I love the simplicity of just little ribbons around a plain cake. Might try this!

Sooooo easy to make. I have brought loads of different shades of purple tissue paper off ebay. I used 8 sheets per ball and some are going to be big approx 15" round and others about 10". I'll try and find a good link on how to do them. I am hanging them from beams in the venue hall.

Good to know they aren't too hard! I have the martha stewart tutorial printed off already, just haven't got around to ordering the tissue paper. Do you know who you bought off on ebay?
I was also worried about transporting them. I'd read that you shouldn't puff them up until you're ready to hang them, but I can't see our venue (the student pub) making them up for me - and if they do I'd dread to think how they'd look!!

I need some opinions please ladies - I ordered these hair slides from GS tonight after seeing the 20% off code. Then about 10 minutes later I discovered Imagine Doing It Yourself and they had some great embellishments that I could easily make into slides myself.

I've ordered some - I've ordered this to make a new brooch for my dress (you may remember I'm not keen on mine but hadn't found a replacement). Then I've ordered two of these and two of these to see what they would be like for hair slides. (I also ordered a smaller version of the brooch for my MoH to wear on her sash maybe)

I didn't mind just ordering these bits, as the whole order came to £4.99 including postage - but now I don't know what to do about the GS slides. Do I try and cancel it, because these bits will probably do fine, or do I leave it and wait to see all together? Will mean paying postage to return them again. Hmm.. I don't know! I'm terrible at making decisions!

    Hi everyone,

I've been a bit quiet recently purely because I am in the middle of exam marking - the deadlines are quite tight so I am trying to stay off this site or I will never meet them haha! I'm currently trying to get ahead of myself - I'm supposed to have marked 1000 items by Monday and I'm currently on 809 - wondering if I can psyche myself up to meet the deadline tonight, which would keep me ahead for the next deadline, which would let me go out next Saturday night lol! Gutted to be missing the England match though :(

I've had a brief read through but tbh I was skimming so can't remember enough to comment properly! I should have made notes!

I haven't really done anything weddingy because of the marking and stuff but tbh there isn't really that much to do apart from pay for the DJ and Venue (I'll wait till they get in contact I think, presumably it'll be sometime this week) and just double check on timings and stuff for the day. Oh and try my underwear on with my dress and get it altered, but that won't take long.

In a way I'm glad to have something to take my mind off it because I'm really not looking forward to the church bit. Not the marriage itself obviously, but the walking down the aisle/standing and talking in front of everyone bit! Also the photo bit - I hate having to pose for photos :(

Right back to it, round two - aiming for 200 in the next 2 hours :rotfl:

    xx

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/KitKare- Gorgeous printed, patterned paper but slightly more expensive.

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Bluestar-Packaging-Supplies - I got my plain colours from this guy

Both suppliers were prompt and well packed. I have made some up for size ideas and different cuts on the end for different textures and they have kept well. they do take up quite a bit of room but they'll soon puff up if they get a little squished. Go for it :T

p.s. I love all those brooches and the clips would be so easy to make. Try and cancel your order before dispatch if you can.

SKS- those bits youve ordered look fab, and such a good price, I can see why your tempted to cancel the GS order.

Well my wedding plans this weekend are:
Check I have enough jars for all the sweets
Meet photographer (which I had completely forgotten about!!)
Take bridesmaid dresses to my Mums on Sunday for them to try
    Attempt place name cards
Pop to hobby craft and get some pink ribbon for sweetie jars

I ordered this dress this evening for one of my hen dos, I will dress it up with either silver or pink accessories.

    Hello again!

I've been to the gym, and have just finished a plate of tuna and brown rice. Having some cho-yung tea now (wonder if it's working!). OH is having a glass of wine and a bar of chocolate, the evil b*gger. :rotfl:

I've priced the cakes and desserts on the M&S site and can get the following for £91 by using the £5 code 3 times:

    Sponge cake - small
    Sponge cake - medium
    Sponge cake - large
    48 mini macarons
    24 mini cheesecakes
    36 mini cupcakes

Amazing huh?? My mum is also asking her friend to make a 9inch choc biscuit cake so we will have LOADS of desserts!!!! :D That's enough for 100 people, isn't it?

I've also suggested the sweet table to OH, who loves the idea - whoop!!!!! :D

Emma - that's great about your mum's outfit :T and my weekend plans are: get as much wedding stuff done as possible!!! I have another appt with the infamous florist tomorrow - he's doing my samples, how exciting! :D

Mel - thanks, I have already oohed and ahhed over that blog post, I love RMW!!! :) I've seen those shoes in lots of bridal shops, can't remember the make but I will have a search if you want x

Mel 2 (Silaqui) - ugh to the marking but :j to you being so organised!

Thats a bargain Wanchai! I got did the 3 codes thing in the end and got the small, medium and large cake plus 3 cutting bars for £81 :)

I think that should be plenty for 100 people!

I'm up to 863 now, this question takes SOOOO long to mark! I'm really bored now though think I'm going to have to call it a day soon so much for meeting 1000 haha!

So so annoyed tonight. Wish I had never asked now. Did a bit of searching to try and find out if I could get a cd of all the images taken on the wedding day and not just the 30 we are getting in an album.

yes but at a cost!!! £150!!!! to buy the copyright of all the images from the day.

Just to get a disc of photos!!

    :(:(:cry::cry::cry:
