Laura - yay for getting bits and bobs sorted :) Hope the button holes are just perfect!

Emma - lol I wrote my stamping my feet post at the same time as you wrote yours lol - it wasn't in a response to you (I wasn't being all brattish and jealous lol.... well now much anyway lol). I *think* over half term I *may* start work on our invites. I *may* get the cards glued, cut and folded, so when we've finalised the wording (eventually!) I can then just print and stick the invites, and put the ribbons on. I *may* also sort the thank you cards out.... Lol but what I should be doing is my penultimate OU assignment done.

Good news Emma, about your DJ. Lol yes - I wouldn't want requests either... lol but I do plan on playing some steps, Sclub, five, etc music :) The benefit of having no DJ and using our iPod means I'm in full control Mwahahahahahaaaaa :) (I haven't told MrD I want some of my old school cheese on the play list lol).

Well my oh is very adamant about the music- its the only thing hes actually that bothered/ interested in. I have had to put my foot down and refuse to let him have the dj he did want as it would be only indie/ 80s electro / weird stuff!!:rotfl:

hehe,I confess I probably I will be getting all brattish soon when I have nothing else to organise!!:rotfl:Although the one good thing is even when I cant plan I can come on here and hear all your fab plans.

I havent even thought about thank you cards. I wont be making them thats for sure!!

Done a bit more of the 'admin' side today, have booked appointment with the registrar in Bucks to give notice of marriage, doing that on the afternoon of 9 September. I think it will feel all a bit more real at that stage, as by then we will have been to the venue.

Meal with both families went well on Saturday.

Oh Ive done an admin thing today- I thought I better ring the registry office to find out about what ID I need as I dont have a passport and it seems to vary according to which county your in, and im fine as I have my long birth certficate- but whilst on the phone I have also booked an appointment to give notice in August. Seems even more real now!!:D

:j yay at you both getting your notice dates booked! We're giving ours in August too :)
Less than 11 weeks till I go dress shopping - yaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Really can't wait - once I know what dress I'm having I can finalise my bouquet/buttonholes, and can start looking at accessories :)

I have not done any wedding things as running out of things I can do.
I didn't realise you had to book an appointment this far in advance to give notice. Should I get on with that then. xx

We didn't need to book this far in advance, but if we didn't we'd lose the provisional booking with the Isle of Wight registrar. You are allowed to give notice of marriage, up to a year ahead of the wedding.

Tracey- you probably dont have to book to give notice this early (although each county seems to have its own rules), mine said I could book a few weeks before but said we could book now if we wanted to so I thought as its on our week off I would book now so we can make plans.

LauraR- sorry to hear your having problems and doubts about your venue, the only suggestions I can think of are
*go through your guest list and be strict with who you invite
*start a thread for suggestions- there may well be people near you who can think of places that you may not think of
*Google and google using a range of wordings.

Sorry its not much help but i cant think of much else. Also if you did change venues would you lose any money?
