What's Mr T like in the car? I am lucky and with most of my work I can take the dog with me. On the days she can't come in, she stays in the car just outside so I can go and check on her and nip out to let her stretch her legs. Those aren't her favourite days, but she is fine. The only problem is on very hot days, so then I have to make alternative arrangements.
I am not exaggerating when I tell you that he is awfulin the car.
When I got him (at 4) I was warned that he was noisy - I put a harness on him and strapped him into the back seat and during the journey home he almost hung himself! I have to admit that it was the only time that he shut up in the whole journey so I left him like it until I got home.
He did come to me with a huge amount of "issues", bad enough for my vet to want to put him to sleep but I persevered and he is a squillion times better. I have a cage for him now for when I have to take him in the car and I just put up with the noise that he makes, but taking him to work would be an absolute non starter. He is certainly happier at home in his bed and as long as I can get home to take him out for a leg stretch he will be fine for 3 days a week, IF the job comes off.
When I first got him I was at my wits end, he was so difficult, but an amazing lady helped me with some great tips and advice and I remember her telling me that one day he would turn out to be the best dog I have ever owned and voila.... it has come true. He is such good company and a real mate. Yes I know he is totally spoilt even down to sleeping IN my bed but I love him to bits. Not sure what I would have done without him at times.
Pleased you are well sw - sounds like you are very buoyant today..

OK......... Job update - I got a call at 6.45pm from the HR manager. I wasn't succesful in the interview for that post because.......... THEY THOUGHT I WAS TOO GOODand the job too repetitive, but she liked me a lot and wants me to consider another post with the same company. She had delayed calling me because she wanted to speak to the department manager before speaking to me. So... she is emailing me the job description today. It is 3 days a week and a higher salary... woohoo.
yes agree, Wordsmith please write a book, then I can pick up and put down when I have time to read.
:j: fab news about the possible new job!!!! See we knew you were worth it!
Sounds fab, the HR person obviously takes their job seriously, unlike the previous tinpot company, taking time to speak to the Department manager, etc.
so pleased for you! Hope it works out so you can take it.
Well done! We are worth it! and if you don't ask, you don't get! I mean they can say no, but I am not going to work full time for an extra 50p an hour to get more into debt.0 -
SW is very excited about meeting up with everyone
my turn in the summer. She can run around with DS while I have a rest

Aesop - WOW! Go for it, you don't get if you dont ask - let's see if they stump up the ££££. We KNOW you are worth it, do they?
sw - let me know that you are OK and things aren't getting on top of you too much. I just like to know you are OK.

I am going to find the time today to write in all my fave peoples diaries. I have been neglecting that recently - copperjar, littleboots, 3dogs et al.

I am going to bake some buns today :j I could get used to this cooking lark. I got some more extra Nectar points vouchers when I went to Sainsburys this morning. I certainly seem to be getting more than my fair share, but hey I am not complaining.
Thursday all ready .... here comes the weekend.
Hugs

Sorry for the delay in replying - we have just been to feed the ducks!
Yes I would have to interview again but apparently I am the only person shortlisted at the moment and the closing date is tomorrow. Sounds promising.
Nice to hear from everyone.
