thanks, have used it and loans@njpservices.com

they're not going to be able to say I did not contact them.

Well they have until Friday--if they do not give me a mac by then --I shall ask BT and OFCOM/OFT to remove tag and give me a code.

Nice to see the numbers of people registering for this thread are growing, the more of us who share our information and actions, the better.

I have taken legal advice from a solicitor through my home insurance policy with the following outcome.
1. Clode are jointly liable because of section 75 of Consumer Credit Act 1974.
2. Redten likely to have breached the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 by their unilateral change to our contract terms and conditions.
3. By advertising an unlimited download service, subject to their published fair usage policy, and then providing a unilaterally capped service which we have to pay extra to overcome, they may be considered to have misrepresented their service in order to entice us into the contract. If this is the case, we may be elligible for rescission (contract becomes void) or compensation, or both.
4. I was advised to put my complaints in writing, detailing the changes to the service provided and send them recorded delivery to both Clode and Redten giving them 7 working days to respond with their proposed actions and timescales.
5. If no response within deadline, the legal helpline service will take over and a solicitors letter will follow.

Posted letters today.

Check out your insurance policies as this is a legal helpline is a common bolt on to many policies.

I agrree, have sent as much to them all;

The free PC was an inducement to enter the contract certainly in the beginning.

Cloderetailfinance had a duty of care and good governance for our money which they handed over in advance for the service and are jointly liable. Only they could know the financial viability of redten as they had posed dormant designation in Company House and therefore did not need to post financial accounts til last year.

Redtens original terms contain unfair terms and those unfair terms --section 12 coulld be cut by court.

Redten and NJP are operating a denial of service to us and if not lifted will be the subject of a complain to trading standards/BERR and CPS.

As well as people checking their house insurance --if they or their family are members of a trade union usually advice can be got from their legal services or officer.

Just read interesting article in Computer Active. Baber Gulzar is claiming that the monthly payment is for the PC package only and the broadband is effectively free!!!!!
I (and I think many others) have got original agreements+invoices+emails from RT that say exactly the opposite. Was this claim online or in print?

Someone has just emailed me about this...

Before I start let me make a couple of points:

This is the first I or any member of my team has heard

Someone has correctly said "posts are not monitored". There are 30 PAPERBACK books worth written on this forum EVERY DAY.

If Edinblass hadn't contacted me about this - I wouldn't have seen it. People simply assume that we spot every thread. Yet the sheer bulk of the forum means that doesn't happen even for some very big threads.

Remember we get 5,000ish emails a day; and simply can't handle the volumes. We're here to provide information and a forum for discussion. Sadly many people assume we can do money makeovers on them all.

This is a mammoth website. Please never assume that things will just be spotted.

What I'll try and do

Actually this site is about showing people the best deals. As far as I remember (and I'll need to check) Redten was never a site recommendation. I certainly have never written an article on it.

To be honest "fixing problems" isn't the main stay of what we do. It's finding the best deals and trying to get it right in the first place.

However this is obviously a big issue impacting many people; so I will get a member of my team to take a look through this mammoth thread over the next couple of days and see if we can help at all (can't do it quicker, its the weekly email tomorrow which is priority, i will get a team member to review on wed, and I'll discuss options with them thursday).

Martin

PS. And while I appreciate many people just want to get it sorted; to the small minority who have written snide comments about me and the site. Rather than sitting here sniping, you're much likely to get help by contacting and asking for it. And yes I was on GMTV this morning; doing my job, it was a 6am start same as tomorrow, and now Im here at this time, doing this, lovely of you to attack me and my team for it!

Hi Colderuk--being offered from the frying pan to the fire it seems--if NJP really wanted to attract us they would restore the service as an offer of good faith ---but there you are, remeber what I said before. NJP have been here before.

If you get a mac code --take it to the provider of your choice.

Anyone who wanted a copy of my letters, please send an email address to private message.

I havee so far spent £15 on recorded letters but they are not getting away with this.

keep up the good work folks.

Hi I am not receiving any internet from NJP Redten of murphax, have spent the afternoon trying to contact all and sundry, have spoken to ofcom, clode, BT wholesale, Murpax, tried redten but no coconut, and basically have been told by bT wholesale that because Murphax used the bulk migraqtion code to migrate us all, that negated the MAC code I got off BT on day one, should have used it straight away. Tiscali who I am trying to move to, confirmed the code was invalid. Ofcom advised me that they have asked RT to confirm their intentions within 28 days !!!!! Clode have asked me to inform redten of my displeasure (as if I were displeased!!) Murphax advised me that they would get an engineer to sort me out with my connection, (as if) i'm still waiting, and basically I am still not on line (am using dial up connection here) and looks like I may have to wait for weeks before I can get back online, will see what tomorrow brings.
Would appreciate it if you could let me have copies of your letters and who you sent them to, so I can make sure I don't miss anything out. Please send to jaypee638***yahoo.co.uk change *** for @ (advised bots scour forums for email addresses.)

• Good to see you're going to get involved Martin.

Whilst I'm sure you're not happy about reading some of the comments may I point out page 55 to you, where I believe this thread was mentioned to your staff and they agreed to get the right people to look into it. That was over a week ago so please don't say things like:

"This is the first I or any member of my team has heard"

Also on this subject Martin, many of my posts were removed for simply suggesting that we contact Watchdog. MSE has not provided me a reason for these posts being removed despite me asking numerous times. In fact the posts where I asked why they were being deleted were deleted so I'm still not sure why they were and I guess MSE doesn't want to share the reason.

To all the other members, thankyou for all your support in the past few weeks. Unfortunately I will no longer be posting on the subject of Redten so please do not contact me about it as I will be unable to reply.

Once again, thankyou, and I wish you guys all the best in the future.
