Does anyone know when they will have the PC's back? I would be willing to consider this company if they still had free PC's

Just received this reply to an emailI sent on March 2nd enquiring about the future of RedTen:

"In regards to the current events with Watford Electronics, Redten has now become an entity of its own and existing Redten customer shall receive the service as agreed for the next 3 years."
  • Anyone else heard from the elusive Redten? I've emailed several times and got nothing back. Still waiting on a UK keyboard and my second backup disc. Never did get the Vista upgrade I was promised either even after emailing the company that was supposed to be handling it

Still, my connection keeps rolling along and the money keeps disappearing from my bank every month.

My main worry now is that I'm due to move house on July 12 - how do I go about shifting my connection to my new address if no one appears to be working at Redten anymore?

There are a number of phone numbers and email addresses that seem to be getting responses listed at

Other options are to talk to Ofcom and the finance company that are collecting your payments.
If you get anywhere, please post back as I (and no doubt many others) are not far behind in moving house!
  • :T Cheers for the link. I have emailed the address that is apparently working and will let you know what response I get.
  • Ok, got this from Tariq at Redten today. You will need to scroll all the way down to see his comments regarding my specific requests.

    Hi Tariq,

My name is William Robertson and I am a Redten customer

Unlike many of the people you have probably been contacted by I am a mostly very happy customer. I like my PC and feel the wireless broadband connection is pretty good. I do however have a couple of issues I need dealt with.

    1. I do not have Program disk 1 (as only program disk 2 was delivered leaving me unable to reinstall all preloaded settings and software in the event of a system failure)[Tariq Sharif] Disk1 shall go in post tonight

    2. A UK formatted keyboard to replace the USA formatted one that I was sent.[Tariq Sharif] UK Spec Keyboard shall go in post tonight

I had initially called the Redten help desk in December and was told that these items would be delivered “in the New Year” after waiting until February I called again and was promised that they would be delivered the following week. The multi function printer I was promised “after Christmas” finally arrived last month but as yet I have not received the missing back up disc or replacement keyboard.

I was also advised by the call centre to email you my details to allow me to obtain my upgrade to Windows Vista as this has been inaccessible from your website. The deadline for the free Vista upgrade was March 15th, I even emailed the company in Germany that was allegedly handling the upgrades for Redten and again got no response.

    3. I am moving house on July 12th and would like to transfer my broadband account when the time comes. I would be most upset if, after all of the inconvenience I’ve been put to that there would not be a charge for this.[Tariq Sharif] We are able to transfer your broadband connection to your new premises at any time, if you email me nearer to time, this shall be actioned

Since the demise of Watford/Savastore now when I switch on my computer I have no idea if I will even have a broadband service any more or whether I can expect to have my PC re-possessed by the credit company Redten was nice enough to ask me to sign a three year agreement with.

I appreciate that the staff of Redten are not to blame for the collapse of their parent company. Nor is there much that can probably be done until the current situation is resolved. However, I do feel that customers should be informed of what is going on. So far I have not received a single communication from Redten about the collapse of Watford and instead came across the news by accident.

    Thank you,

    William Robertson

Hope this helps some of you out there.
  • Got another email from Tariq at Redten in reply to my query about messed up Vista upgrades and got this back

In regards to the vista upgrade, can you follow the link below and inform Bahl, that you were unable to claim for the upgrade due to the invalid Serial No’s.

    https://watford-en.buhl.de/End.Vista?ActiveID=1351

At the bottom of the page click on Contact Us and please provide the requested details and inform them of the Upgrade

They will also look into this and try to provide you with the upgrade

Please ensure you provide them with your COA and PC Serial No’s

Not sure if this has been posted before but I came across this deal: http://www.redteninternet.com/ where you sign-up to a 3-year broadband contract and they give you a free pc. Might be useful to somebody.
