Urghh.... I can't sleep! I thought that I was tired and went to bed at 10.15 last night only to wake up at 1.45am - wide awake! I will pay for this later, I know it.

I got emails from both MrA and MrT yesterday with good offers for online shopping and home delivery so I have just ordered a months shopping - it took ages but it is being delivered on Saturday and will save trudging round the supermarket. I can watch the Grand National instead :)

MrT is laying in his bed snoring loudly - nothing disturbs his zzzzz's

Enjoying having a bit of cash in the bank - it has been a while. The direct debits have gone out fine (after I changed the date) and I have topped up petrol, gas and leccy, paid the rent so the rest is mine!
I have treated myself to a pair of walking boots on ebay, only cheap but better than normal footwear - which I really knock out with all the walking I do with MrT. They should be here tomorrow.

The HR manager had a word with me yesterday and she said that as soon as my probation is over in early June she is going to look at ways to increase my hours if my present position can't have the hours upped. Even if it means two jobs, two locations that will be better than the benefits trap I am in at the moment. I am sure something will be sorted out. Fingers crossed. I want to be independent again and pay my own bills.

I am hoping to spend a bit of time in the garden this weekend and try and work out what has died and what still has a bit of life in it following that dreadful winter. A couple of little trees look a bit done in - we shall have to wait and see. I am so looking forward to the new fence being put up - then I will repaint the whole lot in Dark Oak - if my back and wrists allow, if not - I know a man who can....:) and he will be a sight quicker than me too....

Is it me, or are the diaries a bit quiet at the moment? A number of the diaries that I subscribe to have become dormant almost. I always worry that everything is OK when I haven't seen anyone posting for a while, as people worry about me, I know. Perhaps they are just too busy or tired to get it together. Wordsmith is back however, hooray!

Not too much to report, one day at work and then the weekend.

    Roll on.. :rotfl:

Hi Chev, Thanks for that - I could do with some extra finger crossing.... I don't want to be poor anymore.... it always seems that I have to sacrifice so much just to buy anything - I don't mind working hard, I don't expect it on a plate :)
I like being positive - even though people seem drawn to the "woe is me" diaries on here!
    Hugs

I think a lot of diaries start like that... The joy is watching people realise that they CAN make a difference to their situation, and seeing how sometimes very negative diaries change to being positive as a result

    Hi SA

good news about HR manager championing your cause for extra hours.

I think the reason people gravitate to the woe is me diaries, is to try and support and boost their confidence, to make them feel better and get them thinking positive like you.

If you shopped online at Mr Ts don't forget to put your receipt in on the price check to see if you are entitled to DTD back :j

I was going to ask if you had any suggestions for Grand National tomorrow.

A local charity to me, has convinced a certain bookmaker to allow us to bet through them, but if our horse wins, the charity gets the money directly. So would like to get them some money. The bet is free, the bookmaker is footing the bill :D

Maybe people have gone quiet because of the nice weather and are out and about a bit more. I know I am.

    Hi SA

Hope you havent fell asleep on the job!
I do keep an eye on your diary, its a busy place in here.
I think my diary can be pretty woe is me...but it helps me to write it which in turns helps me to deal with it.
Hope you manage to get your hours increased :)

I love your positivity SA, and positive diaries are so inspirational. And all good, positive prospects on the job front.

Looking forward to when you can come back properly, SW. Hope you get the computer sorted out OK.

Have a good weekend, SA - have some fun and recharge the batteries.

    Good Morning everyone....

I am pleased to report that despite my nocturnal activities yesterday (unable to sleep so got up at 1.45am) I suffered hardly any ill effects and am feeling fine.
The walking boots arrived this morning and they are great - grey and pink, very cool, and MrT after trying to scare the postman off with a very loud barking fit tried to leave home with him, again!. He didn't want him either - just like the other couriers, postpeople and delivery drivers .... he doesn't give up though, ungrateful little wretch! ;) I might think twice about the pet shop visit this morning to get his pigs ears.

Anyone seen the collie in the newspaper - weighs 9 stone after the previous owner fed it a human diet all its life. It is now with the Dogs Trust, thank heavens, they will slim it down and find it a home.
MrT took a fancy to a little female JRT yesterday - first time ever! It often crosses my mind whether he would like a companion and he was certainly smitten with her. I will have another think about it. I wouldn't get a pup - it would be a rehome, like him, and it would have to be "little miss right" - but it could just happen, who knows?

What a busy week - a day and a half at the HA, MrT a sleepover in the kennels, got paid - lots of credit on the gas, leccy and phone and the car is FULL UP! £60  - it used to cost about £40 - it has really hit home how much the petrol has gone up now.... jeepers.

Littleboots - don't ever think that you diary is self pitying - it is about you and what you are going through at the moment... I love it and I like the fact that you are at a X roads - where will she go next - Dubai or not? Keep on keeping on.....

sw - come back soon, missing you

Aesop - The Grand National is nothing but a lottery IMO - so many horses that if a bad one falls or runs across the others it can cause havoc and it really is down to good luck in running. I like Big Fella Thanks - trained by a local trainer Ferdy Murphy in Middleham. One of my fave days out is the Middleham Open Day on Good Friday and you can tour round all the trainers yards from the ickle ones that only have a handful of horses up to Mark Johnston who has over 200 horses in training.
Good luck with your flutter..... nice gesture by the bookie.

Big MrA delivery arriving this afternoon with lots of goodies - can't wait to get cooking and sampling the ice creams! There is even a sneaky bottle of Rose wine there to reward myself for being so MSE over the last few weeks - not all through choice though :(

I do hope that everyone is getting and enjoying this beautiful weather and is able to have a nice relaxing weekend. Don't forget to water any pots or containers - SA's gardening tip for the day.. :)

    Hugs

It is DEAD QUIET without Kit, she cheers everyone up with her lovely words. She has her friends over this weekend, from 3Dogs Diary, so am sure she is having a ball.

Have you thought about writing a blog? I love your way with words, just like Firewalker and Marru. Will have to have a look at LittleBoots. If you started a blog, you could get affiliate links and people may pay to advertise on your blog. I intend to start one this year, but am still debating what to write about. Don't want to write about my friends, as they may take offence, lol. Not sure if to write about moneysaving. MSE is great, but it is sooooo vast, unless you know where to look and what you are looking for, you don't always find it.

Are Mr A's doing the price promise thing online? If they are more expensive than Mr T? If so, make sure you put your receipt in.

It's definitely hitting home how expensive everything has become! I was in Netto yesterday, went especially to buy nappies but didn't have DS' size, and they had put up the price of a tin of garden peas, I always bought from them as cheaper and bigger tin!

Love the idea of you getting a Mrs T or would that be Ms T? I always wanted a dog but we agreed as we work, it would not be fair to the poor dog. Maybe one day when I am retired.

My friend was telling me she is looking to move out of the area as she spends all her money on bills and cannot afford a holiday, and I thought, we haven't been able to afford a holiday for about 6 years! We are doing something wrong! How does everyone else afford holidays?

But we would like to move out of London, but DH won't earn as little as he is now anywhere else, and he says too old to change trade. So we keep plodding.

However all week has been lovely and we have visited parks and lido, and tomorrow we may get to ride miniature trains. Making the most of the good weather while it is here :)

I have been looking at my garden, not much of a gardener, LL had it landscaped before he decided to move and I am not happy with choice of plants, etc. But am thinking about getting some stuff to liven it up a little, hanging baskets, etc. But I need an easy to care for garden.

Have a lovely day SA - and the bookie - well... it is a lovely gesture but they win out of it, as some people will stop to put on another bet where they hope to win money for themselves, plus they get a great rep
