whether it would be ok to open a new account for my DMP with Natwest (as I have a MINT CC debt). I was told it would be fine. So Ive opened new account, arranged for salary to be swapped, along with direct debits. I spoke to CCCS today and the man I spoke has told me I need to open a new account because MINT can take money out of my Natwest account. It's actually a Natwest CC!! So I'm feeling pretty stressed and upset. I'm going to Barclays on Friday and just hoping that they will let me have a basic bank account, as it's no long ago I opened one with Natwest. And what if I fail a credit check now??:(
Just feels such a mess and I was trying so hard
:( And now I'm going to be worrying until Friday!!:( 0 -
I've just been on Justabank which is Payplans online system. It's interesting to see what they are offering each creditor. I feel quite empowered now but still slightly jittery at not having credit card at my disposal in case something goes wrong this month and I run out of cash.
I did ok today, I took my car through car wash but half way through cycle the machine broke down twice! I was in a rush so decided to put up with a slightly foamy car and got my money back. I never thought I'd see the day when I was so excited to get £2.75 back! And my car looked pretty clean anyway at the end!Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0
