WARNING NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED (OR THOSE SCARED OF HEIGHTS)!!!
It's a good job I'm not scared of heights....
The ladder while I got to the final piece of coving....
My view from the top:0 -
ekk natalie!!
woohoo honeymoon paid:D0 -
I hope Mr D was holding the other end of the ladder while you were up there!
Yay for getting your wedding cake ordered FutureCooper!:j
OH and I had a rare day off together today and we went to our wedding venue. We booked the venue in October last year, and the wedding co-ordinator was replaced with the current one in December. She told us today she's handed in her notice and will be gone by the end of June. I'm glad we have everything in writing how we want it, prices we've negotiated etc, so fingers crossed for a smooth handover.
Anyway, we had a chat about the little details and it all feels quite organised. We chose our food, wine, timings etc, but some really detailed questions I hadn't anticipated, like 'how much of the cake to you want cutting, and how much keeping?' :rotfl: um, I can't even remember which layers are sponge and which are fruit..
I'd hoped to get OH some shoes, and find some bits in hobbycraft (table sparkles, card to make place cards). They only had 30odd individual place cards in stock, which is not enough, and their table sparkles weren't very sparkly (we really are in the minor details now!) Anyway, we came back with some mount board and card to make a table plan, so that's one thing done.0 -
My nearly-mother-in-law has booked our wedding car! I wasn't that bothered about having one - was going to drive us there myself in my 13-year-old Punto in my dress and trainers! - but my parents gave us some money for it, and then the nearly-in-laws said they'd pay half as well, so we're having a posh white ex-taxi for the day.I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0

Natalie - I hate heights and couldn't even do 1 step on that ladder!
GL - yay for booking your car. I'm still to sort my transport as all the guests are going on the bus
BB - ooh venue visit. I have mine on Friday. I can't wait!! Feels very real.
I have ordered extra large fruit cake, large and medium sponge cake from M&S. Now I need to get ribbon to decorate. I am going to put a large hydrangea head on the top as a topper. Today I have put the scratch cards in the favour bags along with a trivia chocolate. Managed not to eat any!!0 -
Oh that is great news GL!! I spoke to my mum about cars last time I saw her. I told her (ha - maybe I should have asked her) my plan is MrD takes our car to the registry office, and my mum drives me and my Granddad (with me in the back). I was then saying I'm not sure I'll fit in our car for the drive home (3 door - nightmare to get in the back in the best of times, not even thinking about wearing a wedding dress); bless her she offered her car for MrD to drive us both home again and she'll take our car
Very happy with that.
BB I got my sparkles off ebay. I got heart shaped ones just so they're a little bit different. Cost us £3.50 but can't remember how many I got. (And the ebay feedback listing doesn't say)0 -
Natalie- your mad- health and safety people would have a fit!! :j at cooking all the sausages.
:j at booking you car Ghostlove.
Ive been having 'debates' with my Mum about how she is going to get to the ceremony- surely she should know me by now to know that the more she moans the more Ill insist shes going in my Sister Fiat 500!!:rotfl: I have a ribbon for it and everything!!
Babyboots- what food are you having?
Well Ive confirmed with mil2b what centrepieces I want so shes going to make a start on them. Im also unsure at the mo how long to book the photographer for! We have him booked for 2 hours but if it isnt much for 4 hours Im so tempted so he can then take all the nice photos like shoes and bouquet etc!!0
