it dosent matter how many people are advised the law is the law my advice will be the same as the next mans the only thing that may differ is the way in which the facts are presented to the legal advisor deadten has more than enough facts for a solicitor to smell blood

As in the words of that old geezer "please release me let me go"....come on redten give us the chance to leave if we so wish, you still have made a fortune off us even if you call it a day.
The problem is they've spent all our money, so if they cancel the contracts they have to pay money back to Clode, and they don't have it.

hi guys, just thought i would add my opinion for the day, spoke to clode this morning, went round in circles, kept referring me back to redten, when i said they dont talk to customers the response was well they talk to us. when i asked why they dont take any responsibilty they told me its only redten that can sort this. also asked them why i still had no reply from them as per the complaints procedure the excuse is volume of complaints. which contradicts the email/letter they sent out saying the matter is resolved. Also spoke to OFCOM who confirmed they cant get hold of redten either and the amount of customers that have contacted them is in the 1000's. also spoke to the infomation commissioners office regarding the responsibility of isp's and illegal downloads and as far as they are concerned there is no reason for them to do this.

as for loaded's comments has he/she been getting confused with another forum and missed the whole point of this??? we are not getting what we are paying for and have had no notice of any of it. they have breached contract end of. lucky you to be so happy with redten, but its not good enough for me or many of the others on here, which brings me to ask why you are posting the comments you do? if you have experience in arbitration/mediation why dont you look at the whole picture and post helpful comments, this isnt about getting out of a contract and keeping a pc, its about getting what you have paid for, getting good customer service when things go wrong and about having the right to compensation when it doesnt.

Judging by the number of hits on the http://www.deadten.com site more and more people are joining the campaign. Everyday I see newbies on this forum in the same boat.
Sooner or later Redten or Clode are going to have to do something about this. I can hear the court forms hitting their doormats as I speak.

I agree it does seem like a kick in the pants when we have been migrated to NJP with a 15GB monthly bandwith limit and they are still advertising UNLIMITED broadband. But one thing that strikes me is that Redten quote Cable & Wireless and Tiscali as other backbone providers apart from BT. It seems everyone on this thread was with BT, me included. no-one has come on to say they are with C&B or Tiscali. Perhaps they DO have unlimited and this is where the new business is being directed to. I don't know but it would be sure useful to hear of some Redten's customers who were with C&B or Tiscali to verify.

Nobody is with Tiscali or C&W the whole lot is run on the NJP/Murphx/BT wholesale network.

  • If colde dont act soon and they still continue to ignore the complaints procedure the FOS will be contacted. I have the forms all ready with copies of letters and emails from them. They are so overloaded. I hope the FOS fine them.

I got the 15GB and piracy letter today!

    Defamation or what!

Such slander! I dont take lightly to it.

I have laminated that letter as it seems to be the only document from clode I find the most useless. It only decribes the redten customer base as priates!

Its good to have a hard copy of that kind of letter straight for the horses mouth.

    See you in court Clode.

For anyone else who - like me - paid upfront for 3yrs, here's where I'm up to. Consumer Direct (0845 4040506) advised me to give RT 14 days written notice to restore original service. I also rejected the new t&cs on the NJP site. After 14 days, no response. CD passed case to my local trading standards who got back to me within the hour and asked for all paperwork. They are getting back to me Friday 11th. Both bodies sounded optimistic for an eventual refund as I paid by credit card. Sadly, seems you have to follow this protracted procedure to get there.
Got a call back today from trading standards as they promised. Sorry I don't think it sensible to discuss tactics here. Suffice to say, we do have a case, and my experience with the OFT and trading standards has been positive - measured, realistic and, let's face it, they've sadly seen it all before. I'd recommend them.
