Well done SA on all that you have achieved over the weekend.

I had booked Wednesday off so could do so much needed housework without DS and he was ill last night, bad stomach and then sick, tried to make him sleep downstairs so I could keep an eye on him, but at 2.30am he was up and wanted to go to his own bed. He has been sick again this morning and then said to me just now, let's go out.... he has a temperature! So looks like my Wednesday is becoming Monday!

Home again and ready for the trip to the kennels and then my meeting. It is pouring with rain and the men haven't been yet to repair the fence. I hope the weather doesn't put them off.

A difficult morning at work - it was so busy and I struggled to get away by 15 minutes after my finish time. We really need proper procedures in place for how we deal with certain things so that my colleague and I can just get on with things rather than keep issues pending waiting to defer to the manager..... 2 days, 2 different answers - if you know what I mean :( but I do enjoy the job and it certainly uses all my skills and experience. My previous job was working with priority customers and the customer was always right - that is how I like things - it is a little different in my present job but hopefully that will change. Satisfied customers are so important in these competitive times.
Anyway - off for now - have a good afternoon everyone.....
Anyone else watching Spartacus on Sky1 - it is a bit raunchy don't you think? Good though :)

Well done in escaping. Good luck in the meeting. Mr T is on hols tonight then. I had a fab day at work. Nearly didn't go in but luckily it all fell into place. Weather here is stunning. Did I wash any clothes? Noooooo and it is raining tomorrow i think. Dont you think the bright weather makes a difference? I feel cheerful now. It is soo good to see things growing in the garden. Am happy today and it was a NSD too. :)

Great to see you are well SA and just as optimistic as ever:) and not feeling sorry for yourself, not like some other peoples diaries. Yours is the only one that I frequent on a semi regular basis, because I love the fact that you get on with life and don`t moan about what is happening. Hope everything keeps on the up for you, you deserve it.

Hi SW, hope you are fit and well today? :)

Hi dojo - I know just what you mean....:( we could all wallow in our own self pity, but this is not the time or the place in my view. The last thing these boards need is to make people feel worse!

    SW - Hi honey :j

    Update.... quickly.....

Been in Leeds for a day and a half - meeting and then finance training. Can you imagine a WHOLE DAY listening to an accountant grinding on and on about creditors/liabilities/surplus trading et al... I felt brain dead at the end of it.
And I was missing MrT like mad. He had been on his sleepover at the kennels and a night in the flat without him was just horrid. I got up at 3.30am and was watching TV - I couldn't sleep. I picked him up at 6pm and he is home safe and sound and fast asleep as I type.
The next training is in May so we have got a bit of a break than heavens.
The building supervisor came to look at the fence on Monday afternoon and has agreed to replace the panel with a palisade fence which will be much better as the wind will go through it. The HA have also agreed that I can pay for them to extend it along the top of an adjoining brick wall so that it looks much nicer and not just a "fill the gap" job. It isn't too expensive, I can pay afterwards and in instalments if I need to (friends in high places!) - they have said they will do it within 14 days so I am chuffed to bits. The garden will look so nice with that finishing it off and it will be another barrier for the nasty next door neighbours :p
Payday Thursday.... I have got a bit of survey cash come in and then I shall be postively in the black, compared to how it has been anyway. I want to save both for my fence and a new cooker - should have both by the middle of May.... I don't intend spending very much at all on anything else and the gas and electric have dropped a lot since the weather has got milder. Hooray.
I have got to start thinking about my TV/BB/Phone package soon and comparing prices. I got a year free as part of my redundancy agreement and that runs out at the end of June. Not long now. Time really does fly.
Got to go, quick walk for MrT before work.
    Speak soon,
    Hugs

Hi, SA. All sounding good from your end. I guess you don't want to retrain and be an accountant, then? The HA training sounds good, though, and like SW says, will be a good addition to your CV. I'm sure you've said and I was too unobservant to notice, but what's the purpose of the training?

Only a few hours now till pay day! Any news on extra hours?

Wordsmith - how good it is to see you here - have you been updating your diary? It is my absolute fave, as you know.

Well..... the training is part of me becoming more involved with the HA as a member of the Tenants Federation. My HA was actually put "under supervision" for the last couple of years because they didn't get very good marks when they were inspected by the higher powers. One of the problems was that they didn't have enough tenant involvement and so are going full out to rectify that. They are "unsupervised" now and going great guns - we have got a lovely CEO who is so switched on and down to earth.
So - there are plenty of meetings, forums and courses now and I am always asked to take part. The next one is on handling complaints and sitting on a complaints panel so that will be so valuable in my job as well. It is quite an expensive course so should be very worthwhile.

Extra hours - I has a brief meeting with my manager today and she said she will try and plead my case as hard as she with the bosses to get me the extra. She is very pleased with how I have "grasped the job and run with it" that's me - pushy and gobby! - I am full time until May and my 3mth probation is up in early June, I am hoping we can sort something out by then. After 3 mths I can apply for other internal positions, but I know my manager doesn't want to lose me :o
I have got my first payslip and the money goes in tomorrow - MrT and I are rolling in it :rotfl: comparitively! Tripe sticks and pigs ears are on me!!!

Anyway, that's all for now - a couple of surveys to do and then food and then watch the footie - so much to do, so little time!

    Hugs
