Oh Kacy what are your new colours? Better to change your mind now when you've got plenty of time to put it right than a few weeks before when your to do list is already a bit manic! It took us a full year to decide/ agree on the colours!!

Ampafc- as for invites, it depends if you are sending save the dates. If you are then you probably don't need to send the invites more than say 3 months in advance. However if you're not sending save the dates then I would get the invites out earlier to give people plenty of notice to keeo the date free :)

Hiya Hollie yes we got insurance a while back, think it was £24 or something like that. I know what you mean about getting bored, you kind of have stages of having things you can do and then sitting around waiting for the next lot of wedding jobs to come round... Are you sending your save the dates with xmas cards? I'm going to try and sort my shoes out this week, I bought these but I need them to be lilac to match my dress, tried dying them last week and that was a fail, I dyed my flowergirl dress and some lace though so the dye wasn't wasted:money:! Hoping this shoe spray paint will work!

MIL coming round later, she thinks I should have freesias not sweetpeas:mad:

Is it too early in the year for mulled wine tonight?

Thanks glad you like my shoes, I had to look for ages to find them, I wanted round toe, not slingback, but with a strap to stop them falling off. Amazingly I can actually walk in them! They look a bit cheap atm tbh, hopefully the paint job will sort that out. Will post pics if it works!
  • I'm an August 2012 bride too, we're getting married on the 31st. It's exciting seeing how everyone is getting on in here. I booked my honeymoon recently and have sorted venue, photographer, dress and bridesmaid dresses. Save the date cards are sat waiting for superdrug to include 2nd class stamps in their 5% off offer. I know it's tight, but I need lots!

Hi, not an August bride here. :o just wanted to say I don't think superdrug have ever included 2nd class stamps in their offer. You may be better off trying to get cash back from somewhere.

Sorry for nosing in, but didn't want you to be waiting for something that never seems to happen!

    Hi Everyone!!

I've spent the last couple of months reading through various threads and have got some great ideas. This is one of my first posts and i am also an august 2012 bride, getting married 23rd.
We're having a very small registry office ceremony, with 10 people, then we're going to book a large table at a restaurant and take them out for a meal afterwards. We're having the 'celebration' party/evening do the next day with about 80 guests, so we can invite more people to celebrate with us and a lot of our friends say they enjoy the party part of a wedding the most anyway!

    Hi everyone,

Not been on here for a while so thought i'd update you. After receiving a letter from the venue we'd booked for the reception party a few days ago to say they have now closed & ceased trading!!
We have luckily found another venue that is free to hold our reception party & is much nicer than our original choice - they do say everything happens for reason! (but it is more expensive - but as we've made savings in other areas have decided to go for it!)

They can also accomodate & do our meal the day before for me, h2b & our 10 guests.

Hope everyone else's plans are coming along smoothly!
    Mrs S to be 23.08.12 :)
