Honestly, even if I were able to take him I'd be put off now by the fact that if I met him and it didn't work out you'd accuse me of being a 'timewaster'. :(
What an animal lover you are then.!
You don't like the attitude of his carer so leave him?

What a heartless creature you are.

I did :j and we travelled from Edinburgh to Wales and back in one day to get her it was also pouring with rain for the entire journey down, the first time I saw her was when I picked her up from the rescue. I also had to have her neutered and inoculated.
Yes Kinski, that is how us true doggy lovers behave. My vet bill was £400 on getting him. Rescue told a load of lies.
No matter, he's home and we are a pair.

    Conversation went:

Him: I will take the dog, if you castrate him I have one of my own and have been searching for a companion for him I am located xxxx (105 miles away - him knowing where I lived therefore knowing the distance).

Me: Okay, let me have a think as it is 105 miles away, do you definitely want a dog, is he the type of dog you would want, will you be able to help him with his separation anxiety, can you tell me a little more about your home life as he is used to having someone around most of the day at the moment.

Him: well sort of, actually was just thinking about it, lets see how they get on eh, then I will make my decision.

Does that sound reasonable to you? Would you drive him 105 miles there after that type of response? Which is the reason I was so exasperated

Have you actually even read the entire thread?, have you actually read that I have been inundated with similar requests from people who want everything handed to them on a plate and for free? Which I am willing to do and they still aren’t satisfied.

Have you read that I have been messed around by several people already who have strung me along for days asking question after question and saying from the get go that they definitely (I did not ask, they stated) wanted him only for it to get to the point of exchanging addresses for them to admit they were not even serious in the first place?

Do you know what, I don’t even know why I am bothering to reply to you but would say one last thing…..

After all of that, would you be happy to drive around the country showing him off to evident timewasters? Or would you perhaps, just perhaps be just a little peeved?
I didn't and will not read that.
I am for one, very upset at how OP is treated.
I cannot believe that an animal rescuer in the flesh, yes, a real one. Not the televised lie that's the RSPCA.
Not them. A real lady, LADY, is caring at her own expense a little dog that is not even her's.

If this not the ultimate sacrifice from an animal lover, what is?
  • well done Op for persevering with bailey. Just a thought, have you tried advertising in the local paper?

Bit like the one I went to, I was told the vet didn't know when her season was going to be, I took her to my vet the next day and was told after a wee bit of prodding that she was midway between seasons. I also forgot to ask when her jabs were due, I called them the next day to ask and they said ''oh we never had them done so you will need to'', poor wee soul we got her on the Sunday, vet checked and injections on the Monday and spayed on the Tuesday, I spent about the same money I would have if I'd gotten a pup, Abby was 8 when we got her 3 years ago, she now has kidney failure but we're not letting rainbow bridge have her any time soon.

Ok I think the point of the thread is getting lost a bit. Lets try and stay constructive shall we...after all there is a wee mans life at stake here. It's not really the time for grudges and bickering.

Well done on keeping up with little Bailey OP - it cannot be easy given you also let's remember lost your friend when you acquired Bailey.

Padstow, just for the record, I've reported your posts. You may not agree with the points made but comments such as 'ghastly creature' and 'heartless creature' are without doubt inflammatory and unnecessary.

OP I've been lurking and following this since you first posted. I hope you find him a forever home soon, you've shown a kindness to this poor animal and hopefully Karma will play it's part beneficially for you too one day.
