In terms of budget, I would suggest you work out what you can afford to save between now and the wedding, and then prioritise your spending on the things that matter most to you.

Here is my checklist. There will be some things on there that are already included in your package, and some things that you probably won't want, so cross those off to start with. I would then divide up your 1.2k between the remaining categories, so that you have a budget for each item. This will make it easier to see what is reasonable when you are getting quotes, and will help you stay on track with the budget :)

    Church/ registrar+ giving notice
    Venue hire costs
    Drinks
    Wedding breakfast
    Buffet
    Band/DJ
    Favours
    Centrepieces
    Flowers
    Wedding cars
Transport for guests if required to take them from wedding to reception
    Wedding dress
    Bride's shoes
    Tiara
    Veil
    Bride's jewellery
    Bride's underwear
    Bridesmaid dresses
    Bridesmaid shoes
    Bridesmaid jewellery
    Hair
    Makeup
    Groom's suit
    Groom's shoes
    Best man's suit
Father of the bride & groom's suits if applicable
Outfits and shoes for page boys/ ushers/ flower girls if having them.
    Photographer
Stationery (save the dates/ invitations/ RSVP cards/ place settings/ menus/ table planner/ thank you cards- the list is endless, just pick and choose the bits you want!)
Stamps for save the dates/ invites (this can add up if you have a lot of invites you can't hand deliver!)
    Cake
Cake stand (check if the venue will let you use theirs)
    Cake topper/ decorations
    Guest book
    Hen party
    Stag party
    Confetti
    Rings
Little activity packs to keep small children occupied
Thank you gifts for the bridal party
    Honeymoon
    Wedding insurance

I hope that includes all the big things. Some you won't want, and some will be more important to you than others. By prioritising your budget to the areas that mean most to you, you can stay on track with the budget and have such a special day :D

I hope that has been of some help. If I have missed anything, please holler and I'll add it in!

Thanks Tiara - thats a really useful list:T

Theres a thought... thanks for that.

have just remembered OH has day off tomorrow so he could phone in the morning, but 2b honest I want to know the prices myself. Part of me thinks that if they are really expensive (which I know some of them will be) OH will just say no without telling me. Not that his mean or anything - its just they mean a lot less to him. :rotfl:

Unfortunately, I didn't catch teh guy last night - so have left this with the OH. he is supposed to let me know when he has phoned. nothing yet, but guess it won't be top of his list. :(

I emailed someone last week, still havent heard from them! Apparently, they have so much business, they can afford to ignore us!

I do wish people would realise how important these things are to us!

Where have you got your cake from Hollie?
Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!

    Hey

What a coincedence OH has just text with the quotes (though I did have to nag him earlier to ring - think he is wanting to keep me sweet at the mo as I am whinging about my cold :rotfl:) adn feeling rather sorry for myself over the last few days. Think he is worried I might start crying:rotfl:

    I now have quotes:
His: £200 white gold, £236 (not sure what metal that is) or £800 for platinum.

Mine: (white gold to match the engagement ring) £340 without diamonds or £540 with.

I guess they are reasonable quotes as they would be handmade and mine would need to be shaped around my engagement ring. But its a lot of the budget, but they will be rings we will wear every day.

Now, the decision is do we go for it or not?????

    Hello- me again! :D

Less stressed than yesterday, me and OH sat down last night and finalised guests for the wedding, which is one less stress!

Also I was looking at wedding invites, whens best to send these out? Did you / are you sending our ‘save the date’ ones?

Reason I ask is that I have seen invites I love and want to buy them, and then send them out in March / April time? Is this a good idea?

Also I got a wedding book / folder today to keep me organised (I hope!)

Made a spread sheet too with everything we will need to purchase and sort out, and how much we have paid and when / how much we have paid towards it! Which makes me a feel a little better!

OK is it too early to look at wedding rings and purchase these? Would you wait until next year?

    Thanks

    :D
