OOOOh another having a sweetie table. I saw a beautiful one recently on a blog it was all done in lemon and grey colours with plain glass jars. Very simple and so effective. I wish i was having one as they look lush!

I have printed 'The Key to Love' poem onto purple card and placed it in a white ornate frame. I thought i could display it at home as a constant reminder. This is a good link as it has some other nice words too:

    I'm feeling rubbish :(
I've got waaay too much to do, I'm feeling fat and it's beginning to feel so stressful trying to do a nice wedding on such a tight budget. Last minute things keep adding up and i'm worrying about how i'm going to decorate the venue etc with basically nothing left money wise.

And I went and tried on bikinis for the honeymoon and felt awful and fat. and my weight hasn't shifted for weeks despite the diet and running about 15 miles a week! ahhhhh!

Aw, Liz, how is that possible!!! You must be losing inches rather than lbs though? I am not even wearing a bikini on HM - I'll stick to my old faithful tankinis! :o They are a godsend.

Oooh, post a link to that blog if you have it Mel. Love that poem btw, and what a beautiful presentation idea! :)

((hugs)) Don't know what your room looks like or how big it is but could you get some cheap balloons, pump them up, and tie them all the way round the room. I appreciate balloons aren't for everyone, and I know helium is nicer and you could then use them as centre pieces, but it soon bumps the cost up. The paper hearts I put a photo of up before are very easy to make - just need paper/card and staples. You could hang one from the back of each chair. I got cheap pillar candles from Matalan wrapped a bit of ribbon round and hey presto they are my centre pieces.

Oh yes, MrsD's paper hearts are fab! And I second Matalan's pillar candles - they're only £2 and would look fab with ribbon, or hessian, or lace etc.

Sorry Liz - I missed your decor bit and only really read the weight bit. Don't worry, you can decorate for very little xxx

aw thanks ladies, i just need motivation that i can do nice things on a tight budget.
I was thinking candles, but is it weird to light them if it's (hopefully, ha) a hot summers day? Cos we're having the tables collapsed down at about 7pm for the ceilidh. Or do you just had them there unlit?

I'm going to a friend's wedding tomorrow that's she's done MSE style so that might re-motivate!

Cheer up Lizd - my hot bikini tip is buy a patterned one - it distracts the eye from any wobblies! All mine are patterned! Big sunhats also make anything under them seem smaller ;)

Just back from a little wedding shopping - much more satisfactory in real shops than online, because your get your paws on it all straight away. Am now the proud owner of a wedding handbag, hairclips for BMs, the last bits I needed for our favours and another pair of wedding shoes I don't need but they were flat and sparkly and in the sale.:D

Videographer is available for our date (they sounded shocked it was next month i was asking about, then must have realised it's a Sunday.) I will see if I can talk OH into it this weekend.

Well, I've had a very busy 48hrs of wedmin. 48hrs off now while we go to OJ's bro's wedding! I need to switch from wedding to-do list to packing list.

    Have a fab weekend, all!

Defo keep your eyes peeled for ideas tomorrow, maybe even bring a notebook :rotfl: (I would!)

Emma - how much did your sweets cost? Also hurrah for your dress, hope that it's ready this weekend and you get to take it home xx

I reckon in total the sweets cost just over £60, but this is for
    100 mini rolls of lovehearts
    120 lollipops
tub of pink and blue sour bottles
    tub of haribo giant stawbs
    tub of haribo hearts
    tub of fizzy cola bottles
    60 freddo bars
    huge jar of fudge
    huge bag of marshamallow
    tub of chocolate raisins
    40 double dipdab things
    Huge bag of wine gums

Ill take a pic of all the sweets at the weekend!!

Liz- What kind of look do you want? Im sure we can come up with some mse ways of decorating. I went into a shop today on my lunch break that was very reasonably priced for balloon displays, (in Chichester) if your interested. I always wear a bikini, your a holiday, your never going to see anyone again so who cares. Plus I have been looking for some new tankinis and cant find any that dont have silly cup things built in!! (if anyone has seen any that dont and arent too expensive please let me know)

Well it's in a village hall, so i'm going for an informal country fete type look so i can start off by doing a load of decorating with bunting (not that i've made that yet, ha)

That's very exciting you're also in Chichester - where are you getting married??
And thanks, what's the name of the shop? I'll go have a look next week xx
