    Duplicate post.
  • It might be worth asking a local dog charity/rescue if they can help with the neutering costs, as you are in effect fostering the dog to prevent it going into rescue.

Might be worth contacting your local vets to find out if they have links to local organisations to contact.

Hope you manage to find the wee guy a home very soon.

Still on the lookout as the fosterer from here has now said she cannot take him. :(:(:(

That plus being messed around by a couple of people who messaged me privately from dogspages expressing an interest in him then changing their minds as soon as I try to arrange meeting has left me really fed up and let down.

    Really had enough now.

Awww....bless you. I really wish we could take him, he's lovely. But our unspayed female would present problems. She's a Yorkshire dog, we are from "t'other side" so she's a traitor. I don't think people think through how making offers could affect you.

    Thanks twinklie

I have a had a pm on here saying that I might be able to get cheaper neutering with the RSPCA but don't know if I qualify so I am waiting to hear back, if that is the only option to get him rehomed then I am going to have to find the money to cover it, it's that or hand him in to a rescue and break a promise.

Yes, I don't think people realise how much this has all upset me. I have been in tears this evening, emotions have been going up and down for days. I even conversed with a woman for close to 4 days (before the dogspages post) giving her every little detail and answering a hunderd and one questions only for her to turn around and say at the last minute she had slept on it and decided she had got carried away and wasn't really thinking straight.

I have now thought I had rehomed him three times over. Do you know, I could never do that to someone.

    Sorry for the rant........

I COMPLETELY understand why you'd be upset. I would be. And on top of it all you lost your friend. People are so absorbed in their own situations that they really don't think things through. My little girl is my world (even if she did just slobber all over my nice clean washing and then steal my DH's jumper off the line and run away with it)! Naughty little Belle - it's ok though because daddy doesn't need to know! :rotfl:

Still you are trying your best and thats all you can do. You never asked to be put in this situation and I think it's very good of you to realise that you aren't in a position to offer little Bailey the perfect home and try and find him something else. Like you say....he could have just been palmed straight off to a rescue centre.

You are trying and thats all you can do....please don't let heartless or at least thoughtless people get to you. Just try and be a bit more sceptical in future I guess. I'd also say that if someone was honestly interested in him they'd travel to you to view him. We travelled over the border to Yorkshire for Belle and made 3 trips before we finally brought her home. It was worth all the time and effort for the little monster!

are you positive he's not been neutered? from the top pic on the other blog, to me it looks like he hasn't got his testicles.
