Four years (and 3 boyfriends - which says a lot about my love life) ago, I was given a little piggy bank.

So being a little bored on a wet Sunday afternoon, I decided to count the pennies in it... wait for it, the grand total is £4.82, plus 5 Euro cents!

    I'm rich!! :rotfl:

I put all the GBP back in it... I'll let it build up a little more and then decide what to do with it. There really are a lot of pennies in there, but I don't have a bank near me where I have an account. I'd rather not use a coin star, but you need to pick your time and place if you're going to offload a whole lot of change in a shop.

It's pouring with rain here, which I'm quite glad about as a) my garden is desperately dry and b) it gives me an excuse not to go out and c) that means I'll have an NSD :j

Well, it's been an expensive week.

I failed on the NSD last Sunday - online shopping is a killer! I bought a new casual top and a skirt which is part of a suit - I bought the jacket a few months ago and love it so much that I really regretted not buying the skirt. I spotted it on special, and grabbed it quickly.

I decided that it was OK as I had been very good all month... but that opened the tap, and since them I have bought a new handbag (old one was giving me very tight shoulders and headaches :( I also had to take the other cat to the vet this morning, so suddenly this month is an expensive month!

Oh well. Feeling poorly at the moment - have a sore throat and a mouth ulcer that is very painful. I'm meant to be seeing an old friend tomorrow who is over from Australia... If I feel like I do today, I don't know that I'll make it, as the journey is an hour on the tube :(

On the bright side, I managed to get washing dry on the line today. Hooray! I have resisted turning the heating on as it's really not that cold down here. I hope everyone up north didn't suffer too much from the floods. Sounds awful.

Did my monthly accounts today. I overspent by £20, which is't too bad, although I did push £223 of spends into next month, so will have to be careful!

Cat went back to the vet yesterday - she keeps weeing on the kitchen and bathroom floor, just outside the litter tray. Vet and I are both thinking it's behavioural, as she has had an anti-biotic and an anti-inflammatory, however we gave her more anti-inflammatory and we'll see how it goes. Might also invest in a third  litter tray and see if that helps.

Have finally been paid by my lodger :j Makes this month's OP £1150, but I have also put £1500 into savings rather than OPing. It's all offset, so it's really just about which notional pot the money is sitting in.

It's a beautiful sunny day here - I have hung washing on the line, so fingers crossed it dries! Am going out to a french country dance tonight with a friend, which will cost a tenner, but should be fun as I am likely to also see other friends there too. I hasten to add I am NOT into the folky scene myself, just happen to have a lot of friends who are!

Went to the doctor yesterday as I keep waking up at 4am feeling warm. He doesn't seem to think it's anything serious, but I'll go and get bloods taken on Monday just to check everything out.

I hope everyone else has had a good MSE week!

    Thanks lulabelle...

I did get my washing dry! And as it's another lovely day today, I have washed all the sheets and duvet covers and hope to get them dry also. Yippee!!

Having a friend around for lunch, so the heating is going on for the first time this year, although having just stepped outside it isn't too cold, so I think I'll just warm the house through then switch it off again.

I hope everyone in the south gets to enjoy this lovely sunshine :)

Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather we're having. I've had a cold this week, so have been rather lazy and disorganised about taking lunch to work and that sort of thing. I also managed to eat out twice this week, despite not being 100%, so it has managed to be quite an expensive week!

I'm starting to feel a lot better, though, and am looking forward to a walk and then maybe an afternoon nap! Not necessarily in that order, either!

I've been very good today and have got the washing hanging on the line and I did lots of washing up. I only have changing the duvet cover to go on my to-do list, although I'm sure I'll think of other things as I go along.

I'm still getting the odd bean and courgette off my plants, which I'm pretty pleased about.

Right... I'm off to bed for an hour or so :D The joys of an afternoon nap!

Haha - I did all my finances and then earned my nap that way!

Well, I had my nap, and then went for a nice long walk. I also made some biscuits which have turned out a bit strange as I didn't have enough plain flour so used SR flour instead! They taste fine, but they've risen when they probably should have been flat.

Still haven't done the duvet cover... it's a job I hate... but I am determined to do it tonight and not procrastinate for another week!

Biscuits are definitely edible! I may have tested one or two or three or four, but I had to be certain!

They will last me at least a couple of weeks, as I will ration myself to one a night... query... am I allowed to have one this evening?

Realised I have to go out again and get some cash for the cleaner

Will do that after dinner, and will not allow myself to use it as an excuse to not do the duvet cover!!

I want one off your biscuits as I had a risotto left over nightmare!!!
I did a smoked mackerel risotto yesterday and the recipe has a tip to make breadcrumbed patties with the leftovers. I must have made them way too big and they all disintegrated so I ended up with a giant risotto cake which I cut in half.
Them my baked sweet potato fries caught the top of the oven and fell all over the oven door with most of them caught in between the door hinge gap!!!

Thankfully all tasted ok but what a mess!

So I think that deserves biscuits!!!
