After watching a few episodeds I still haven't warmed to this programme. Don't get me wrong, the presenter is very lovely and obviously good at what she does . BUT. I can't help feeling it's called the wrong thing. I started watching the programme with the anticipation of learning new baking recipes but they seem few and far between. I guess it is open to interpretation but to me, mac cheese or baked prawns are not classed as baking. Neither is baked ham etc. Fab recipes - but not what I'm hoping to see with a title like "baking made easy".....

I think she chats just a little too much, im just thinking - come on, get to the point! Maybe that's just me. I just find I come away from watching the show quite agitated to be honest. It's not a criticism of her skill, but I think she would have been better to call it "cooking made easy", not baking made easy.

  • i can't believe she's always in white tops, how on earth does she manage to keep them clean (have to say i'm quite enjoying this series) (not as much as the oh who has fallen for her in a big way )

I'm really enjoying this show... Some really simple but nice recipes and I quite like Lorraine's style too!

    I made the breadsticks tonight:

They are delicious! I made some with salt and pepper, some with sesame seeds and some with cheese. They are all good but the sesame seeds are all falling off so I need to figure a way to 'stick' them on next time.

I don't remember who asked but they are crunchy on the outside with just a bit of softness inside. They're not bready really because there's no fat.

    All six are here now.

The 2 Sally Bee ones are great. I decided to get them as I worry about DH & his weight & his heart. He's a big man & now over weight, the doctor told him as he's now in his 40s he stands a much increased rate of a heart attack in 10 years if he doesn't shift some weight.
    Great books, really useable recipes.

The Gill Holcombe ones aren't up to much, too basic, I will pass these on to DD.
The blue Gill Holcombe one is good, thats why I bought the yellow & pink one....

The soup book is great, BUT I would much prefer it grouped into sections of similar soups rather than all mixed up.

wow, can i first say the breadsticks look gorgeous, think I will add those to my to do list tomorrow. I have just made the bakewell tart and hope it tastes as good as it looks! quick question, was going to make the shortbread that she made the other night, thought i had all the ingredients in but then see its rice flour (i thought it was ground rice) - could I substitute anything or am i going to have to wait until I next visit a shop. Many thanks and enjoy your baking!
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

this thread suggests you can make your own by grinding rice :) or if you google making rice flour you will see plenty of ideas
