Yikes! It sounds a bit of a culinary disaster! Next time you do the risotto cakes you might find if you mix an egg in with the left over risotto that it holds together better.

I had left over roast for dinner... yum yum! but my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I cooked some oven chips as well... they are still sitting in the oven! Might heat them up again tomorrow.

Got the cash, only to get a text from my cleaner saying she can't come tomorrow after all! Typical! However I have done the duvet :A and am now about to go and do a second lot of washing up seeing how I can't be lazy and leave it for the cleaner now

Then I think it will be time to have a shower and head to bed!

I did dip the patties in a beaten egg but they just were too big. I think I might do a combination of your suggestion of mixing the egg ith the leftovers and doing smaller patties ... But it was lovely .. Just not too visually appealing!!!'

I have some left over for tomorrow's lunch for a blitz in the oven.

    Soooooooo......

It's been a busy few weeks, lots of socialising as I am internet dating again... have met one guy I like, so we shall see.

Definitely on the downward slop to Christmas! I splurged this year and spend over £20 on photo Xmas cards. They look good, but I really ordered twice as many as I need... oh well, we live and learn!

But if they all get sent off that will be a major coup! I am rubbish with Xmas cards, which is a pity as they definitely help keep my network together, which is hard with family and friends scattered around the globe.

I have just done my business accounts as my VAT is due this month. I've done it three days early, but there shouldn't be anything else coming out of or going into the account.

It's half four and dark! It's a bit of a shock to the system! I got off my !!!! this morning and went and did some conservation work in the local wilderness area. Was cutting back nettles and digging up bramble roots. I did get stung by the nettles, but it's not too bad. I've had worse!

I hope everyone has a good week!

I haven't updated for aaaaages. Have been very busy - had two weeks on the trot with barely an evening to myself. I hate to think how much I've spent :(

On the bright side, things are going well with my new man... just about at the stage of being able to use the word 'boyfriend'. He's Scottish, and we really enjoy each other's company. He's very reserved, but maybe that balances us? He might find he likes having me to bring him out of his shell.

Just been fighting a running battle with the cat over getting her to take an antibiotic. I won the final round by using one had to hold her by the scruff of her neck and the other to both open her mouth and insert tablet... didn't think it was possible, but we got there in the end.

It was one time I really could have done with an extra arm to manage all three tasks (hold scruff, open mouth and insert tablet) at once!

I appear to have been (grudgingly) forgiven, which I am sure will be complete when I feed her this evening.

On the finance side, things are much more back on track, although my OP this month was pitifully small due to the ground rent being due and lodger not having paid up yet.

However I got my mortgage statement, and after the backward step last quarter, things have moved forward... My LTV is ow 65.122% and I owe £120,476.71... Just realised next quarter I should be in the hundred and teens :D

Off to Newcastle for work tomorrow... It will be exhausting - up at 5am and I won't get home until 9.30 or 10pm. But hopefully it will be worth it.

I hope everyone has a good week! I'm off to have a bath and then an early bed :)

You are motivating me to start again with something like eHarmony in the New Year. Was supposed to be at a match.com free get together but woke up with that dreaded throat precursor to cold and have snoozed on and off most of the day waking up too late to get myself going!!!

I had all good intentions of siphoning off some OP money but somehow my sofa has developed a mighty powerful glue.

Yikes, I haven't posted for over three weeks... worse than that, I've not even been on MSE in that time!

It's been a pretty busy three weeks, out most nights, and seeing my new man... he lives an hour and a half away, so a big chunk of my weekends are taking up by commuting to see him!. Things are going well, though, so fingers continue to be crossed.

Just did my monthly accounts. I thought it would have been a horrendous month, but it wasn't too bad as most of the spending turned out to be Christmas related, so came out of a different pot of money. I've just done a large cat food order, though, so that has put a dent into this month's finances.

Work is up and down at the moment... I was reading Squirrel's post about things not being great, but not being bad enough to make you leave... well that is me in a nutshell too! They've offered me another 3 month contract, and I'm tempted to take it as it would mean I could finish off some of the stuff that I have on the go now, but it does mean I won't feel trapped... the end would be in sight!

Right-ho... better run, need to catch a train pretty sharpish. I hope everyone else is being as MSE as they can be at this time of year!

Oh, another note... have had 5 NSDs this week, which must be a record (although being a course which provided generous amounts of choccie bikkies helped) and I am definitely going to meet my MFW2012 target of £5K towards the mortgage. Yay!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!

I've just spent a couple of hours catching up on diaries... I have to admit defeat, I still have the last two pages of GG's to read, and I've not even dared open Tilly's!! I am diaried out! and that's just the ones I've subscribed to, let alone anyone else's.

I had a nice but noisy Christmas with my brother's Italian in-laws... managed to avoid being a complete pig, much to the Signora's disgust - she constantly complains people don't eat enough and waste food! I was brave enough to stand on the scales this morning and I am back to my pre-Christmas weight :j

Christmas is certainly not boring in the south of Italy. Did lots of dancing, firstly at the village's 'preseppe vivente' (living nativity), then after an evening concert that we went to in a nearby village, and then finally at the post salami-making feast. My tarantella skills are coming along nicely :D

Had a lovely time playing with my little nephew and 'neice and nephew by marriage.

The biggest downer was that I caught a cold :( still suffering, although it's now the asthma that I always get after I've had a cold. Had this week off work, which was nice and relaxed (aside from feeling ill!), but does mean I've lost 3 days work :(

The other sad thing is that one of my cats is poorly. The nerves in both the paws on her right side are numb, although they seem to have different causes. The vets wrapped the front paw in the most phallic looking bandage you've ever seen :rotfl: I would post a picture but I can't figure out how to download it from my new phone :(

Roight, that's enough of an update for now... I'll be back to give an update on how I went this year and think about some goals for next year.
