a quick update from me :)

I've bought some fabric to make my bunting (only 80meters to make LOL)
I've decided on this for my father daughter dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXhJ3oCg3K8)
I've found my wedding ring i just need to get my bum in gear to go and order it :)

I'm not doing anything else wedding related until after xmas now (except dieting & exercising!) :)

oh and i'm having 2 bridesmaids now as OH is having 2 best men now and we have 2 page boys and i NEED it to be symetrical because of my OCD :)

so i've had to order more flowers
oh and i've ordered J & K in our colours to go on the cake table
  • Hello everyone! I am also an August bride, we are getting married on the 17th at Marwell Zoo!!! Very excited. Have found my dress and booked the photographer...getting there slowly. Any recommendations of a florist near Southampton gratefully received.

    Hi everyone,

Not been on here for a while so thought i'd update you. After receiving a letter from the venue we'd booked for the reception party a few days ago to say they have now closed & ceased trading!!
We have luckily found another venue that is free to hold our reception party & is much nicer than our original choice - they do say everything happens for reason! (but it is more expensive - but as we've made savings in other areas have decided to go for it!)

They can also accomodate & do our meal the day before for me, h2b & our 10 guests.

Hope everyone else's plans are coming along smoothly!
 nitemare so glad u have found somewhere else though

Hey peeps, just got back from a meeting with my cake lady it was awesome! So chuffed, we are getting a 5 tier sponge cake with berries and flowers for £330 including delivery and setup! And I have tasted it and it is DIVINE! We are serving it as dessert for 150 people so that's just over £2 each, I couldn't make it myself for less than that what with hiring the stands and whatnot... So excited!

Just need to get in touch with marquee man, he is being elusive at present but that's the price you pay I spose for getting a very MSE marquee and hog roast.

That sounds a great price for a very yummy cake :D Much less stressful to pay someone else to do it than make it yourself as well!
Good luck with getting in touch with marquee man, hopefully he's just been busy :)

    Hi Tiara,

Did I dream it, or did you say that you had got a wedding brolley (parasol - as teh weather is going to be amazing)! If so can I be nosey and ask what is like and where you got it from?

I really want a parasol (would go so well with my dress), but practically I know I should be looking for something that is waterproof - English weather being what it is. :(

Yes I've been wondering about this too, I want a grey lace one, I've seen them on ebay and they say umbrella/parasol but they don't look waterproof! I wonder if you can spray them with waterproofing or something...
  • Hello August Brides!
Hope you are all well and the wedding planning is going brilliantly!
I am so excited! In 9 months and 4 days I will be a married woman and will be enjoying my wedding reception! EAK!!!!
The dress has been bought, the invites are ready to be sent and the decs are all finished! I have saved so much by doing things myself, literally hundreds!
Enjoying it so much, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when it's all done!
    xxx
