    Hi Y'all!

Hope all the planning is going well! Me and OH are currently buying our first house and are due to exchange soon, so the wedding planning has been kind of pup on hold!

How is everyone else doing? found any bargains? :D

Howdy August pardners, well I am off tomorrow to pick up some mirror plates, gonna try and antique them by scuffing up the back. I have got everything pretty much sorted now except the FOOD AND DRINK which is clearly the most important thing (after my dress lol)! Oh yeah and bridesmaids dresses is the other biggy.

Dress fittings and house buyings are very exciting! Maybe I need to go and try on my dress one more time...

Glad to be of service Hadley1! I thought about keeping my dress at my pa's but then I remembered he's into old-fashioned mothballs, not the bridal fragrance I had in mind! The couple I got the mirror plated from were SO nice, the man gave me a lift to the station, and their wedding sounded lovely, it's so nice when you meet nice people through money saving intit!

Hello all you fellow August 2012 brides/grooms.

I'm feeling quite organised, getting married 29th August in Positano and all I have to do is find a reception venue and organise transport.

I feel like I'm twiddling my thumbs a bit too much for someone who's getting married in less than nine months!

I'm sure there will be something I've missed!!

Massive OOPS sorry I meant you Hollie not Hadley! Long day etc. etc.............. xx
  • Hello everyone! I'm an August 24th Bride. We were engaged last christmas, so longish engagement. Finally settled on a venue in the Lake District (where it is currently snowing according to their webcam, I actually want to leap in my car and go get married now its so beautiful).

I have my dress, my shoes (these were very MSE, retail was £225, I got them for £20), save the dates and invites done by future SIL. Photographer is booked, rings are bought and paid for, cake is chosen but not yet booked, flowers, food and favours left really, and the grooms suit, though he is insisting that he will only organise it in July

Looking forward to hearing everyone's story and planning adventures.
  • Hello everyone, can I join?

Got engaged a couple of weeks ago and am planning Aug 2012 wedding!

We have provisionally booked venue for Sunday 19th Aug. Apart from that I have done NOTHING and dont quite know where to start. A few friends have intimated i've left it a bit late to get a dress... is that right?
