just noticed this on the njp members console under bandwidth usage.

The total cost of additional bandwidth usage is shown below. Your current plan includes 5GB of inclusive bandwidth per month (plus any additional Bolt-Ons you may have purchased). Usage above this limit is charged at a rate of £2.00 per GigaByte or part thereof.

You have currently used 0.186 GigaBytes this month. This is calculated by adding 0.158GB of download data to 0.028GB of upload data used this month.

If you know you are going to use additional bandwidth then you can also purchase your bandwidth in advance by using the Bolt-Ons option. From there, you can purchase chunks of bandwidth from as little as £1 per GigaByte.

if anyone goes over their limit let us know what happens, if you can of course

Someone's already gone over their 2GB limit and nothing changed, no extra charge shown and no throttling I believe. The limit appears to have changed to 5GB which is interesting as if there is no limit why would it need to be changed?

I had queried Clode regarding the contract clause
12.12 Should we increase the Charges or make any Contract
modification, which is likely to be of material detriment to
you we shall provide you with 14 days written notice and
the increase or modification will take effect from the end
of that period. If this occurs you may be entitled to
terminate your Contract by giving us written notice
detailing the proposed modification at any time on
providing us with 10 working days notice, such notice to
expire before the price increase or detrimental contractual
modification takes effect. If you terminate your Contract
in these circumstances the relevant provisions of this
    clause 12 shall apply.

Their reply seems to asume we have 2 seperate contracts, one for the Finance and one for the ISP?

Clodes Reply to my query -
The terms and conditions of your finance contract is not the same as the terms and conditions of the service arranged through red ten. If we, the finance company make any changes to our contract with you in relation to payments etc, this will be notified to you in writing as per quoted in our contract of terms. We have not made any changes.

Your service provider is arranged through Red Ten, we cannot answer any technical or support queries that the retailer themselves are responsible for. You will need to refer to your terms and conditions of your contract with red ten.
    Regards

Think Clode views this forum? They managed to get Redten's name correct this time (we'll excuse the space between Red and Ten) :T HELLO CLODE

Have been back on line for 20 minutes. Fantastic!

I have had nothing for days, so decided to got for the 'kill them with kindness' routine. After and HOUR on hold to Redten i was kind - sypathetic - happy - said how horrible it must be having all these customers shouting - etc.

Anyway, by the end of the call my connection was up and running (even though they said they were not sure what the problem was!?!). Conincidence; i doubt it!

Hope those of you still stuck without a connection get somewhere soon. It sticks in the throat, but perhaps this tactic could work for you too?

Here's now just hoping i don't get screwed with charges for usage!

Will keep watching and see how things pan out.

For those who want to take group legal action can i suggest the Facebook group 'Redten are scum' as a place where details can be more securely exchanged than this forum?

If you want to check your usage log on to your NJP account and select the usage option from the menu on the left hand side.
