Well the rings are one thing that we don't have to worry about because we bought them on holiday in Cyprus about 6 years ago!!
But we both had a week off from work last week and we have sorted the venue and the registrar. We just need to decide what food we are having and they will do literally everything else. All the decorations for the rooms and tables, dj, food for both daytime and evening etc etc is sorted by the venue and included in the price. The venue calculate the costs according to what you want - if you want low budget or high budget - they discuss what you want and how much you want, from minimalist to big flashy over the top - What a relief!! I am the least artistic person on this earth so having someone else deal with all that is brilliant for me.
My daughter has a work colleague who has a keen interest in Photography and wantsto expand his portfolio from landscapes and objects!! into people and we are happy to let him have free rein with a little input from us.:D (and that's a freebie!!)
She also has a friend who makes her own cards and is setting up a sideline business branching out into wedding invitations, place settings and so on - so last night we went along to discuss what we would like for our daytime invites. So in the next few days we should see samples of what was discussed and then she can use them on her first wedding fayre stall at the end of the month. We have still not decided what to do with the evening invites - but will probably go with a print to keep costs down.:A
Oooh! What else?!! Had heart failure at fresh flower prices so have been looking at artificial flowers so lots of internet browsing to do there.
Been looking at outfits for the men and decided that because hiring suits is ridiculously expensive and given that once we are at the venue we are indoors for the duration except for rooftop balcony. I have decided that OH, his best men (his two sons) my son (who is giving me away) and pageboy can all wear smart trousers, white wing collar shirts and waist coats with cravats. No jackets to worry about!! and very relaxed and informal which is what we are aiming for.:T
Still got bridesmaids and myself to sort out. My sister has offered to do our cake for us - she used to do cakes as a sideline years ago. So we are going to ask her to do a cake which we can use for our top tier with cup cakes beneath. We need to look around and taste cup cakes which can then be used as dessert after pie and peas or whatever we decide on for food.
Thsi is exhausting but such fun!!
SwampyExpect the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes!!:o0 -
