Babyboots- what food are you having?

Well Ive confirmed with mil2b what centrepieces I want so shes going to make a start on them. Im also unsure at the mo how long to book the photographer for! We have him booked for 2 hours but if it isnt much for 4 hours Im so tempted so he can then take all the nice photos like shoes and bouquet etc!!

My BM is taking me in her Fiat500 - and putting a ribbon on it too - bless! (Her Dad said "I know who'll be cleaning it when you've driven it down fron Scotland")

We've gone for quite 'safe' food options:
melon with berry compote, mint syrup and lemon sorbet
roast chicken stuffed with sunblushed tomato and basil (nice crispy skin on the leg - yum!) & roast pots/veg
    chocolate delice with clotted cream
    tea, coffee, chocolates
ooh and the booze we've chosen:
sparkling wine and Bellinis (my favourite) to welcome
sauvignon blanc and shiraz with food, bubbles for toasts:beer:

If you can afford it, I'd be inclined to go for the extra hours with your photographer. If you find yourself with a few spare £s in a couple of years, you can't go back and get more wedding pics done.

Ooh, and later on we'll have a hot and cold savoury buffet, where we'll also serve our cake (M&S too (same as FutureCooper, wanchai and Silaqui- really can't remember which tiers were fruit or sponge, but same sizes as yours FutureCooper!)

FutureCooper - love the idea of you counting windows and measuring tables! And I thought I was a loon yesterday for asking to see the easel my table plan will go on and the table name holders, so I can see what sort of card I should use to make the plan and names.

Yay for booking your car Ghostlove:j

And MrsDrink, no slacking, not much half term left!;)

Oooh oooh, our lovely photographer (the only thing we've really spent proper money on!) emailed me today and asked if she could take us out for coffee at a gorgeous little cafe down the road so we can discuss the day's itinerary. :D It's actually happening. I'm going to be a freaking wife!
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Right I've bought my undies! Although, I have yet to try them on with the dress so I'm hoping it'll be alright. I tried on a whole bunch of the low back corsety/body/basque type things and I just didn't get on with any of them. So I have gone with the Ultimate Wonderbra - they had the old and new styles in, and the newer style seems to have more scope to pull it down a bit lower at the back so I think I will be going with that and then pinning the back of the dress to the bra so it doesn't ride up.

I also discovered I have gone down a back size and up a cup size - no more 36DD, I'm now a sounds-much-cooler 34E lol.

I've also bought a couple of bits for the honeymoon, and a gift for my sister for being the bridesmaid. And some make up :o

Got to spend today sorting everything out now and jigging my budget about oops!

Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Well I'm having a well deserved break. I have so far white washed the whole of the dining room (putting watered down matt on the bare plaster). Took 2hrs30 . All that is left is 2 half walls upstairs, quarter of the ceiling, the odd bit that we've repaired the plaster, and the coving upstairs left to white wash. THEN when I've done that (and joined you all for another break) I plan on going round and priming the MDF skirting and arcatrives (where the white prime has been sanded down after filling the screw holes). *sigh* THEN when MrD comes home we'll put decorators caulk around everything (top of skirting boards, both edges of coving, around arcatrives, and around windows). *IF* we then get time after the caulk's dried we *might* get the base coat on. The plaster really is in such bad condition - we should have had the whole lot skimmed but finances wouldn't stretch that far, so we gouged out the biggest cracks - the rest, kinda like fine cracks that make the plaster look like crazy paving, will hopefully be covered by the base coat stuff from polycell. Fingers crossed.

In the meantime first thing this morning we took the car to get it's track rod fixed, and retested to pass it's MOT. So then I can get it taxed so it will be allowed on the road again - woo hoo!! THEN tomorrow I can go and pick up my wedding dress. Hurrah!! Although I'm worried that they won't have done the minimal alterations (cut a small section of netting that sticks out under the hem line, and shorten the ribbon).

Right it's gone 1, break time is over. Back to work I go :)

Laura mercier do a gorgeous primer but its very pricy. If you dont normally wear much make up, I'd focus on getting a really good base - benefit do good concealers but they break me out terribly - maybe avoid if you are havung trouble with your skin. Surprisingly enough, collection 2000 do a fantastic concealer - lasting perfection its called, its only about 4 quid.
If you're not into make up I'd try bare minerals for a base, get your face looking smoith and even. Then go for a charcoal coloured eye liner (gosh in superdrug do good ones - easily as good as mac) just a very fine line along the top lashes, that'll stop you needing to have any false lashes. Use a pale lilac wyeshadow over the liner - itll tone it down and also the lilac will make your eyes look bright :) for a bit of blush try either bare minerals or natural collection at boots do some really pretty blushers and they're only 1.99!
Oh I would chuck the old make up haha I don't go in for watching use by dates on make up but 3 years its probably full of bacteria , its won't do anything for your skin!
I'm on my phone at the mo but any make up tips you want I swaer I have tried pretty much every brand on the market haha xx

I like going to the counters because I am no good at picking the right colours for me. This is the foundation I have http://www.clinique.co.uk/product/1599/6001/Makeup/Foundations/Superbalanced-Powder-Make-Up/index.tmpl (it scrapes a bit of powder out with the grater-esque thingy every time you turn the outside to use it so it's not super icky - but yes still very old!). I think I'm definitely a powder person. I like that I can build it up easily. Liquid foundation scares me!
I usually just stick with eyeliner only as I have hooded eyes. I think I remember another july bride mentioning they did too?

My headband just arrived from glitzy secrets and I hate it :( will have to return it. HATE having to pay postage to return something, grr!!

Well done Nat - a very productive day so far!! :j

Quick question for those who got a new passport in their married name:
OH rang me at lunch time to say that a package had arrived in my married name so I asked him to open it and inside was my old passport cut up, but no sign of my new one. If they have sent out the old one in my married name does that mean that they have processed it and my new one should be on its way? Did anyone else get their old one back separately?

Meeee!! I do. (Thanks mum grrr lol).
When I went to Mac I complained to them that when I wear eyeshadow my eyes just sweat it off. (It's not sweat - it's the natural oils in my skin/eyes and because they are hooded the crease can't 'air' out). Anyway the guy who did me said forget about primers - they aren't any good, but use an eye shadow 'paint pot' that's kinda like a cream eyeshadow. It goes on cream and then dries and I can feel it drying on my eye lids. It is amazing stuff, and lasts all day (I wear it every day for work). The one I use for a base for other normal eyeshadow (which then stays on cause the oils aren't getting through) is called painterly. Definitely recommend them. :)

Thanks!! I have now finished white washing everything that needs it, plus with the left over watered down matt I did a quick coat of the landing/stair well ceiling :D Quick break then it's on with priming the MDF. My arms and hands are COVERED in paint, but it looks like my hair has come out of it okay considering!!
