Our job is to be hard to please, right? :rotfl:

But of course! Our future husbands know we are discerning, and they are lucky chaps!:rotfl:

Your OH's outfit sounds like it goes together much better now. It's moneysaving too, as you didn't need to buy the waistcoat!

I had a look on fb but couldn't see a link. Can you post it again? Your clips are lovely.

Quickie - I am so close to finishing the first coat of the landing/stairwell ceiling. *sigh* Dining room to do, then I can go pick up my dress :T

    Hi all
I am currently in an online exam standardisation meeting - as usual, there are technical problems so it's startedd late and will therefore overrun. Rubbish. Thinking of the money!

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Hurrah - ceiling coat number 1 Done!! :D

I really must get a shower now before I go collect my dress. Ha I can imagine them refusing me entry if I turned up with paint all over me :D

Current plans for the dining room/stairs/landing are on track. I was thinking tonight while we're waiting for the 2nd coat of the ceiling to dry we could paint all the wood work and skirting/arcatrives. That is a mammoth task and it'd be nice to get a coat on. Cannot wait to get some coloured paint on the walls though - at the moment it's just a white box room from the base coat stuff last night :)

Mel - sounds like fun!! :) How boring that you can't play any of the old skool invigilation games :D

:) So wedding dress is now hung safely (I hope!) up in my mum's wardrobe :D

I took an old duvet cover and a hanger with me, but the lady was lovely, she said the duvet cover would be too heavy and she didn't want my dress to get squished so she gave me a proper cover for it :D

I had a sneaky peek at the label... and I can't believe it - and no pressure for me... but it's a size bloody 8!!! Argh!! Hahahaaaa :D (I do fit in it, I just have to make sure I stay as I am, or was, on Tuesday!!) I MUST stop eating all this crap other wise it is never going to fit. I can't believe my wedding dress is a bloody size 8!! *gulp*.

Well I have about 20 mins before I have to go start the second coating of the ceiling... in the meantime - here's a piccie of my dress :rotfl:

Also starting to feel a little bit sad that my Grandma won't be physically with us on my special day. (She will most definitely be in our hearts and in my 'non-engagement' ring). I know me, mum and Granddad will shed a tear or two in the morning, just hope it's before I do my make up! :) Just read an email my Granddad wrote us when we announced our date: "its a shame your Grandma.misses it she would have been so happy for you she considered aperfect match". Got a right lump in my throat reading that. She adored MrD (and me of course ha). It is strange (well actually no I can see the reasoning) that while she will be sorely missed, my father who died when I was 7, won't be (on the grounds that I hardly knew him).
Sorry for being all melancholy. :) Having a real mixed emotions day!! When I was at the bridal shop another lady came in to try on some dresses. And a part of me was really sad that I won't ever get that moment again!!
Right anyway, this isn't getting the painting done.

Natalie- Ill be feeling the same that my Grandparents arent there. They are such lovely people and would do anything for me and my sisters so Im sure there will be a tear on the day. I know they will be watching down though.

And the flip side of never trying on dresses again- that lady could have had the most stressful day trying on dresses and not finding any she likes!! You only got to do it once but you found your ideal dress!:D

Haha, love the photo of it hanging up!!

I know I told my dress maker I need my dress back my mid June, but I want it back now!! Saying that Ill have to chase her next week if I havent heard back as that will be 6 weeks, and I still need to get it cleaned!!

Well Im trying to sort out my Wheres Wally outfit. I have my t shirt and shorts- but the shorts are short shorts!! I was going to get some stripey tights but have a feeling this could actually make my already chucky legs look even chunkier! So im trying to decide if I can be brave enough to just wear long socks! I did try the shorts on with heels today and think it looked ok, I asked oh and his words were 'yeah that looks ok'! That actually means 'yes that looks fine' as he would have been very honest if I looked a state!! :rotfl:

Second dress fitting done and my dress has been properly chopped off!!! It's very raw edged but I can see when it's all straightened and tidy that it will look good. I asked the assistant not to do it uk so tight do I can get a feel of it at the fatty size I am. She has now said its not my back that's the issue it's my shelf! I have a very pronounced curve in my spine which accentuates my bum. I lovingly call my shelf so she didn't do the bottom zip up and she is going to extend the lace tie back to give me the extra inches I need. Very clever people these seamstresses.

So all in all I felt better in it! I have lost 1lb this week . . . After 2 trips to F&B's and all the cocktails at the wedding I think I did ok! Back to work Monday so i can really crack on.

Pleased your got OH sorted now SK, yay to Natalie for getting your size 8 dress home and I'm sure your legs will be fine as where's wally Emma! x

Your seamstress sounds very good FutureCooper - nice to know you're in safe hands!

Yay for picking up the dress MrsDrink :j

I know what you mean about absent family at the wedding. We really need OH's Mum to get well enough to go to OH's brother's wedding next Saturday - she's very down in hospital. OH has gone to stay with his Dad and visit. I said to make him some nice home-cooked meals as his Dad has been finding it very stressful - but they appear to be going out for a chinese banquet....
