Hi, I just read through the dog pages answers to you post. If he is a lurcher which seems likely have you tried greyhound and lurcher rescue. They could help you find a home while he was fostered by you. You would not feel so alone in this then.
I would take him myself but I already have a greyhound and lurcher and I lost (pts) my darling 13 and a 1/2 year old greyhound boy two days ago so am not really able to make sensible choices while I am so upset.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Omh he is gawguss, will the dogs trust not do a neutering voucher for £25?Exactly where are you?
Hi
I am in South Yorkshire, nearest Dogs Trust is about 40 miles away but I will look into it.
I am trying to source a voucher elsewhere that will allow neutering for £30 but it won’t be available for at least another week, and I still don’t know if I will definitely get it and I have not heard back from the contact at the RSPCA which is about another 30 miles in the other direction!…..
I've got 2 staffies but can see staffy in him, and am love with his ears
Never even considered he may be part staffie! His ears are a definite feature, so cute to see them flop up and down as he prances around when I take him for a walk.

He was hiding them well! He is definitely unneutered.

I did not, because I had had interest by then and right from the first PM I was led to believe that the fosterer was going to take him. So it is something I will look into.

Sorry for your loss angelsmomma, problem is I don’t know what he is but again I will look into this.
Is it wrong I feel possesive over this little man. I read your post candy and was like "woah....back off. He's mine!!!"
I think I need to step away from my laptop.
Well, you never know, if I get him neutered I will let you know!
I must say I am absolutely exhausted by all of this now. I am really not well myself (have heart trouble) and just do not have the energy………
As stated earlier, I live in a flat and have now been reported by a neighbour as he barks when someone knocks at the door (that’s common isn’t it?). So I shall be expecting a letter from the council on top of everything else. So it makes getting him re homed even more urgent now.

Hi Lauren
I take it you are a way a way from South Yorkshire then?
Yes, he is used to the quiet but also was not phased by my sisters family or my mums household which is a lot noisier than where I am keeping him.
Unfortunately, one of the offers has fallen through so I am just trying to sort something out with the lady that fosters......

Hi
I will contact the Little Dog Rescue when I have exhausted all other options. Thanks for the info on BADAW but they keep their animals in kennels so it's not an option.

Thanks lauren
I don't even know if it is the neutering that is putting people off it's probably his seperation anxiety though he is slowly getting better as he has been here for just over 3 weeks now.
I have just had a bit more bad news so have to try and sort that out this afternoon. But will post again when I can.
Thanks

Do ring them and have a chat - things may be different when you actually speak to them. I think you may find that some of the dogs are fostered.
Have you also tried:

If you know of a dog that needs re-homing, your circumstances have changed and you want to make sure your dog goes to a loving home, perhaps you are too old or too ill to care for your dog any more, we can make sure a loving and safe home is found. If you wish, you may phone one of our team to discuss any concerns.

I know its easier said then done but try not to worry about being reported. You are correct - dogs bark and councils are aware of this fact. They are only interested in getting involved when a dog is barking constantly - hours on end - day or night
So yes the complaint will be followed up but I doubt any action will be taken
You are doing a wonderful thing, but dont be putting your own health at risk. Try not to stress and also accept that perhaps a rescue may be best for you0 -
Some people just don't understand how hard it is for other people as for your neighbours they wouldn't want to live next door to my partner we have a westie and a border collie x whippet they bark at any slight noise lol.
If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.
