I couldn't stand Sophie Dahl's presenting in that programme but her chicken soup is actually to die for! The most amazing soup ever (although not very thrifty) I like this new lady's presenting style. It's simple and not trying to be another personality chef but a good cook.Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790

I made the oreo brownies; after sharing them with a friend & her child + taking them into the office, they were gone in a flash.
I have made many a brownie, these are far and away the best I have EVER made!
The blow torch she used last night looked a bit scary for my liking though, eeek! Now totally debt free & it feels better than anything money can buy!
Next stop - savings pot for house deposit :j0 -

I have to confess, I dont like the show...Dont know why tho.
Im not a big Nigella fan either, but some of her recipes are brill. Ditto Jamie, (I swear he'd drizzle Olive Oil on cornflakes!) But I lurrrrrve Hugh FW (I have a crush, I need help!) I like his recipes/books and programme0 -

I'm loving this new presenter; she's great! I was watching it last night after University challenge and she was making all sorts of great stuff - big, salt and pepper breadsticks and other things. I love the fact that her kitchen is uber modern and chic - fits in well with the style of programme. I love cooking programmes anyway, but not all ofthem are as good as this one. Move over Jamie Oliver!0 -
My book arrived today, lots of lovely recipes.
BUT I'm disapointed it doesn't have a picture for every recipe.0 -
I dont know if it has already been mentioned here but on lorraines webaite she has posted extra recipes etc. Like following this thread but have nothing to contribute as currently trying NOT to buy the book ive too many!0

Where can I buy this?
Thanks.
It's Porter Foods.
You can get other stuff in Tesco (though I've never seen it in my local). I think it's generally the neilson-massey brand.0 -
I have watched a couple of these now and I have to say I am not overly impressed with her either. I much prefer Nigella, I think because she has such a passion for cooking that it becomes a bit infectious. I couldn't believe the amount of vanilla pods she kept in a jar - obviously this programme is aimed at people who aren't counting the pennies . I just think in these times when many people are struggling it would be better to make a programme where the recipes are less costly.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100
