I always keep some in in case i don't have fresh lemons. Then i can always make butter milk (providing i have milk of course!)

It's not synthetic then because it's real juice - I thought you mean something artificial!

Zip, I have some of the coarse wholemeal flour. I used it yesterday. Needed to give it longer in the oven and it was still a wee bit doughy. I also sieved too much bran out of it. I would say, sieve just a couple of ounces of it til you have maybe a tsp of the bran. Otherwise you be hoovering up bits from everywhere!!!!!! There will be far too much to sprinkle on top, but for me it was too late to put it back in the mixture as the bread had already risen!

Has anybody tried her brownie recipe yet? I have tried making brownies a few times and they have NEVER worked for me, no matter which recipe I use. My kids would love these, and they would be great to freeze for visitors. ( If I didn't freeze them, I would have to eat them!!!!)

No problem it's from her newest book Kitchen.

Chopped Chocolate (she used 2 yorkies but I tend to use Bourneville/Dairy Milk the sort of biggish bar thats around about £1)
    150g butter
    300g light muscovado sugar
    75g cocoa powder
    150g plain flower
    teaspoon bicarb
    vanilla essence
    4 beaten eggs.

Melt butter, sugar and cocoa together in a pot, once melted add flour and bicarb, add in your eggs, mix again. Then add in your chopped chocolate, I tend to keep some chocolate back for sprinkling ontop once they're in the dish.

    Bake @ 190 for 20 mins :)

Make sure you have your eggs beaten before hand 'cause the mixture becomes very thick very quickly, first time I made them, I didn't have my eggs ready, got myself into abit of a mess.

Also if you have no chopped chocolate or muscovado then just use caster sugar and up the butter to 175g and the cocoa to 100g.

    They turn out like this
