  • 5pm and I haven't heard anything. Looks like I wont have to worry about whether I want it, the decision has been taken out of my hands.
musicmagpie has processed my cds and dvds and the cheque has been issued.... hooray, and no deductions.
Been out for a lovely long walk in the sunshine, I can thoroughly recommend it. The dog wants to play now - after a 2 hour walk and a big dinner ??????
I have got someone calling tomorrow from the contractors who carry out the gas inspections for my HA. Mine was scheduled for 17th Jan in the morning and after loads of phone calls the engineer turned up at 3.35pm and stayed for 8 minutes. i was so angry that I fired off a letter to the HA asking them to look into it and also for the £10 compensation that they pay for failed appointments. I got an email this morning saying that the contractors are going to give me £20 but this lady wants to come and see me as well. I must have such a reputation for being a bolshie so and so - who cares?
I fancy a glass of wine.... thank heavens I haven't got any in. I don't want to fall off the wagon.

Don't give up hope about the job yet, SA. Did you get a feel for whether you could negotiate on the days to work, if you do get offered it? Is there any chance that later the hours will be increased, so it would be worth making the investment now?

Do you still do you other part-time job? I don't think you've mentioned it for a while - or did I miss something?

Re the ex, do you honestly think you could ever be just friends? Perhaps there's just too much history there. How would you feel if he introduced a new partner to you? Would he be able to be just friends? Perhaps a clean break would be the kindest thing for your emotions? And speaking from experience, a partner that has been a liability never stops being a liability - you can't change them, you can only change your attitude to them.

  • Hi Dragon - you haven't been around here for a while, nice to see you back and I hope you are well.

Wordsmith.... wise as ever. Re the job, it is a sort of job share with another part time lady doing weds/thurs/fri so I don't think there is any room for manouevre (sp) how do you spell it?? I will wait and see but am not overly bothered. Yes I am still doing the other little job as well. That is what it is and I cant do anymore for them. Something will turn up.
Re the ex - not sure about whether it can be friendly and nothing more but I am going to try and be a grown up. Don't forget he is on the other side of the Atlantic so he can't pop round with a begging bowl or anything like that. My attitude has certainly changed, that's for sure.
I am actually feeling pretty good today - the sun cheers me up so much. 1000% better than I was at the weekend.
How are you - is everything OK?
    Hugs to you both

SA, you are doing really well!

And you may still get a call about the job.... I told my Manager today that I want £25K to do the full time job. I will need that much as I will not get help with childcare and will have to pay out of my own pocket, plus overpaid by TC and still paying it back, they will want to recoup that. Plus all the other bills associated.

Manager told MD, we shall see, if I am worth it...lol.

PS won my first comp for FEB! :j and not through MSE, I belong to a comping group and it is thanks to them I won.
  • Good morning everyone :)

Aesop - WOW! Go for it, you don't get if you dont ask - let's see if they stump up the ££££. We KNOW you are worth it, do they?

sw - let me know that you are OK and things aren't getting on top of you too much. I just like to know you are OK.

Wordsmith - how about finding a few minutes to write a post in your diary... I LOVE your posts. Write a book one day please?

I am going to find the time today to write in all my fave peoples diaries. I have been neglecting that recently - copperjar, littleboots, 3dogs et al. ;)

OK......... Job update - I got a call at 6.45pm from the HR manager. I wasn't succesful in the interview for that post because.......... THEY THOUGHT I WAS TOO GOOD :D and the job too repetitive, but she liked me a lot and wants me to consider another post with the same company. She had delayed calling me because she wanted to speak to the department manager before speaking to me. So... she is emailing me the job description today. It is 3 days a week and a higher salary... woohoo.

I am going to bake some buns today :j I could get used to this cooking lark. I got some more extra Nectar points vouchers when I went to Sainsburys this morning. I certainly seem to be getting more than my fair share, but hey I am not complaining.

Thursday all ready .... here comes the weekend.

    Hugs

  • Thanks Wordsmith - obviously I will have to see what the job entails. She says it is customer focussed with admin duties, but not sales, thank heavens. I can't bear sales jobs. The other slight hitch is that it is at their other office which is about 4 miles from my flat and will take a bit of organising to get home and walk MrT at lunchtimes. Putting the actual bones of it aside, it is so good to hear something positive for a change and she gave me some really good vibes about the company and the way it is run. Unlike the last fiasco of a workplace.
    Hope you are well.

What's Mr T like in the car? I am lucky and with most of my work I can take the dog with me. On the days she can't come in, she stays in the car just outside so I can go and check on her and nip out to let her stretch her legs. Those aren't her favourite days, but she is fine. The only problem is on very hot days, so then I have to make alternative arrangements.
