Emma - yay for more shoes!! :j:j I am taking my purple converse to put on for walking around town/the park since I have ivory heels (though they are very comfy heels)
StokieBecks - what is your post box like? I'm still pondering what to do for ours.
Mel - I always think strapless bras are way tighter than normal bras anyway so don't think of it as really going up a back size.
Wanchai - no progress on rings. he's no good at getting things done. doesn't seem to understand he might need to wait for one, and there's not that many weeks left!
Where did you get your hessian from wanchai? I've been looking for some but the stuff in the shop here is really rough and cheap looking. I wanted some nicer looking stuff but it's so hard to tell online.
Hope you have a nice dinner! :j
I've had a practice with the wood burning tool for the guestbook, although I now have a nice blister burn to show for it ! but it was ok. I know roughly how long it will take me to do the big piece now, and that I need to plan the outline to make it easier to go over. So that's good :T Think it will take me a while though as I'll have to do it a bit at a time as I can't really have the hot tool out around DD.
I've decided on a gift for OH - going to get him a zippo lighter and have it engraved. He smokes, and I hate that he smokes , but I know he's not going to give up any time soon as he mostly smokes at work and it's his way of dealing with stress so I might as well go with it! I think it would be a nice gift that he would appreciate. None of the other 'traditional' gifts really suit him - he doesn't wear a watch, and has two in the drawer anyway, he couldn't have a pocket watch or cufflinks with his outfit, and he doesn't really drink for something like a hip flask or an engraved glass.
What are other people giving their OH's - if you are giving anything! I think someone may need to let mine know about this little tradition :rotfl:0 -
12 hrs later and the dining room is finished (yep colour painting today!!) and the stairs and landing has had one coat.0

SkS- glad your ohs outfit is coming together well, hopefully you can get him to make a decision about his ring soon.
Wanchai- I got the frames from Debenhams, I hope they are nice when they arrive, will need to pop in the works this week and get some nice gift bags (got some lovely ones in there for the bridesmaids before so hoping they will still have some nice ones.
Melanie- No one will know what size your bra is so dont worry about the size, I do sometimes find strapless ones come up smaller anyway. Hope you mil2b is ok, if she is going to really moan about your oh going to visit maybe he could send her some flowers and a thinking of you card.
SKS- your purple converse will look so cool under your dress. Your questbook attempts looked fab, ouch about the blister though!
Oh I was telling mil2b that my mum had her outfit, just aswell I told her as it had been one she had kept looking at and really liked!! That could have been a tricky one!!
SKS- Im not getting oh anything, he has some boxers and socks but thats it, he wont even give it a thought to buy me a present!!
Wanchai- hope you enjoy your meal.
Todays food:
Breakfast: yoghurt drink
Lunch: 2 tiger rolls
Snack: caramel kitkat
Dinner: we went to a turkish restaurant and I had some bread and dip for starter and then chunks of lamb with rice, it was so yummy, and not too bad health wise.0 -

My dad has really annoyed me today and said he hasn't yet booked anywhere for him, his girlfriend and her mum to stay! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH I sent him a list of numbers ages ago and told him to make a shift as things were being booked up quick. I'm gonna try not to stress about it. He will be there, but was hoping he was going to be close enough to help on the day with ferrying people around who haven't taken their cars.
Will post a pic of the post box. I ordered a plain ivory box from Ebay and bought some ribbon and decorative flowers and ordered a card to go on the front.
Have ordered presents for Best Man (who is also grooms father so saves one lol), Usher, Father of the Bride, Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom and Chief Bridesmaid (I was originally only having one - my sister)
Have also ordered some place cards for the meal on the day (so definitely what happened to a non wedding day!!)£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -

Oh that looks fab SB. What does the writing say? I dont know what to write on ours!!0

Does the bigger picture help?
It's got our names and both dates (wedding and the party - i ddn't feel right putting just one as the box is mainly for the party the week later)
Then it says " Thank you for sharing our special day with us and for your generous gifts and good wishes. Please deposit your cards here"£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Just incase any of the newer members of this thread want to join us - a few of us are on Facebook and we've created a secret little group where we can rant/share photos etc that we don't want to be so public as to write them on here. If you're interested in joining us let us know
(I would say find me on FB but you can't cause I'm not searchable lol).
