Sounds good about the Councillor. I had to get mine involved last year just before the elections because the council weren't emptying one of my bins, it had been 4 weeks! He got it sorted, most impressed
Wow, letting kids that young call you by your first name, they will have no respect for her as they get older, but then maybe she doesn't care! They sound like horrors! The sooner they move the better!
Have a good weekend, SW hopes to be back online tomorrow nightand good luck with the topiary...

As you are our resident choc expert I take it it's ok to eat chocolate thats just about out of date?
Your neighbours would drive me to total distraction.
Could you not get one of the new houses?
beanie - Hi, good to see you here.
Chocolate is fine until a few months after the date - as long as it has been stored properly and not been in the heat anywhere. We are told that it is more for stock rotation than consuming purposes. Eat away.... and enjoy, it is a great anti depressant - and thoroughly recommended!

I think the crux of the problem is this:-
I honestly think that she is living through her daughter (does that make sense?) The kid is always wearing new clothes and showing off, she is about 9 or 10 and has got a real chavvy name that I obviously can't put on here.
She has taken up horse riding recently and got ALL the gear and goes weekly ( all this on state funding, by the way) When you listen to the pair talking it is like two little girls and not Mum and daughter. Mum, however, is fat and wears trackies, sweatshirts or big jeans and trainers. Get the picture? She honestly acts like one of the kids - it as if she can't see what is right and wrong. Very strange. I don't know if I should go out and ask the kids to keep the noise down or just leave it alone? They don't live here and just congregate around the front of their flat. Help????
I have got an interview today!!!! I got a phone call from a well known bookies asking if I would be interested in a weekend job? As I see it - I want to go full time and I have given my main job the oportunity of giving me extra hours which, as yet, they can't do: So, if I take a weekend job on and have two days off during the week I am still doing full time hours but in a slightly different way. Might just work - anyway the interview is in a hour or so - in my home town, and I will update you later. How exciting!
Hugs

Missed you before you went. Hope the interview went well. Two part-time jobs = full-time week is good.
I beg to differ on the chocolate being an anti-depressant. I get very depressed when I eat chocolate, on account of it adding inches to my thighs (and bum, and waist and the tops of my arms)."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Hope your interview went well and you got the job.
As for the mum, yes I understand what you mean. That is so sad though. As I am sure her daughter's friend's don't look at her like she is their age and "one of them".
Hmm it is a difficult one telling the younger kids to move on. If you do and they don't like it, they could make life difficult for you, on the other hand, they may listen to you and move on. Do you have community police? We do, and we can ask them to intervene in a situation like this. They would have a word with the kids, and keep an eye on them. If that didn't work, they would go to see the parents and if it still continued they would receive an order telling them they were not allowed to continue in unsociable behaviour.0 -
That's your answer. Get a man in, be very noisy and embarrass them into leaving. Then you can dump the man and be a happy, peaceful, singleton tenant. On second thoughts, keep the man until you approve the new neighbours - if they don't look suitable when you twitch the curtains as they are being shown around, hop into bed or on the dining-room table or whatever and ensure they don't want to move in. Then dump the man, etc.
Happy to help.
Computer was connected half an hour ago. I am catching up. I love this thread. Wordsmith's post must win an award for the best advice ever!!!! I am still laughing 5 minutes later!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Gangs of inconsiderate children are not good. I had all of this. They were nasty to me the local councillor, MP intervened but only after my old Principal threatened to sue the chap in charge of the housing association and after she called their chair of governors who visited my house and saw what they were like first hand. If you can get videotaped evidence that is good as people will see tangible evidence of the problem.

I love the idea of a Mrs T, how cute.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
