I wrote down the name of the meter as Schlumberger.Gothicfairy wrote: »It does sound like your meter if it was the only one moving when you left the water running..But I think it is still best to keep the appointment with UU and explain the situation and your concerns and see what they say. They should flow test the meter and with you there that is much easier anyway and it also means that they can check the bill and sort out the readings once and for all as it does sound like ( as we said to begin with) that you have used 1 cm3 but that somehow the meter is being read wrong.
It would really help if you could get a photo though when you get a chance so that we can see what you are looking at.
does it say what kind of meter it is on it Ie something like Kent, Fusion.0 -
Ahh ok so it is a mechanical meter and from memory I thought it should be a 6 dial meter but I need to check that with my paperwork. There does seem to be to many numbers though for the reading.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

I managed to check the serial number and it's not the same as on my bill!!!! They have been getting wrong meter reading. I am sure I identified my meter reader correctly. It's definitely mine. I've done many many checks with water running etc. It's working perfectly fine.0

As we suggested would be the case.
You should now be able to get a big rebate.0 -
I think a visit from the water company is the best bet to confirm once and for all which meter is yours and take an up to date reading. i think the red'/black thing now seems to have been cleared up.
Did they get back to you with an appt time? Mistakes can be made in flats and where there is a bank of meters.You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -

It can take 5 working days for someone to get in touch with you about an appointment. Any longer then that and you need to call back and ask for someone to contact you with regards the appointment in line with DG6 ( the guildline about how long the water company can take to get in touch with you)There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
