Lots of ideas on here. Just relax - everything will work out :)

Am really frustrated now. I have just had the call from the man with the ring quotes, but can't call back as stuck at work. they close at 5 which is when I finish here :( Sulking now as won't be able to find out till tomorrow lunchtime. :(

I'll reply properly later when I've got more time, but couldn't not reply to you.

Firstly, take a deep breath! My advice would be to focus on the people who can only do one wedding per day. So the photographer, if you want to have one, any entertainment such as a band.

Most florists will do a few weddings per day so there is less pressure ton get that sorted straight away.

Wedding cakes- have you looked at M&S? Their prices are very competitive, and they have some really beautiful designs.

As for dresses, it depends really. If you are planning to buy one from a shop, they can take 3-4 months to be made. You then need to allow time for alterations, so ideally you would have found what you wanted by Dec/Jan time. Alternatively, shops often sell display dresses at a good discount, and with those you only need to allow time for alterations. The same goes with second hand dresses from places like ebay or preloved.

Have you set a budget? And done a rough guest list? I would recommend these as good places to start, so you know approximately how many people you need to cater for, and how much you have to spend on each area.

Good luck and please don't panic, you have loads of time :)

Im starting to stress about everything!

I dont know where to start?! Someone please help me!

So we have booked the venue.. registrar.. the venue includes pretty much everything except flowers and photographer.

Whens best to start looking for a dress and brides made dress?

Is it easier to buy online than in shops?

Wedding cake? Now dont even get me started on that!

I dont know where to start on planning for everything else! Getting myself so worked up!

Theres a thought... thanks for that.

have just remembered OH has day off tomorrow so he could phone in the morning, but 2b honest I want to know the prices myself. Part of me thinks that if they are really expensive (which I know some of them will be) OH will just say no without telling me. Not that his mean or anything - its just they mean a lot less to him. :rotfl:

I don’t really know what budget I will need? Would 1.2k be enough for extras? (Not including dresses and suits, and cake)

I have looked online for flower costs, looks like it is going to be about £150 for all the flowers etc I need.

    I have looked for a wedding cake, haven’t tried M & S I will tonight thank you! :D

We are also at the holiday inn like Mandij :D We went for the £1899 package, which includes 50 people for the wedding breakfast, and 50 for the evening, we will probably add an extra 10-15 to cater for for the evening just in case.

As we are inviting more people to the evening rather than the day ceremony. The DJ is included which is good, plus my uncle manages a band who are willing to play… eeek! :D the OH ‘s friend is just starting out as a wedding photographer and said he wants to do it for free! (just expenses for him to pay) and wants us to go up and visit him so he can do a ‘test shoot’ (also for free) :D to see if we like his style of shooting!

We have done a guest list but its just a rough, but all within the budget for the hotel package :D

I have the colour schemes I want etc and what type of dress I want, but I have no idea where to look, there arnt very many bridal shops where I live  well I don’t think there is!

We have planned what we want as the centrepieces and predict it will be about £60 for all that :D (good old ebay)

But I feel many things obvious are missing, like im forgetting things, does any one have like a check list?

I have got my dress already got it from francesca bridal a local shop to me for £250 from £600 its an eternity bride one.ive not yet got bridesmaids as my 2 daughters who will be 2 and 5 at the time and growth spurts between now and then but i have seen the dresses just biding time on getting them as they cant be taken up because of detailing on the bottom of the dress so cant even buy them bigger.
Ive been enquiring about wedding cakes, ive had one quote at £250 well £325 if u include delivery and cake stand but u get £45 back from the stand upon return,my mum and dad are paying for the cake and that is just to much so im going into another with my mum next thurs who's cakes start at £139 for a 3 tier extras are charged by decoration and this is usually where i get my cakes from anyway so shop around.
Im doing everything else myself to save money as we are on a budget of around £3500,im doing centre pieces, flowers, invites etc etc

In terms of budget, I would suggest you work out what you can afford to save between now and the wedding, and then prioritise your spending on the things that matter most to you.

Here is my checklist. There will be some things on there that are already included in your package, and some things that you probably won't want, so cross those off to start with. I would then divide up your 1.2k between the remaining categories, so that you have a budget for each item. This will make it easier to see what is reasonable when you are getting quotes, and will help you stay on track with the budget :)

    Church/ registrar+ giving notice
    Venue hire costs
    Drinks
    Wedding breakfast
    Buffet
    Band/DJ
    Favours
    Centrepieces
    Flowers
    Wedding cars
Transport for guests if required to take them from wedding to reception
    Wedding dress
    Bride's shoes
    Tiara
    Veil
    Bride's jewellery
    Bride's underwear
    Bridesmaid dresses
    Bridesmaid shoes
    Bridesmaid jewellery
    Hair
    Makeup
    Groom's suit
    Groom's shoes
    Best man's suit
Father of the bride & groom's suits if applicable
Outfits and shoes for page boys/ ushers/ flower girls if having them.
    Photographer
Stationery (save the dates/ invitations/ RSVP cards/ place settings/ menus/ table planner/ thank you cards- the list is endless, just pick and choose the bits you want!)
Stamps for save the dates/ invites (this can add up if you have a lot of invites you can't hand deliver!)
    Cake
Cake stand (check if the venue will let you use theirs)
    Cake topper/ decorations
    Guest book
    Hen party
    Stag party
    Confetti
    Rings
Little activity packs to keep small children occupied
Thank you gifts for the bridal party
    Honeymoon
    Wedding insurance

I hope that includes all the big things. Some you won't want, and some will be more important to you than others. By prioritising your budget to the areas that mean most to you, you can stay on track with the budget and have such a special day :D

I hope that has been of some help. If I have missed anything, please holler and I'll add it in!
