RedTen's new bb supplier, NJP, seems to be doing all the communicating, and there's not a lot of that. The guy I (eventually) got to speak at RedTen says we're going to bet back to an unlimited service, as it should be. I notice that the NJP cap started at 2Gb then went to 5Gb and has now moved to 15Gb. It'll have to get to 30Gb + for my usage to be covered and so 'unlimited'. I think what's happened is NJP just didn't have the capacity to take us on at unlimited hence the cap. RedTen are putting servers to allow us to get back to unlimited. Or am I just being generous and should be trying to get out like many others?:( I guess watch this space for a little longer :hrmph:
Chellofish, like has already been stated, if you're happy that you were paying for an unlimited bandwidth service that included a Free PC but are now receiving a derisory 15GB Capped bandwidth service, which in effect is really a 7.5 GB Cap (Up/Down=15GB) that's now Free and your actually paying for a computer worth £500 and your T&Cs have been changed to reflect this, then fill your boots and say absolutely nothing to either Redten, Clode or NJP.

    BUT!

If like most customers here you find that you are truly gobsmacked that Redten/Clode/NJP can treat you in this manner and then without your consent pass your personal and financial details to a (unknown to YOU) 3rd party company, to which they have then signed YOU up for a new ADSL service provider. {This is called 'Slamming'} They have re-writen YOUR T&Cs to completely changed what YOU originally bought and then stipulated in these new T&Cs that they can at their will change or do whatever the hell the want to and because you have 'Accepted' these new T&Cs, you are 'agreeing' that this is Totally OK with you.

If after the 11/4/08 you have not submitted a written complaint to REDTEN, CLODE and NJP about their unacceptable behaviour and service that you have received from these companies that have a contract with YOU, then as you have been legally deemed to have accepted all their changes through your lack of any response or rebukle, then as the saying goes, it's tough !!!!!!

If 'they' then decide after 11/4/08 to place your account onto lets say the original 2GB NJP capped service, you CAN NOT do a thing about it as you HAVE ACCEPTED and AGREED that they can do this if they want to as it's only a freebie service anyway, when you purchased your PC!!!!!!

Settlement figure???? If anyone accepts this and pays RT £150 or any other figure for that matter just to get out really are barking mad!
RT have breached far more than 'JUST' 'their T&Cs' and our contracts.

They have broken laws and consumer credit acts and from what others are saying the list of what Redten & Clode have done is increasing by the day.

I feel neither RT or Clode, have a hope in hell of winning ANY sort of court case bought against them based upon their complete ineptitude for successfully running a communication company.

My blood is boiling about the way the this bunch of feeking cowboys have handled this incident and they have then compounded this by releasing untrue press comments that the customers have got everything wrong!

The thought of someone actually paying these multi millionaires that have gained their wealth from defrauding their customers and then liquidising their own companies and then selling them back to themselves to save them from having to honour their commitments to customers that have already paid for services and goods.

Sorry I'm starting to rant here........ :(

    i agree totally.

another thing every one is missing is if the pc is only worth 500 pound in thier eyes then why are we paying clode more than 500 on an intrest free loan to buy the computer if thats what they say we are doing whats wrong there how come the payment was not 500 over three years for the computer and maybe what ever extras were purchased at same time!!! why are we paying more than 500 at all !!! thought interest free meant you pay what it was priced at no more or less no one has made this point either if they want to pull the 500 pound pc one and broadband free then in reality they wont be loosing much at all from us that signed in 2006 as weve paid near on 400 of it including deposit so it would cost them more than its worth to go to court on that one !!! so which ever way they want to look at it theres is nothing in it to take it as far as court as they will loose more if they go on the we pay for the pc!!! for which i still want to know why we having to pay nearly half more than what they say its worth dont understand why they just dont let it go and say goodbye its in their best intrest`s to isnt it !!

Very well said and puts the position we are in very well indeed.

We have a letter from NJP Services saying they are providing the service in place of redten. They may have said verbally different but --advice is always go with what is said in writing. DONT RELY ON MISREPRESENTATION GIVEN VERBALLY BY CUSTOMER SERVICES WHO JUST WANT YOU OFF THE PHONE.

  • Going to have to have breakfast then do my further complaints to OFCOM re NJP Services.
    Trading Standards re NJP Servises.
Its a pain trying to keep track of all these complaint numbers.

By the way the £150 referred to was if you broke the contract. It is not payable if they break the contract.

We have seen the way NJP operates its provision of services. Cuts you off if you go over their limit. Thats not the provision I signed up to. redten were supposed to operate a fair use policy which did not allow for those actions.

  • Having done a quick review of english law----if you have paid a third cost of the service already--redten will need a court order to get their PC back --and that s only if a court will agree with them that PC is not free, despite its sale then not complying with british law and if not complying you are not liable, and that they are guilty of misrespresntation and false trading.

you missed the main point mac---they have lost nothing! redten have already been paid for everything upfront!!! It is clode that stand to lose because if they can no longer get anthing from us --they sure as hell wont get it from redten if they go into administration in May and Online trading call in their mortgage as they own redten lock stock and barrell and changed logo.

If RedTen are still trying to say the PC is what we paid for then they need to check their own prices. This is from Saverstore which came out of the ashes ofWatford Electronics, the original parent company of RedTen,
    http://www.saverstore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=20019566&pid=2&tid=67
PC identical to the "Free" one cost £129.99
    http://www.saverstore.com/productinfo/popup.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=20002925
Windows XP which was installed on the PC £55.06
    http://www.saverstore.com/productinfo/Product.aspx?product_id=20010562&rstrat=12729
    19" LG Monitor £125.48

    Total cost £310.53

Cost of litigation and court action PRICELESS
  • Morning All,

First off all I would to thank everyone on the site for all the advice they have posted, I've sent all the letters and emails just waiting to see if any replies turn up.

Does anyone know if March rabbit managed to get his broadband back on line yet? I too had the same problem when I got home from work yesterday, my route is not receiving any broadband signal.

The only thing I changed recently was the login password for my account details on the Fast4 members area, is it possible this could effect my broadband signal as the route isn't receiving one.
