  • Just imagine still having that mindset when debts paid off, and amassing savings!!!

I'm looking forward to that day Squirrel!!:)
  • I'm a bit concerned that I haven't heard anything yet regarding my DMP. I've had confirmation from CCCS that my first direct debit will be coming out of my account in a few days. But I've heard nothing yet from my creditors. To be honest I was expecting to after sending my template letters. Maybe the deluge will start once I stop making payments to the creditiors? I've made a couple of token payments to a creidtors where payments are due before the DMP starts. I'm going to ring CCCS on Monday morning as they aren't open over the weekend. I can't work out whether it's not going to be as horrifc as I feared, or whether this is the calm before the storm!
  • Hi pink angel!

Just read thru your thread and have to say how well you have done so far,and what great support you have.
We went with CCCS about 2 years ago now and i can honestly say how easy it was. The old call we did get, when we told them we were on a dmp with cccs they were fine and did not trouble us again, and now i even forget we are apart from the odd letter which we just refer to cccs.
The shopping thing i completely get,i have stopped going into town the amount of times i used to,because if i don't see it,i don't want it!!! Lovely though when, say, you have a spare £50 or birthday money to go and buy a few bits. I think now before i buy, what actually goes with what i have in my wardrobe at home to make a new outfit...or i buy on ebay,by selling things i don't wear, like a swop shop really!
Good luck with everything,it really isn't that bad at all!! xx

Thanks so much for your response and good wishes, much appreciated. I have to say that from the chats I have with CCCS I have found them excellent and very supportive. I really do hope it will be as straightforward as has been for you. I'm hoping the fact I have always paid on time before will help, as at least I haven't been messing my creditors around, and now I've realised I'm in trouble I have got help to deal with the problem.

    Thanks again x

this is my situation too, exactly! I could've posted this word for word... not a nice feeling. My guess is that they'll start contacting us when they start getting reduced payments via CCCS... x

    Hi B17c,

It's a weird feeling isn't it? My DMP first payment will be on 10 Feb. My loan payment is due on 1 Feb and won't be made, so I guess I'll probably start hearing from the bank after that (gulp). I do feel like I'm in limbo at the moment ....

Hope you're ok in spite of it all x

Having a bit of a "woe is me" day today, i'll be ok... have lots going on in my life other than the debt worry and not feeling on top of it today!

My first DMP payment is the 1st Feb which is also the day my loan goes out of my old account... i haven't closed that account (my loan is with my old bank) and i've been told that they may just take it out anyway, even tho there is no money in that account, i'm overdrawn, and i've cancelled the direct debit... so then they'll charge me etc...

feeling quite down about it all.... trying to stay upbeat coz i know there wasn't any other option and at least i'm doing something about it, but i'm living with my grandparents at the moment, i'm 33 next month and at this rate i wont be moving out until i'm 40!!! what a great catch for a possible admirer!! not...

Anyhoo, moan over! sorry to offload on you, have a lovely rest of your sunday xx:beer:

The United Kingdom plc is bankrupt, broke, insolvent. Do you ever hear politicians fessing up and apologising?

Hey, it's important to talk and not bottle things up. I'm sorry you are feeling down. It's important to hang on to the fact you knew there wasn't any option, and you are doing something positive about your situation. Regarding your living with your grandparents, a decent guy who likes you for you won't be put off by this, or your situation. (When I lived at my mum's it didn't affect me finding boyfriends.) I'm single at the moment, and to be honest I feel I couldn't afford to be dating anyone right now. I wouldn't expect anyone to pay for me, and it can be expensive going out all the time.

I cancelled the direct debit for my loan, but like you my loan is with my bank and they may take the payment anyway, sending me well over my overdraft:( I'm going to put a little bit of money in that bank account just in case, but it'll be just a token amount really.

I can't sleep as I've been thinking about things. I'm going to ring CCCS tomorrow before work to see if they can tell me anything.

    Take care x
