Mel- Im pretty sure if you have a cheque in both names it has to be paid into a joint account, we have a joint account for all our bills and our wedding account is a joint account so we are fine.

Ah thanks both - will have to have a think about that one then. Not that I'm expecting loads of cheques or anything lol but I had to write a cheque out the other day and Natalies's comment made me think!

It will all be worth it in the end Natalie - keep at it! I admire your resolve I gave up on making my own before even starting haha.

Those mirrors look cute Tracy (Tracey? sorry can't remember spelling) not a bad price either.

I agree Laura - why not give the planning a rest even just for a week or so and come back to it once you have refreshed your brain?

    xx

Well I *finally* managed to get Word 2000 to do what I wanted it to do...
I have now got 4 Thank you cards all ready to be written, and posted :)
Here you go - here's what is included in my Thank you card packs:

They are A7 in size - you can see their size relative to the CD :)

Only 20 more to make (will give me 2 spares just incase lol - that is assuming we send them to everyone on our guest list).

I might also make a start on creating the gatefolds for our actual invites given how long it's taken to make these!

For anyone who brings their camera along to burn their photos for us :) (Hence the stamped addressed return envelopes as well) As we're not having a photographer I'm hoping this way we can capture the essence of the day (along with the photos we'll take ourselves).

:) Tonight I have cut the rest of the cards (20) scored, and folded them. I have cut up the rest of the front bit. I have assembled 6 complete cards with inserts, and popped them inside the envelopes.

Tomorrows job: Cut the rest of the white inserts (14 left to do), Assemble 14 cards. Place these inside the envelopes. :D

Tonight has been quicker once I've got going. The invites don't seem as daunting as they did yesterday! (Although I'm still fairly sure I'll make a start on the actual card base (not including the insert) sometime soon as they require cover all the red card with the white card.)

In a (rough) total of 5-6 hrs I have created all our Thank You card 'packs' - 24 of them, we'll need 22, 1 for me to keep and 1 spare.
:) AND with some of the left over card I have made another 12 paper hearts ready for assembling, bringing that total to 56 :) Sounds much better than 44. :)

I've still got some white card and red card left over as well incase I need to make any more.

So now what shall I do weddingy?! lol.

Oh I also got a receipt in the post today for our garden chairs - :T

:j only 10 weeks to go till I go dress shopping - yaaaaaay!! I have been eating sensibly and exercising for the last 2 weeks and have managed to get rid of all my water retention... I have 15lbs to lose - 1.5lbs a week - come on!! Raaaaaaaar I can do it! (I even went for a jog last night - first time in a very long time!) Have my first race for life in 5 weeks (am doing three this year). Feeling rather energised and motivated, this morning anyway :)

Now weddingyness - Oooo I've only just realised we've gone past the 17th May - it's now less than 14 months till I become Mrs Drink :) :T
Time for an update me thinks:

(Orange = organised but not completed. Green = nothing left to do/done other than pay. Red = needs thinking about).

Invites & Stamps - Everything is sorted but I won't actually print out the 'inserts' part until the last minute just incase - but the actual cards can be cut and folded. Won't do the ribbons until the inserts have been stuck on so I'm not having to take them off and put them on again.

Thank you Cards (with CD) & Stamps - These are all ready for writing and sending. :)

Registry Office - well I've coloured this green - the only thing left to do is pay.

Notice - Booked for 1st August this year.

Marriage Certificate - we'll get it when the ceremony is done (plus one spare copy).

Rings - No change on this one - I know what ring I want, and where I'll be getting it from. MrD just needs to decide whether he would like a ring and if so what sort etc.

Wedding Dress - As I've said above 10 weeks to go till I go dress shopping with my mum. Still looking at dresses online but I can't wait to try on Donna Lee Design's 'Alice' dress.

Underwear - Sorted both MrD's and mine.

My shoes - Bought a gorgeous pair of Miss KG Paparazzi shoes. Nothing left to do on this one.

Accessories - No idea what sort of jewellery I fancy - I guess I will get a better idea once I've got a dress.

Hair - I will wear a white/ivory flower from my bouquet/MrD's buttonhole in my hair. I'll have a play around with this in the Summer Hols I think.

Makeup - I have found my foundation - just have to sort out what colour eye make up, blusher, lipstick etc to wear and what style I want.

Flowers - The designs of my bouquet and MrD's buttonhole are organised but I need to decide whether I want ivory or white flowers in amongst the burgundy ones - but I'll decide that when I know what dress I'm getting.

MrD's suit - MrD's mum is going to help sort this one out - take him suit shopping etc.

MrD's shoes - Got him a really nice pair of London Base shoes.

BBQ for after the ceremony - This pretty much speaks for itself - meat, salad, bread. Done. But will break it down into quantities etc nearer the date.

Marque for the garden party - Sorted! Two 3x3 white gazebos!

Seating - Have placed an order, and paid a deposit, for some white plastic garden chairs for £1.50 each plus £10 delivery & collection. Just need to pay off the rest of the bill.

Alcohol for the party- I know what I will get. I just have to wait till Christmas to buy cheaper booze!

Catering for the party - I know what I will get - I just have to wait to closer to the date so I can place a tescos/asda order.

Cake - We'll be having little miniature cheesecakes for everyone. I have bought my cake stand. I will just have to wait closer to the date so I can place a tescos/asda order.

Decorations - I know what decorations I'll be using - I have made 56 paper hearts. Need to sort out the garden torches, organza bows for the chairs and legs of gazebos/torches, balloon cloud 9s, table confetti for around the buffet.

Entertainment - Well this is organised - in that we're just going to have our iPod set up - but we will need to sit down and plan our music - lol and filter out any with any bad language lol.

Hen night - Well I have now decided to pay for me and my Chief-Bridesmaid-If-I-Was-Having-One to have a weekend away (am thinking the weekend immediately before the wedding but not sure if I'll want to be at home organising things). I'm either thinking a spa day on the Saturday, or doing a High Ropes course. (Maybe even both).

Stag night - He can organise that!

422 days to go till our wedding!!

The last time I did this update was 8th April. Back then there was:
    4 green, 10 ambers, and 11 red
Today there is: 9 green, 10 ambers, and 6 reds :)

Have just added another item to my budget spreadsheet - photos. Although we're not getting a professional to take photos - and wherever I can I will be taking shots myself (like of the shoes), and we're inviting our guests to share their photos with us. I will want a photo-album made - we've always used apple's in the past and their books have been amazing - but will be open to suggestions closer to the time. Plus I think we probably should get our parents & my granddad a thank you gift for their part in the day. So I was thinking of giving them all a framed photo of the two of us. I will just have to persuade a friend - thinking my chief bridesmaid if I was having one to take a whole load of photos of the two of us so neither of our parents & my granddad will see the shot before we present them with it.
