  • LisaJane - I don't think I'll do too much myself either, I dont really trust myself with centre pieces. I can manage a table plan and name places, but thats probably about it! Not decided on invite yet either, I prefer the more modern printed ones than all stuck together with ribbon etc.

yeah me too...as far as i'm aware we are having just a single piece of card with a photo of us far away with a massive pretty sky above us that our amazing photographer took for us on our engagement shoot. we are just tiny in the background as wouldn't want to be too cheesy! all the text will be on the back of the card. that is the idea at the mo anyway.

Hollie - my hen do is booked for June...we are staying in a house over in the west of Northern Ireland and the guy who runs the place organises all activities/transport etc. I have been before and it is a great set up which is why we are going back...it has a lovely hot tub in the garden too!:)

    Hello,

Well may as well tell you guys what's been happening to save boring people in work with it!!

Boyfriend printed our invites out in work tonight...he has free access to a good quality printer and is leaving the job on Thursday which is why we are getting them printed out so early!

Went to the venue on Sunday and I now have a list the length of my arm for jobs for it. We're gonna do a candy buffet, put some photo frames with pics of friends and family up around the fireplaces, buy some lanturns to put outside and we are considering a fairy light curtain. We also have to try and decide what food we are going to have. I have also decided to make some shortbread for the afternoon reception!! Hoping this won't be too stressful as with shortbread I should be able to make it a good few days prior as long as I keep it in an airtight container.

Lots to do but starting to get very excited with it being nearly 6 months to go!!

  • I agree there must be lots of August brides who havent noticed this thread yet!

We have an appt with potential photographer next week so thats quite exciting.

Big outstanding question is around colour scheme as I want to get BM dresses first (going for high street - coast, debenhams or similar) and I can't get BMs together for a few weeks yet, plus want to wait for summer collections to be in shops.

Hi all im so excited,OH's friend deals in diamonds/jewellery and said he would do us a good deal on wedding jewellery,we have been to see him tonight to look at samples and i have chosen the ring i want its the same as this http://www.tiffany.co.uk/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP02694&mcat=148204&cid=288152&search_params=s+5-p+3-c+288152-r+201323339-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+
But not with that price tag,OH has gone for a plane gold band.he has done us a fantastic price on them im so happy
  • Over the last few weeks we've been sorting various things.
We went down to Essex (where my OH is from)a few weeks ago and my OH managed to get her wedding dress sorted in and hour and a half!!!! She got it from Brides by Appointment (Barnados' Bridal shop) and only paid £350 which put a smile on my face. Also managed to sort bridesmaids dresses (which I am lead to believe was a lot more stressful) and paid the majority of them off with Debenhams vouchers which we had collected over last year or so at xmas and birthdays.

On friday night we went to listen to a band, we'd heard a couple of their songs online but wanted to hear them for real, we listened to them setting up and my OH decided she wanted them before we heard a song, we stayed about 35mins into the set and left because we'd decided we wanted them by then.

Tasks for the rest of the week, pay the deposit for band and caterer then get prices for tables and chairs
